  1. just one thing to add ...

remove the in-app help ... it saves us from crying for help and getting frustrated by automatic replies and no real response whatsoever and it save you to pay the people who just sit there and push a button for the autoreply or move them hear and do something.

Adopt F1 rules. Collision from the back, or colliding with car in front - 5 sec penalty added to lap time. Corner cut - ONLY if lap time benefits - 5 sec penalty. stop penalising for accidentally going off track and losing time anyway. Use rules based on Stewards inquiries and  develop some coding to work out who is the aggressor. if unclear - racing incident no penalty.  deliberate multiple colliisions from opponent - disqualification

Stop the engine cut out which disrupts the flow, and just add time to the lap.

presumably  codemasters have all of these algorithms for their flagship f1 game anyway?

the engine cut is also unfair because getting an engine cut before a hairpin - not so bad ... getting an engine cut at the start of the straight in Baku - will cost you a lot more as you will never reach the top speed and will always lacking behind ... cutting the chicane at Monaco - gains you a few seconds

  3. I'm fed up with the penalty system and I'm sure my fellow players (the one who are racing hard but fair) are too. LET'S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

I'm constantly getting penalised for opponents crashing into me.

    - opponent pushing me off, and I mean pushing by t-boning and keeping full throttle on until I hit the wall sideways tenth of meters away from the track - NO PENALTY for opponent

    - using me as their brakes in the corner not even trying to not hit me - NO PENALTY for opponent

    - slowing down on the straight to wait until I'm almost side by side and then side-sweep me into the wall or off track - NO PENALTY for opponent even better I get the penalty

    - opponent pushing past off track - NO PENALTY not even a slow down and when the opponent touches me I get the penalty

    - opponent can cut corners, race off track, spin AI cars around - NO PENALTY - no slow down on what for me is super glue and I'm getting punished by AI cars suddenly pointing my way at 300 Km/h

FELLOW RACERS ... what is your experience?

@ChrisGrovesMCM ... what's in the pipeline to address this?

A couple of ideas (some of them were taken form the 2016 game):

    1. introduce flags

    2. introduce damages to cars

    3. disqualify drivers ... could be immediately or one warning and a time penalty and disqualification the second time (at the moment you can go faster around Monaco for example by cutting the chicane and taking the penalty than driving correctly)

    Nice list @akajk88!

    What's your SR?

I suspect a number of the items are connection speed/lag related,

    A couple more,

LThe game still launches automatically after download, wether you are ready or not.  So if not there, you loose that race and take an SR hit.

You do not get a chance to restore your settings before that first race.

    Thanks @StKnowhere.

my SR is fluctuating a lot (yesterday it ranged from 1.4 to 4.3) the drops are manly due to unfair penalties by opponents crashing into me and I get the penalty for it. I even have phases when the whole purpose of the race is the stay out of the way of the opponent to get the SR out of the red / low yellow zone. It's hard to build a rating up through many races but it only take two idiots to drop you right down. (I think single races should also be rated in the SR)

If some items are connections / lag related it's an issue on CODEMASTERS side and needs sorting (mine is 150MB/s up & down)

Exactly! Everyone was expecting an update of that version of the game. Instead, they chose to mirror the rest of the mobile gaming trend with the microtransactions and short one-off races. It's what makes mobile gaming suck. Every developer just follows the same trend along with the rest of the sheep. It's why every game out there, including this one, is a shallow cash grab attempt. It exists solely to get money out of you and not provide you with a quality gaming experience.

I'm not loosing hope just yet.

  6. Hi all & @ChrisGrovesMCM,

has promised above I've had a bit more time to test the update 6.5.1 and here is the summary:

    Issue fixed / improved:

    - bumpiness of the tracks - IMPROVED still get wheel spin at the top of Radillion ('top' of Au Rouge) also I believe the bumpiness should get less when racing in easy or medium mode

    - traction and stabilityIMPROVED - still needs reviewing. Can you please consider that our accelerator pedal is only 100% on or 100% off. There is still no more downforce at Abu Dhabi or Monaco or Spa.

