DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

https://www.autosport.com/wrc/news/148061/fia-reveals-prize-to-find-next-wrc-champion " Roussel explained: "We are working with Codemasters and Big Ben on the DiRT and WRC 8 computers games. I'm waiting for their proposals. "Basically, we told them we wanted to be able to change the parameters in the game - we want to make sure we're selecting the good driver and not necessarily the good gamer. "For this we can change some of the coding and alter the weather in the one of the stages so we can see how they are adapting to conditions." The three best drivers picked from that group will them go forward to a two-year programme in the Junior World Rally Championship, and if one of the drivers wins the the title, they will be given a WRC 3 (for R5 cars) drive the following year.

  5. Yes, that fixed problem for me. Now each time, when I start stage, I need to do this magic. Also, sometimes re-centering VR fix this issue too, but MSAA change and apply is always working.

    Codemasters, what are you doing?

For me in VR - Lock horizon off - instant nausea. No such problem in 2D

    Good joke :)

    WRC 9

Drive Finland - it will simulate Apollo as DR1. For me WRC8 has a big problem - weightless cars, so no proper weight transfer and moon/boat physics. Weird to drive.

    WRC 9

Played WRC8 yesterday for about 4 hours. Yes , this game is a improvement from WRC7, but has big flaw - cars has no weight, it's like driving a boat. It's impossible to do proper weight transfer. It's not a Dirt killer in any way. What i like - tyre slip, multiple stages, WRC cars, but I can't take this game seriously.

DiRT Rally 2.0 - Force Feedback

I agree on 1-3, but I don't have any problem mentioned in 5 and 6 (T300RS on PC). Also, my wheel feels very light at the centre - if I add more SAT, then it's ok at the centre, but it's too heavy when you turn more.

And Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (it shows that this car is Manual sequential, but it's manual with clutch)

    FOV in Dirt Rally 2.0

But it gives same value as PI calculator (~60) 🙂

    FOV in Dirt Rally 2.0

And I need to divide trigonometry calculator value by two ?

    FOV in Dirt Rally 2.0

Please read it again: DR1 and DR2 have same FOV values - and it's a vFOV*2. PI is correct - CM confirmed that.

    FOV in Dirt Rally 2.0

A developer also told, that Project immersion calculator is showing correct values - and it shows 57 for me, not 29 or -5, like Andyf calculator.

    FOV in Dirt Rally 2.0

I don't think so: https://www.projectimmersion.com/fov/howto.php?g=DR Even Dirt devs are telling, that correct FOV in Dirt games - vFOV*2

    FOV in Dirt Rally 2.0

I think calculator is wrong - in Dirt games FOV must be vFOV*2 - 82 in your case, or +5 clicks. In my case it shows -5 and vFOV - 29. If I set -5, i can't play - it's like slow motion movie. But if i set +1 (vFOV*2 = 60 ) - it looks perfect. This calc looks better: https://dinex86.github.io/FOV-Calculator/

    WRC 9

Decent arcade game, physics are horrible - instant brakes, under steer and you can throttle 100 % - no rear sliding at all.

    WRC 9

FFB and physics looks very arcade, like all WRC games.
  20. I had this problem yesterday in Daily stage in Argentina (Lancia Fulvia), others stages are fine (btw, wheel - T300RS)
