  1. I have to say.... It would be much better if we can post everything about Dirt 5 in Threads like before, because I am not a big fan of Discord, but if this should be the future, I think I have to use it.

@PJTierney Can you tell this to the Dirt Team please?

I play it on my Computer, I have a issue, that there is always the Windows Mouse Cursor in my game.

I also would be happy, if you make the AI on very Hard faster.

The Pathfinder Events are toooooooo easy, In my opinion, the Time to get all three stamp should be much lower.

I really miss the Replay Mode 😞  It was soo cool in Dirt 2, Listen the amazing Rock Music while you can see how you drive.

I play it on a RTX 2060 Super and I have sometimes on a few Tracks Graphics Issues and Stuttering, it is not in every Track, but in a few.

This game is the 2nd best Dirt Game in my Opinion (Dirt Rally Series not included) there is Dirt Rally 2.0 the best. The only thing I don't like in Dirt 5 is Gymkhana, instead of this, it would be much better if there would be Rally Stages like in Dirt 2, or Trailblazer. What I really love in this game is the Career Mode with a lot of variety, the amazing Soundtrack, the very good Weathereffects and the Track choice. This game is very good, if you improve the AI on very Hard and fix other few issues, then this game would be even better, you did a great Job Codies. 😉

  2. Heeey Codies Team, I bought this game today and it is sooooo fantastic. Dirt 5 is muuuuch better than I expected 🙂 I love this game so much, I love the Career mode. The AI on very Hard is really challenging, I wish they can be a bit harder 🙂 and I also wish the Replay Mode will come back, I loved the Replays in Dirt 2 and Dirt 3. You did a very good Job

Please fix the AI, on some Events they are tooooo easy even on very hard, add the Replay Mode and also fix the Performance issues, it runs overall smooth with my rtx 2060 super, but on some corners on a few tracks there are FPS drops. I am soooo excited for the Future from this game 🙂

This game is so cool 🙂

all Colin Mcrae Rally and Dirt Games are amazing. 😉

Discord is a live chat platform, similar to what IRC was back in the day but with a bit more structure.

There are different communities (servers), which have their own conversation topics, and it's available on your phone or PC.

I for example am in a server just for F1 (the sport) fans, one for graphic designers, streamers etc.

People are using Discord more than forums these days, with official ones out there for DIRT 5, GRID and tons of other games.

okay thank you good to know it 🙂

Rally team is focusing on Rally.

Dishing the DIRT was our way of showing the world that we have 2 teams on 2 different DIRT games.

There may be conversation and interaction between the groups, but ultimately, they're both building the games they want to make.

There may be some small crossover in terms of assets and such, like did you know that the DIRT 5 team's work on new audio for the Ford Escort RS Cosworth meant the DiRT Rally 2.0 version got an audio update last month?

I am so hyped 🙂 I have a question, in the Demo the AI looked too simple, I hope the Team will improve the AI in the finished game in Ocotober, I want a very challenging and fast AI, Head to Head races 🙂

  6. Lol this game isn't even out and a lot of people hate it.... Let's wait for some gameplay and for the release. I personally like all Dirt Games from Codies. The Trailer was very cool in my opinion. It looks like a mix of Forza Horizon and Dirt for me. Let's wait. I hope it is like Dirt 2 with a lot of Content 🙂 Dirt 2 was/is and maybe still my fav. Dirt game. I am very hyped for this game.

6-A lot of Rock Soundtracks like in Dirt 2

  8. Hey Codies, if you increase the difficulty in free play in Rally, this whould be soooo cool. I always play on 100 % and it is too easy for me, please make 100% better with better AI times or increase it to 120% AI difficulty or higher 😉 I am a big Fan from this game.

  9. thank you for still taking care of the excellent game and give us Updates 🙂 I love this game, best racing game in my opinion 🙂

Sorry wrong Category 😮 I did this post to the general topic 🙂

  10. After I have played a lot of Championships in the Season 3 Career I want to make a small Review to this wonderful Season.

The AI is so much better now. They are faster and it is harder to beat them now. This is a very big Step forward. Please still improve the AI in the Future. The biggest issue in this game is if you increase the Laps to 10 or higher, the AI has Problems to fight against you and they will be much slower. Please improve the AI to make them faster with more laps.

I also loved the choose of the Tracks in der career Mode in Session 3. A lot of fun rain tracks and I loved the evening Tracks 🙂

Suzuka was a great Idea. A amazing Japan Track 🙂

what can you do better for the future of grid 2019?

