    Welcome to DiRT Rally 2.0.

    The problem you described was a problem for more than a year on a very frequent basis.
    Since april this year the servers were way more stable and the problem didn't occured for me since then.

    But yesterday the servers started to get slow again and I immidiately stopped playing the game for the day, because I knew what this means.

    It's probably because of the release of the Fiesta MkII R5.
    Everytime there was a reason to come back to the game for many players (sale, new DLC, Game Pass, PS+, new edition whatever), the servers started to get slow.
    And chances this will ruin a championship, a My Team Event or a club race rise enormously then.

    For Monte Carlo, Sweden, Germany, Wales, Greece and Finland you need the respective "season" DLCs.
    Or you buy them separately.

    For Scotland you only need one of the 4 season DLCs, doesn't matter wich one.

    I would suggest, you look in the store of your platform youre playing on and look after deluxe edition upgrade.
    There should be one for year one and one for year two.
    These are the cheapest ways to get all the content.
    Buying only the locations without the cars is more expensive I believe.

    The Day One Edition doesn't include any new locations, only the 6 base ones.
    The Deluxe Edition contains everything released in the first year.
    The Super Deluxe Edition contains everything.

    Well...I couldn't beat my PB on my usual testing stage in Time Trial in several tries, wich was made in the old Fiesta with a tune from GTR Technical.
    I did run the car with the default setup though.
    And the time is quite on my limit.

    So it's not overwhelmingly more powerful, maybe a bit, but not like Delta to Escort like 😄

    The DS 21 (H1) is completely useless, because the other two are much faster.

    I prefer the cars accurate.

    @tbtstt's idea of splitting the class is better.
    But even better would be the option to whitelist cars in clubs, MP and custom championships.
    There could also be more variety in My Team events regarding car restrictions, like not only "any car of a certain class" or "this specific car only".
    Why not a battle between just two cars of a specific class for example?

    I also wished there would be a filter option in Time Trials for every single car.
    So you could post a time individually for each car and see on the board were you are against all others with this specific car through a filter option.
    But the overall board (for each stage) would only show the best time in that class with the car you drove like it is now.

    Would make Time Trials much more diverse, because it would make sense to drive all cars, not only the fastest in that class.


    So, there are ways to make balanced championships and still have accurate cars.

    Yeah, that would be a really helpful feature.

    But, if we all manage to stick to a single car per championship, I don't see why we can't exclude cars internally.
    The only problem is to make the non-forum-users aware we have that rule.

    I know, there is the textbox on the website with infos about the club, but is this also shown on the clubs-page in-game?
    And if yes, would people see this before they choose the car?
    Hm...

    I really, really would like to do a Group B 4WD championship without the Delta and 205.
    Or a Escort RS Cosworth championship! The new sound is awesome, a shame I still don't drive the car often, not to say almost never...

    Another review:

    Germany:

    Was a close battle till the end and I throwed away the chance of winning it right at the beginning of SS7 by touching the gras on the outside with the back of the car and spun, lost a few seconds there.

    Wales:

    Clipped the inside of a corner in 7th sector in SS6 and got a puncture. Did the rest on 3 wheels, but lost around 10 seconds due to this...meh.
    Another almost win lost.

    Poland:

    Clipped the inside of a hay bale chicane in SS2...puncture. Had to do the rest of SS2 and SS3 on 3 wheels.
    Another chance to win ruined. These mistakes always...arrgh 😄 

    Scotland:

    I had two moments were I could have ruined the rally again, but I had luck this time.
    First was in SS2 were I run over a big rock with both left wheels and even got in the air, but no puncture or big damage.
    Second was early in SS4 were I clipped the inside AGAIN and hit some logs, but got away with it again.
    Felt I got slower and slower losing faith from stage to stage, but made it to the end without any big trouble.
    Could have been faster, but also MUCH worse 😄 


    And for next season, do we wanna do a Ford Fiesta MkII R5 only season or better a different class?
    I also think about voting for Group B 4WD if I win and not using one of the two obvious choices.

    What do you guys think?

