What do you miss from older Dirt games?

first of all, all of that ^^, especially times of day & weather conditions. the stage generator could be better though and I prefer Phill Mills over Nicky Grist. other D4 things: much deeper team management system using your My Team cars in Freeplay loaner cars & teams if you don't have the money to buy the one you need actual career mode with well thought-out progression system which encourages you to try every car class in the game, but doesn't force you to use many of them more than once or twice. tutorial mode that actually uses the Dirtfish Test Area. I have recently played through Dirt 2 & Dirt 3 (at the same time so the locations stay fresher - Dirt 2 gets really repetitive because there aren't many routes) and I miss: having opponent drivers on stage with you Jen Horsey as co-driver, though Phil is just as good more variety in locations: jungle:Malaysia, savanna:Kenya, desert:Morocco/Mexico/Utah. Dirt Rally 2 is the best game in the series in terms of variety, but it can always be better 🙂 fun multiplayer options. Cat & Mouse was especially good in Dirt 3 online

the game is not licensed to use his name. if you notice in the Colin McRae section, it says things like "Swedish teammate" and "Finnish/Spanish rival" to mean Kenneth Eriksson, Carlos Sainz and Tommi Mäkinen. I'm planning on getting it for PS4, along with several friends of mine (who are German). I'll probably get the Year Pass too, it's only C$27 and I can play online with them. I probably can't download it though, as the monthly limit in the place I am staying for the lockdown is just 125GB 😂😭

tire is north american spelling tyre is generally used in the rest of the English-speaking world for virtually all other spellings and other differences between the two types of English, Canada follows UK English. it just follows the US in this case because tires are a product and it would be incredibly confusing if they had two spellings. ovens here are also in Farenheit even though the country uses Celsius.

quick question about Clubs from someone who's never done them before. the official Dirt club has several events with each class. If I pick a car to use in Scotland, am I stuck with it for every Group A event, or do you choose a car every event, regardless of which class it's being run with?

Rallycross times & positions are off

interesting. that would've been nice to know. in the patch notes for instance... I'll give RX another shot. yes, this. this is hear-tearingly frustrating.

yeah, there seems to be an issue with the algorithm that picks stage conditions for Scotland. in the previous weekly event every stage except 1 was in the heavy rain (8 out of 9). it doesn't help that the only weather option at Dusk is rain, but still. also, none of the 4 Weekly Bonus events since Scotland came out have had even one night stage.

what are you talking about?! the video i posted is of the exact roads DR2 uses, they laser scanned them. the in-game stages are Las Juntas and Valle de los puentes (in that order and direction). it's El Condor in real life of course. WRC 8 stages are imaginary: they took sections of several different Argentina stages and stuck them together, with invented sections too all the WRC 8 stages are like this. it means they were able to put more landmarks and stuff on the stages, but all the DR2 ones are exact copies of real life roads. so there actually are "such sections" in Dirt. whereas in the WRC series there are not. you can like the WRC series stages more if you want, but they aren't real.

in case anyone wants to see what the Argentina stages look like in real life. the in-game stages are Las Juntas and Valle de los Puentes, in that order and direction. too bad cm cut it in half, but hopefully in the next game we can do the whole thing. it's a bit annoying that they keep cutting to the camera that looks at the interior of the car, but you can clearly see how good a job CM did recreating the stage. including how rough it is...

no you're not. others have reported this too. both achivements seem to be bugged.

yeah, I know that 16km NZ one is tougher, but it's because the banks can spin you easily. the corners aren't hard. interesting, I don't find Sweden hard at all, but maybe it's just because I've driven it a lot. I'd put Scotland in there with the hardest four, and say Greece is about equal with Monte Carlo, depending on the direction. both are fine going uphill, but going downhill is completely terrifying ahaha hopefully one day these stages will all be able to be done as one long one (not sure if/how that works for New England, Aus, Poland & Scotland, but oh well). @HelloAlexander not sure, but I don't think you're doing anything wrong. contact support.

    Final DR2.0 thoughts

physics were tweaked again? they haven't been tweaked once since the game came out lol the new cars have different physics because .... they're different vehicles, that's all. it just takes getting used to and/or changing the setup a bit.

because I have almost every car in the game, with all of the upgrades. I've had all the staff upgrades for at least 9 months. so I have no more big expenses. as a result, I've bought many of the recent DLC cars from the dealership (the ones I can get new with 0km on the odometer). this includes the 2019 RX cars, which are like 800K each after upgrades. I also haven't played as much since the start of Season 3. even now, I'm playing 3-4 other games concurrently.

ya for sure. I haven't actually driven in Finland as much as most other locations, but Scotland is worse, for sure. this was my bill after of the event:

there's a limit of 8 setup slots for each surface type, which is a bit annoying. for RX there's not enough for all the tracks either. in other news, I started the group a weekly event in scotland just now. first stage I was slow, then there was a service station and I was able to repair everything. on the next two I got overconfident and it didn't go so well. I went from a perfect car to this in two stages. but I loved every second of it. these roads are awesome.

@James McAdam @tbtstt I can choose the 2019 Supercars at Masters level, for sure. you sure you have finished or abandoned a championship since they allowed the 2019 cars in career mode? maybe because we're on different platforms? I've got steam.
  21. the used cars change every 8 hours (the new ones are always there). there's two groups of used cars. the Audi is in one of those groups, and the other Group B 4WDs are in the second group. no idea why.

    Colin McRae: FLAT OUT Pack

finally finished the download. haven't actually driven anything yet, but has anyone else noticed that in the new Group A weekly event in Scotland, 8/9 stages are with heavy rain? that's hilarious. also weird: none of the stages are at night. I feel like they did this on purpose? second, I see two community challenge events where you are limited to one specific car (the Legacy and the new Impreza of course). could we get more of these, for all kinds of different cars from the game? third, no Dry condition at Dusk in Scotland? that's too bad.
  23. nice to see he's back, and nice to see another team competing as well. agreed about Baumanis' level. to me he's decent: good enough to almost always make the semis and often the finals too, but podiums don't come easily. I'd put him in roughly the same category as drivers like Marklund, Doran, Timur, and Timo. tier 2, more or less. (tier 1 being ones who regularly get podiums).

wait, so you can't use the cars in that McRae mode, or you can't use the cars in Freeplay or My Team?