    Add Drift

Add more City courses I loved Chicago from grid 2 and Milan from grid 1 this whould be cool if they will be back and of course other City courses

Add music in the replay like in grid 1

Add Tracks like Spa or Monza

Improve the AI in the future and make them faster even with more laps.

    Add Splitscreen

My Final verdict: A very fun DLC with cool new cars a cool track and a great AI. Very good Job Codies this is a very big step forward. 😉 10/10 Points.

I honestly don't know how much of a difference in the AI there will be when racing (you'll have to tell me if you notice much of a difference).

What do you mean by this? You can change the camera view in the R26 just like you can on any other car.

I played a few races in the Season 3 Career and WOW!! The AI seems to be faster than before, much more challenging, Head to Head Races, I love it, but please call the Grid Team to make them more faster and harder for the Future of this game 🙂 I like Season 3 it makes a lot of fun, I am a Guy who only plays offline against very challenging and good AI and this is the right step forward, Congratulations, now make the AI more faster and I will love it ;D

    Good Job Codies

I'd say credit payouts of over ten times their previous amount is pretty substantial @KreuZenNL 😉

We've also made some bug fixes based on community reports and some balances to simulated AI times (that apply to singleplayer and multiplayer). The full patch notes will be out tomorrow morning.

What you improved the AI???? I can't wait to Play this game tomorror ohhhh thank you I hope the biggest issue with the slow ai is away ;)

  13. This DLC is amazing! I loved the Colin Mcrae games and this is a very big present for us, thank you very much, I love Scotland very much 🙂

But this game has saddly a issue with the German Voice, it is very often very very quiet, it is hard to hear her, what she want to say to you, hope it will be fixed 🙂

Now I will play the Colin Mcrae Career and please Codemasters, please, make this Colin Mcrae content also for the Dirt games in the future 🙂

I don't really find the AI to be any harder or easier.  On both, I'd say, on average, I was on pace with AI on the hard difficulty, and even then, it's car and track dependent for me.  I would say my average pace was slightly better on Autosport, and that's really due to the new game's dislike of power application on curbs.

The track argument isn't worth trying to argue. As for cars...

Drift: Not much of a drifter here, but I can say I at least somewhat enjoyed drifting in Race Driver: Grid, especially the Drift GP events.  Autosport on the other hand, it was the bane of my existence.  Less enjoyable, and had to lower the AI's difficultly if I wanted to dream of satisfying team and/or sponsor objeectives.  Without knowing what the drift car handling model would be like in the new game, I can't call it's absence a pro or a con.

Drag: Never bought the DLC.  However, based off of videos of its gameplay, it looked like it was one of the more realistic drag modes to be included in a racing game.  That being said, while it would've been nice to have, I don't find it's exclusion to be as questionable as drifting and demo derby's exclusions, especially since they were in all 3 of the previous games to my knowledge.

Touring: Cat C cars are somewhat similar to TC2. Super Tourers are the same, just newer models.  Cat B and Super Utes were based off of racing series that no longer exist (Superstars Series and V8 Utes), so while their exclusions are unfortunate, they aren't really surprising.  As for Cat A, which run in Stock Car Brasil, they still race, but the decision was made to use Group 5 cars instead (which I thought to be more sport cars than touring cars).  2 of the 3 cup classes and the touring car legends DLC (minus the Audi) were included in the invitational category.  So, mostly the same as Autosport.

Open Wheel: Consider the F1 series Codemasters also produces, it's not too much of surprise that there only a few per game.  From 3 race cars down to 2, and all cup classes drpped, this is on par with Race Driver Grid.  On top of that, the TOCA series that preceded Grid focused mostly on cars with fenders, count yourself lucky if 1 or 2 open wheelers are included.

Endurance: While the real world classes are different in both, GT group 2 goes from 4 cars + 1 dlc to 5, GT group 1 goes from 2 cars + 1 dlc to 6 cars, and Prototype goes from a spec class to 2 cars, whose only in-game difference are visual and auditory.  Cup classes?  GT40 joined by it's Ferrari rival, Shelby Cobra replaced by 4 cars that possibly could've competed with it, and the 787B was replaced by 2 Group 7 cars.  Honestly, the real disappointment is that the Endurance mode that would've complemented these cars nicely is only available on the stadia version of the game.