    - icy kerbs and white lines & 'catapult kerbs' - MOSTLY FIXED - there are a few left (ie. Singapore turn 20 is a catapult kerb)

    issues ignored:

    - my wheels stop rotating during races - IGNORED

    - the game is very jumpy - IGNORED - freezes for a second and when it continous it restarts down the road, you have to guess when to turn or brake etc.

    - the research box descriptions - IGNORED - research and the credit count to finish early) are to small for the greyed out box underneath

    - ghost car - no option to switch off the GHOST car - IGNORED if you actually watch F1 you know how critical it is for the driver to get send out on a clear track with NO distraction to get the best qualifying lap

    - device overheating and game crashing - IGNORED - even starting from scratch my iPad Pro overheats during a 5 lap single race and starts 'stuttering' 3 laps in

    Issues worsened or newly introduced:

unfair penalties - WORSENED - being penalised for other people crashing into you etc.

grid start races - WORSENED - car performance reduced to 80% max compared to single races, over aggressive AI (they are trying to spin me by crashing into the back), opponent is invincible. Wrestling with AI until they point backwards but opponent is absolutely unaffected. In contrast I can’t have the slightest contact with another car without violently spinning out of control and if I manage to catch the car AI cars are just crashing into me at full speed.

    - opponent jumping all over the place  - WORSENED - I've been catapulted high up in the air many times by an opponent disappearing and suddenly reappearing underneath me or an AI car & grid start I get a perfect start and seem to gain on the opponent, split second after the opponent is 2 seconds ahead as if he started on a rolling start, not needing to overtake cars, just driving through them as if driving a different race.

unrealistic and over aggressive AI  - WORSENED - not using brakes and just crashing into you, slowing down in the acceleration zone of corners etc. & they now block you by driving two or three side by side at 'walking speed' ie. Spa at Blanchimond at 210km/h which normal racing speed is close to 300km/h or Monaco

opponents, AI and me seem to drive different races - NEW - this is the only conclusion I come to as it seems the races of the opponent, the AI and myself are disconnected ... that explains the random crashes and the jumping etc.

    - car set up - WORSENED - how can it be that choosing the set up with the 'best' braking makes the braking in the race worse? (that's just an example it also applies to all other set up aspects)

    - Snappy steering - NEW - car doesn’t turn in to the corner in duels as it does in single races ... and when corrected it suddenly snaps to turns even more

    - no DRS behind AI cars - NEW - I should get DRS when within 1 second of any other car, opponent or AI car, and this used to be the case but now I only seem to get DRS off the opponent.

obviously this is purely my observation (played on iPad Pro without assists, drivers view, hard difficulty) as before I'm sure my fellow racers might want to add some other thing.

@ChrisGrovesMCM I'm happy to help you test your beta versions.

    happy racing

Patch 6.5 is now rolling out across all devices for F1® Mobile Racing, to make some optimisations and address community-reported topics! Key changes include:

    - Improvements for synchronisation in Duel - Qualifying
    - Display fix for 'Perfect Start' graphic on affected devices
    - Further improvements to haptic feedback, and an option to disable it
    - Further tweaks to prevent corner-cutting on Silverstone circuit

We're also working on plenty more tweaks, including car/track bumpiness, and will keep you posted on their progress. Thank you for all your feedback and keep enjoying F1® Mobile Racing 🙂

    Dear @ChrisGrovesMCM,

do you remember the feedback you've asked for? (you might want to read this again Update 6 feedback hub)

    - NOS instead of DRS - NEW - REALLY ??? If this is wrong game for that - getting speeds to 420Km/h + (only a staged salt flat run has ever achieved 400 km/h in a F1 car - the fastest speed in race conditions is just over 370km/h)

    - car set up - WORSENED - how can it be that choosing the set up with the 'best' braking makes the braking in the race worse? (that's just an example it also applies to all other set up aspects)

I'm sure my fellow racers have more things to add.