    I did some practice runs in Time Trial and still spun twice + a roll.
    Wasn't prepared for that completely different surface.
    Lost more than 15 seconds in that run.

    I think this is the best solution in this special case, because it was really unfortuned that the issues happened in the last days of the first series.
    Would probably take too much resources to find all affected players and in the end it doesn't matter if others get it, too.

    I already tested if the THE SAME SERIES CHALLENGE, who were responsible for my problem in series 1 this time works.
    And it seems so.

    Has nothing to do with the game being not a sim.
    It's just screaming "FORTNITE KIDS, LOOK! ... COLOURS! EXPLOSIONS! IDIOTIC COMMENTARY!
    And I just don't like that kind of art design. Nothing else.

    And all that means probably some sort of season pass with stupid cosmetics like in F1 2020.
    And I see already there how many are upset how stu*** these cosmetics look for the most part.

    I just fear the same fate for the Rally part, if even a more "serious" game like F1 gets this.

    Sooo, now a little review of the last 3 events 😄 

    Spain:

    Only one bigger mistake in SS3, were I touched a white pole(?), I don't know how they were called in english, lol.
    I spun in 90°, but could Immidiately continue. Cost a few seconds, but not many.

    Monaco:

    No big mistakes, but sometimes a bit too cautious.
    @Snoopy43 destroyed my time quite heavily, a little frustrating, but ok 😄 

    USA:

    Big drama here!
    Was pretty tired, but still managed to run the first 3 stages smoothly.

    And on SS4 I crashed twice.
    Had some sort of a black out and just drived straight into rocks on corner exit, really strange.
    On the last corner, a 5 or 6 left I touched a tree with the rear left and slided into the woods.

    Had no puncture but the car smoked quite a bit.

    I pushed hard in SS5 & 6, because I hoped to rescue 2nd place.
    I lost 1-2 seconds each sector until the 5th, were I started gaining time back.
    In the end I was in front, so I pushed even harder in SS6.

    The car had definitely some power lost, but it didn't got worse strangely.
    In service area I could repair everything, the engine was down by around 70%.

    On SS7 I just tried to bring it home with that small lead and it worked, wohoo! 😃

    Issue: Monthly Events in My Team still don't count correctly. Every rally within the event count as 1 event started but only finishing the event counts as event finished. Means: If you start a monthly event with 3 rallies you get +3 events started but only +1 events ended. It looks then you didn't finished 2 rallies within the event. For me as a statistics fanatic it makes me furious and keeps me away from playing monthlies at all. So it's a small bug, but critical for me.
     

    Method of Reproduction: Did monthlies since release many times and it is always the same. Simply note the statistics before doing a monthly in My Team and see. This applies to all monthlies (Bonus, normal, AI monthlies) but not to dailies or weeklies because they don't have multiple rallies.

    Before the monthly event it was a difference of 3 (already messed up from a previous attempt):

    You just need one time in any qualifier, so you qualified already in the first week for the Fiesta MKII R5.
    I missed week 2, because I simply forgot to do it the last few days 🤣

    I'm not after free games or big sales.
    If a game is worth my time I buy it full price.
    If not, I just don't buy it.

    Or I do stupid things like buying games and never play them, because too many games and not enough time.
    GRID Autosport is a good example: I own it since release, but it never saw my disc drive.

    Lol, that sounds, if it's easy on xbox.
    I ruined my run by doing two spins and a roll. Only got a 4:53.XXX, but better than a low 4:30s time wouldn't be possible for me, the Escort is quite a beast.
    I have no idea, how people manage a low 4:20s time or even better...crazy!

    you have to move the measuring point in russia for the DRS zone, because it's too close to the DRS zone itself.

    In the cities: Monaco, Baku, Singapore, Vietnam are the opponents and the training program too strong/hard than on other tracks

    if not already been fixed: the car sometimes doesn't shift down correctly and also the sound of shifting disappears

    If I look at the complete current line-up from Ford, wich is quite shocking to me, there are only two options: Fiesta or Focus.
    Everything else is ugly or doesn't make sense to me.

    I have to say, the Fiesta is the best looking car in the line up for me. Except Mustang and GT, but these cars are obviously too big for rally.