Tuner: Muscle was made part of the stock category, doubled from 3 cars to 6, and somewhat returned to its Race Driver Grid form.  JDM was basically revamped into the modified group and expand from 3 cars to 5.  The former modified group was a redundant group featuring 3 modified versions of cars from the muscle and JDM groups.  Super Modified was demoted to the tier 2 Tuner class with all 3 base cars and the dlc car carried over, and an additional 5th car.   World time attack is the new top tuner tier with 5 mostly unique cars.  Both cup classes were dropped.  In summary, 4 tiers with 12 cars + 1 dlc became 3 tiers with 15 cars.  Personally, I'll take fewer tiers more cars as opposed to the inverse.

and more: The Street division was basically a dump for the rest of the production cars from Grid 2.  Considering basically all of those are or have been included in countless other games, and only a handful were unique or rare (Mazda Furai), I'm not concerned with their omissions.

It is a shame fewer and fewer non-kart racing games feature splitscreen anymore.

Autosport's career: Race for teams.  5 disciplines with 9 championships each, 3 for each tier, with 1 short, 1 medium, and 1 long.  Total "events" range from 2 to 12, with medium and long featuring 1 or more cup races that aren't optional.  There's also 3 Grid championships that are 10 events long feature cars from all 5 disciplines, unlocked by achieving level requirements for each discipline.  Why events?  Touring and open wheel have 2 races for each event, and Tuner's drift events feature a multi round format.

Grid 2019's career: Race for your own team.  4 categories with 12 events (not distributed evenly among tiers) ranging from 1-4 races or time attacks.  After winning 10 events in any one, you unlock a showdown against the best team in the discipline.  Set up similarly is a Fernando Alonso category.  The invitational category has 24 events, unlocked by progression in the other categories.  Win 4 of 6 showdowns, you unlock the Grid World Series, with 6 events, progressed through in a set order.  Win all 6, a final showdown against Ravenwest is unlocked.

48 championships with varying formats vs 85 events and 7 showdowns.  I can't say how long each career mode would take to 100%, but I'd say both would keep you occupied for a decent amount of time.

    very good comment

Ummm as other guys said, I think you are missing the point. Yeah. What most of us refer to (myself included ) is:

Race 1 of a series, the IA go insanely fast. You barely can catch anyone.

Race 2 of the same series: IA go way slower, you can actually fight them and be on par with most of em

Race 3 of the same series: IA go off the track on turn 1 on every single lap, they crash each other trying to get back on track. You intantly win because of that.

I don't really think those things are intentional...

Hey Bro, I have already given up this game, 'cause they will never fix the AI I think....

  16. I have played a lot Grid Autosport in the last time to compare it with the grid 2019 game

Here are 4 Reasons why Grid Autosport is better than Grid 2019 in my opinion:

    Reason 1: The AI

The AI is so much faster and better and much more challenging than in the new Grid, Medium is sometimes like very hard in the new Grid.... And Hard and Very hard are really challenging, I Love challenges it makes so much more fun, okay sometimes they are too aggresive but overall they are very good at driving and very fast

    Reason 2: The Content

Grid Autosport has so much more Content like Drift, Drag, Touring, Open Wheel, Endurance, Tuners and more.... It also has much more Tracks than the new one! I

    Reason 3: Splitscreen

You can drive with your friends championsships against the AI, it makes so fun, also missing in the new grid

Reason 4: A much better Career Mode

The career mode is really long, there are sooooo much events and championsship to do in each Race Category.

Some say the AI are too fast, some are saying too slow. The fact is, both are correct and intentional.

The reason you are seeing these differences is because of the varieties in AI personalities. There are over 300 different AI profiles. Some drivers are faster, some are slower. Some are braver into corners and more aggressive, others brake earlier give you more room. If you come up against a driver you know was quick in a previous race, chances are they're going to be fast in the next one - it's all about adapting to the situation with real, unpredictable racing. You can't expect to win every race.

By the way (in case you didn't know), if you're sick of Nick Whittle and there's a driver you want on your side, you can look to hire them as your teammate. The list of available ones are in the Profile menu.

read the text from GavinMac in this Thread to know the main Problem with the AI and tell it to the grid team please....  every AI Bot feels like the same for me, slow, okay in some Tracks they can be challenging but in the most Tracks they are even slower than Gary from Spongebob.... 😄

@CMTGK I think you are missing what people are saying, from a quick glance at the rather short thread:

    • AI balancing issue between tracks: Hard AI is very hard on some tracks but too easy on others.
    • AI glitching: AI crashing or going off track and being unable to correct themselves (personally i have seen a group of cars rocking back and fore in Barcelona with nervous breakdowns)
    • Some people want harder AI so once AI is balanced correctly across tracks then they want an Insane level AI.

Sooooo true for 100% You should be a developer in the grid team because you have understand me and the other people with the slow AI problems.... instead of the real grid team.... I think the better AI is just a dream for us....
