  1. I dunno, I know making a topic for this is a bit self-indulgent, but this qualifies as feedback for how I am doing with the game at least. I have bought most of the DLC for the game so far (Mostly interested in new locations and historic vehicles). I'm gonna have to say that I'm not going to be doing so any more, because a few issues with the game are still too much for me to really enjoy this. I read Christina's post on Reddit just now, where she says: I want to let you know that, from my perspective, the health and longevity of the game are in danger, and me not buying further into the game is, well... that. That's not something I want to say, because the game is good, and has the potential to be great. But there are some bugs that are making it impossible for me to really enjoy at the moment. In particular, issues with the AI timing/difficulty, and the sound bug are really putting me off trying. These things are making Career mode, which is my main way to play the game, really frustrating. I love the ideas that are there, but if I am against AI that is to the point of being buggy, and the sound bug that is still in the game that makes driving almost impossible, it just ruins it. And because it ruins it, I won't be giving you any more money until that's sorted. If the game was working as intended, I would be hoovering up DLC in the form of stages, certainly, and a lot of the cars as well. But, that ain't happening.

    +1 to this. I think they've actually got worse since patches? It looks awful, I hate driving at night in the rain now. Has no one there actually driven a car?

    Steam (PC) Effectively at random. I use HDMI audio via my nVidia graphics card. I don't have any other sound devices to try this with. I use the "high" setting for audio dynamic range in-game.

    AI Times Are Completely Off

    I have pretty much given up with career. Clubman difficulty H2 FWD is getting times on par with human world record holders. Like someone said above, a challenge is good, but as it is, it doesn't feel fair at all. In some classes and conditions, you get horrendously mauled by them and it just isn't fun.
  6. I am not able to start the game, or get it to update properly. I have free space on all my drives. I have tried verifying contents. This is basically what happens (see screenshot). It keeps finishing the update, and then immediately queueing it back up. It is thrashing the hard drive in the process.

    The AI issues are less to do with the overall strength, and more to do with things that are obvious problems: FWD times that are going quicker than 99.999% of players (not an exaggeration) in lower difficulties. H2 clubman is brutal as a step up from open. Rallycross AI which is borked. AI not being affected properly by weather or night.

    Australia - Monaro route notes

    Does anyone else feel that the route notes/pace notes for Monaro are off? I find that several stages have notes that don't make sense or don't give adequate warning of hazards, but Monaro is just a mess. There are calls that are later than others, calls that are missing (if you look at the symbols, they show up, the calls don't), some of the calls are even in the wrong order, and it feels like the only location that I have to actually memorise. Which, you know, undermines the point. A couple of examples from off the top of my memory - one of the stages has you start off with a large jump. It's called out as a jump, continuing into a long 5 right. What isn't said, is that there's a sheer bank on the left which your car will fly smack into, and which you can't see. I guarantee everyone who did that stage will have run into that the first time, because afaik there is no instruction saying "keep right-" or similar. There are several situations where the road curves downhill such that a tree is effectively in front of you after a long straight, which can be hard to see in the rain or at night. No caution or anything. The end calls for one of the stages just straight up has the [square left - long six right - over finish] call in the wrong order (it should be square left - over finish - long six right). That's not causing issues in itself, but it's an example of what I think we'd find if we looked more into it. It's hard to find specific examples when trying not to get your rear handed to you by the broken af H2 FWD ai. -_-

    Still getting the sound cutting out issue. Possible happens on impact with dynamic range set "high".

    I am rapidly losing hope 😞 I also read the 1.2 changelist with disbelief. There are some really, really obvious issues that need to be addressed and they just... aren't. Now combine that with the DLC model and it feels like a really bad PR deal all 'round. They maybe could have got away with the DLC if they had good will - it is, after all, cheap. But this kind of community engagement (or rather, the lack of it) isn't winning anyone over.

    It would be good if we saw AI cars that had properly binned it and could be askew across the track, so following the marshal's instructions to slow down actually meant something.
  19. hmm but a lot of that motion is filtered out by the brain. he has the motion of the car feeding into his senses, we don't.

  21. Yeah the human brain does do a lot to balance out motion and tilt. It's pretty rad. On the other hand, being in a rally car bouncing over El Rodeo might jostle your vision around a lot, adding to the challenge of driving the car. I dunno what balance of these two is correct.

    So we've got people saying that R5 are too grippy. And someone saying that no, 2000cc are the problem.

    Hey, I'm not seeing anything in the patch notes about AI times. I'm guessing we're still in the same situation with that (mid and low AI difficulty posting absurd times)? Has anyone been able to give it a go? I'm still downloading on my potato internet. 😞