Can you PLEASE ask your developers to try get the basics right first and since you are not testing please LET US HELP YOU and give some of us a beta before releasing it to the world.

    thanks

LOOKS LIKE A PATCH HAS BEEN RELEASE ... THIS MAY ALTER THE REVIEW ABOVE ... BUT LETS SEE UNTIL WE HAD TIME TO TEST IT.

  8. hats off to everyone who is persistent enough to deal with this game. imagine the real F1 to be like the game we would all watch it constantly. It's soooooo random.

    Imagine:

    - the drivers getting on a plane turn up at a random track, they have no time to practice and have to memorise 20+ tracks with all the details

    - get in a random car (it doesn't matter what set-up I choose it's random every time),

    - drive the qualifying inside the opposition (just in case you haven't experienced it yourself, choose the cockpit view and it will look something like this)IMG_1725.thumb.PNG.4f728a84791cd8593cd03171d894f3d2.PNG

    - the drivers will find out what their car feels like at the first corner of the race,

    - well one if they manage to not crash or loose position only to be crashed into by the "Intelligent" other drivers who seem to drive a race where your car doesn't exist,

    - if they are still alive their aero will be randomly removed in corner (one corner the car performs well and in the next it has become a shopping trolley)

    - if they managed the corner they will find out that their dampers and suspension has been removed and they get air on the straight and in fast corners at 300 Km/h

    - if they can manage this, as they should because they are the best drivers in the world, suddenly there are explosives the kerbs, and if they touch them they get catapulted meters into the air.

    - assuming they have survived all of that and managed to finish the race ahead of the opponent CONGRATULATIONS!!!, right? ... only to find out IT DIDN'T count (for weeks races and challenges I have completed have been ignored on the challenges board)

I'm sorry Codemaster (@ChrisGrovesMCM) if you were a Formula 1 team the above would be a major failure and you would have to shut shop quickly.

Why do you put us through something which doesn't resemble the sport we love.

When the game was originally released it seemed to be the upgraded continuation of the amazing 2016 version but it feels like the developer have become obsessed with introducing bumps and details and have lost sight of what makes the game enjoyable.

I still believe it could be the best ever F1 game and I'm optimistic and hopeful that something will be done.

    Thank You

Thanks everyone for their feedback so far 🙂 The team have been using this do drive priorities for the usual post-update patch, which we're aiming to submit today and potentially roll out next week. Priority fixes include:

    - Fix for temporary halts/stoppages in steering when in cockpit view

    - Reduction in bumpiness for some track areas

    - Further improvements in balance/mismatches at the start of Duels

Full patch notes will be added here when the patch is live, but I'll also post when/if there are other community-reported topics that are being addressed. Thanks again!

    Thanks Chris for the update.

Could I ask for an urgent fix for all of us who are racing in cockpit mode.

Please give us the choice of having a ghost car or not ... I prefer to race agains and invisible opponent just like the real F1 but I'm constantly impeded by driving inside the opponent.

    thanks

Just stop making full aero setups and add some handling...

For me car driving far better...

Actually my setup with less handling, more lightweight and more power is much more playable, balanced and controllable than the setup that looks much more balanced (50% more handling, 35% more aero, double the braking, 35% less power, 25% less lightweight ... overall 5% more R&D points)

seems very odd. Not sure the parts are actually doing what they say they do.

    Hey all 🙂

With Update 6 launching yesterday, I'm creating this thread to collate any and all player feedback following U6! To confirm, here are the release notes for what's new in this update:

    - The Season Championship rewards for the halfway point of this GP Events season are now revealed, including the chance to win the official #F1 NEEEUM car livery for your garage. There’s not long to go to until the mid-season point, so get racing!

    - The official chassis of each of this season’s FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP teams are now in F1® Mobile Racing. The regulation chassis for each team will be replaced with the official version in this update, with no purchase or action required.

    - Feel the track with Haptic feedback for selected compatible devices! Adding a new level of immersion to F1® Mobile Racing, experience feedback from your device to take your experience to the next level.

