  1. I bought a new GPU and tried the game again and it works. For anyone with an RX 580 experiencing similar crashes, it's something GPU based. Thank you Codies for literally nothing.

    Why pre-order?

Paying for issues with Racenet and release day bugs? lol no thank you. Codemasters doesn't even fix issues with 2018, why would I waste more money on a bug filled game that I haven't even seen working properly yet?
  3. Still no response from you guys? Seriously? Does anyone from Codemasters check these forums?

    Codemasters Tech Support

I've already posted in the tech support sub-forum, this is just a rant. I've been trying to play F1 2018 on PC for a solid month now without the game crashing my entire computer every time I need to use an instant replay. This has been my first experience trying to resolve issues with any game via the forum. Usually I can figure out what's going wrong and more often than not it's something stupid I overlooked myself, but I've basically exhausted all of my knowledge and figured it was time for the developer to step in as something is definitely wrong with the game. I logged my issue in a thread and forwarded all relevant game files to Codemasters, and they had me run through all of the steps I previously hit myself, plus one or two extras. Nothing made a difference and the game still crashes like clockwork. At this point, they've stopped responding to me and aren't communicating at all. I work in software development and understand triaging defects and the SDLC, so I get that these things can't be fixed overnight, nor am I expecting that. My primary complaint is that if I've put the effort in to reaching out to you because your product isn't working properly, you could probably put that same effort into communicating your response and making sure I know you value my experience as a customer. It's gotten so bad that I'm ready to just uninstall the game and start looking for alternatives from competitors, although I doubt there are any because the Codemaster's F1 games are really f'ing good, constant crashing aside. My question to everyone else here: have you had to deal with Codemasters Tech Support before? What was your experience? What was the timeline? Was your issue ever resolved?
  5. Figured I'd update you all even if you intend to do nothing to fix the game. The most recent windows 10 update did nothing to rectify the issue, I've checked my driver updates again and still nothing has fixed this so I'm fairly sure it's something with the game. If you all ever decide to get around to fixing this, that would be awesome because I'd really like to play this game instead of continuously crashing my computer.

    F1 2018 PC - Game Crashing

Doesn't seem like they really care about any of these issues tbh
  7. Nobody's really getting back to me and the game is still crashing after implementing the suggestions that were emailed to me. Is there any update on this? It's fine if you guys are still figuring it out but a little communication would be appreciated.
  8. Forgot to mention, I'm using a Steam controller, and the USB dongle for that is plugged into a USB pass-through on my keyboard. I'm not sure if this makes much of a difference, but I see that others are pointing out if they're using any types of peripherals.
  9. When I instant replay/rewind, in Career, Grand Prix and Time Trial, or hit the reporter interview, or session results screen in Career mode, my computer will freeze and the screen goes completely black. I'm forced to hard reboot every time. Sometimes I can instant replay several times in a session and it's fine, other times the first one will cause the crash. I've tried: Verifying the files with Steam; Reinstalling to my main drive (can you tell me if this is actually necessary, because it's filling it up 😞); All of the graphics settings on all levels; Updated all drivers and BIOS. I built the computer a week before the game came out and it has no issue running at max settings, but these crashes still occur. I really love the game and have sunk 11+ hours into it despite this constant crashing, but it's getting to be a bit ridiculous. I can't finish Baku P3 because I suck in the rain (not your guys' fault, you did a wonderful job when the game runs) and require a couple more rewinds than I'd like to admit on here 🙂 I've sent my DXDiag and Steam info and save files via my email. Hopefully this can be resolved, because as I said, the game is wonderful when it's not locking up my computer.