    - We’re adding more ways for players to improve your GP Event scores whilst the event is live. A race reset options means you can restart the Race Series whilst competing in it, giving you another chance to reduce race times and boost your score.

-Further technical and visual improvements, including updated UI in multiple areas, and gameplay tweaks based on community feedback.

    - Check the Shop regularly for more frequent store offers for all kinds of items, including in-game currency and official car packs!

We're already investigating and discussing the feedback we're seeing so far, but some of it is conflicting or doesn't have full information. So, if you spot anything you're unsure about, chuck it in this thread, give as much detail as you can, and we'll look into it. In the meantime, enjoy Update 6! 🙂

    Hi CHRIS,

it's a week now since the update was released and I'm what you've taken away from the feedback so far and WHAT IS THE TEAM WORKING ON to make the game enjoyable by F1 lovers.

So far the game has gone from a good F1 game with gigantic potential to the opening race of Ready Player One (you can watch it online)

I'm excited to hear your learnings.

    Thanks

  12. I've actually performed this stunt a few times ... once I actually ended up in the habour in Monaco (opponent kept disappearing and suddenly reappeared beneath me and catapulted me high up in the air) ... another time I was looking vertically down onto the Singapore track (just by clipping the kerb though)

  13. Update 1.12.6 - issues (as posted before this one was create)

By akajk88,  Friday at 08:33 in Technical Assistance

I'm struggling to believe that these updates are actually tested before being released. From the start I found graphic issues (sooooo obvious) and have major issues with racing. Here are a few examples:

    Graphics:

    - my wheels stop rotating during races

    - the game is very jumpy (freezes for a second and when it continous it restarts down the road) you have to guess when to turn or brake etc.

    - bumpy tracks ... I appreciate that some tracks are bumpy but in real life your vision is different and gets balanced because the focus is on a point in the distance which you can’t achieve with a flickering screen ... this updates feels like driving with binoculars and makes me dizzy and my eyes hurt and gives nausea ...

    - the research box descriptions (research and the credit count to finish early) are to small for the greyed out box underneath

    Racing:

    - car feel like racing on rubber ball ... the car gets air and wheel spin on the straight at 300ish km/h when going over a bump

    - all my downforce I used to have has disappeared so the car looses traction. I can't drive corners in the same way I used to without spinning.

    - kerbs and the white lines along the track are now made of ice. touch them with a single wheel and the car spins off violently.

this is the first impression of a game which I still believe could & should be the best F1 game ever.

I can't see any improvements with this update unfortunately.

All the issues with unfair penalties (being penalised for other people crashing into you etc.), opponent jumping all over the place (I've been catapulted high up in the air many times by an opponent disappearing and suddenly reappearing underneath me or an AI car) , unrealistic AI (not using brakes and just crashing into you, slowing down in the acceleration zone of corners etc.), no option to switch off the GHOST car (if you actually watch F1 you know how critical it is for the driver to get send out on a clear track with NO distraction to get the best qualifying lap) are still unchanged.

    DEAR CODEMASTER

can you please concentrate on fixing the know issues with the driving experience (as above) and not on where the bumps are on the track etc.

    Thank you

PS: I'm playing on an iPad Pro with a 150MB/s connection (both ways)

Oh and one thing I forgot to mention ... why is there an in-app help if you don't get any help but only get told that you 'cry for help' is spam ???

    • Agree 1

  14. There seems to be another reason for being unable to load the game ... and that would be that CODEMASTER locked you out.

I seem to have happen to me after trying to help to improve the game by contacting the in app help. I only got very generic answers and the issues I've raised only got worse over the updates. The peak was the latest update which almost makes the game unplayable for me.

however me asking for help was ignored and classed as spam and were just deleted by CM. Finally as of today I can't open the game anymore ... I've deleted the app and reinstalled it but still can't load it using the previous user name BUT starting from scratch WORKS.

I guess that is the reason why.
