100% true! We all, myself included, facilitate this behavior. Like I said, I’m skipping the next one. Not that they’ll care about one less customer, but it’ll save me some headaches. I rather support a studio that has a passion for their games and the sport. For instance, I’m really impressed with what Milestone has done with the MotoGP franchise.

It’s a sad milestone indeed. As most most people here and as a huge F1 fan, I really want this game to do great. And I don’t mean just financially, but to be the best F1 experience one can get in a game. Sadly I was really disappointed by this years iteration. Especially because they seemed to prioritize microtransactions over innovation and a smooth gaming experience. I also posted a few suggestions, and reported bugs (but I stopped, because I got the feeling it was pointless). As a matter of fact, I’ve stopped playing the game completely by now. I just saw their last Twitter post about their nomination for best game at TIGAAwards, and if we could please vote for them.. that just feels like a huge middle finger to the customer to be honest. 54 people replied to the tweet, mostly negative. The majority of the posts on this forum are also negative, including a couple of my own replies. I’m not trying to be a **** here. But I really hope Codemasters shifts direction soon. But honestly, I don’t see that happening. F1 2021 is the first one I’m skipping sinds 2015. I love F1, but this is just frustrating and isn’t worth my time and money anymore.

That’s true, it would only work properly with the two t-cam views (as it does on tv). The other views would just use the regular OSD, I guess. I’m no developer, so I wouldn’t know how to go about it exactly. I’m just looking at it from a customers perspective. But thanks for logging it as a suggestion, and who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky.
-
I’m sure I’m not the only one.
-
That’s too bad 😔 However, I do have to disagree with the “realism reason”. The MFD, mini map, rear view mirror, proximity arrows, t-cam, etc. aren’t realistic either, but we still use them in races. Turning off the regular OSD and having all relevant information on the halo hud, would be more immersive.. (and also just really cool for F1 fans). Anyway, it was just a suggestion. Thanks for the reply ✌️

Ehh, I have no idea what you mean by that.
-
Thanks 👍

Hopefully they will on next gen.
-
Sorry, it’s just a screenshot from the actual race. Can you answer my question too please?
-
Not really, a short Twitter post would be more then enough.
-
Yeah, that’s not how you announce things to a large audience imo.
-
@BarryBL You could’ve posted this sooner.. for everyone to read! Or just put it up on twitter. This just isn’t fun anymore.

I agree. Although I’m in favor of regular dlc packs (cars & tracks) instead of bitcoins, but that’s another topic. But I get what you’re saying, Codemasters is really soiling their own bed here. But it seems that at this time the benefits of their current course still outweigh the costs of actually listening to their community.
-
The fact is as long as people keep buying the game and ofcourse those **** bitcoins the stakeholders are going to happy. They couldn’t care less about our opinions or the state their game is in. If they would care, or had some respect for their customers, there at least would be some form of proper communication.

It seems more and more people are getting fed up with this. https://mobile.twitter.com/formula1game The reply’s speak volumes.
-
Sadly this is true. It was clear from the start that My Team was solely designed for this purpose.
-
Maybe.. and here’s just a crazy idea.. they should fix them! Preferably before releasing the game 😉 And even if it was “just” a quarter of the amount it is now, it still would be way to much. I really don’t see the point in defending these guys anymore. And this is coming from a long time Codemasters fan.
-
I know right.. I’m not sure if they’re intentionally lying, or just incompetent. And how much are you willing to bet that the next update.. if it finally arrives, breaks something else. The F2 2020 update is also a mystery. Not even an update, apology or an explanation... seriously!? The lack of communication is appalling. Just look at their Twitter, every post is followed by dozens of complaints and hatefull reactions. Nobody cares. Meanwhile the gameplay bug page is at 84 pages!!! WHAT?!? 😱 In the mean time they’re just working on getting more liveries in the store for you to buy.. (with the holidays just around the corner) you know, the number one priority in a racing game!! 😝 ...And id1ots like myself keep buying the game.. well I’m done.. I’m so sick of Codemasters atm.
-
I agree, in about 6-7 months they’ll anounce F1 2021 and there will be no more need for F1 2020 on PS5. So upgrading would be a waste of time, effort and money. But by that logic, they shouldn’t have a item shop in their game either. But that’s just waisted money from the consumers.. and who gives a **** about them anyway.. Greed > customer service everytime! And that’s just my 2 cents.. I hope I’m wrong though.
-
Perhaps, but the amount of problems and missing features in this game is sadly still way to high.
-
I’m guessing no.. but I bet you can expect some holiday themed liveries in the store 😜
-
Well I guess I’m not the only one who feels like this about the F1 games. “HUGE UNEXPLOITED POTENTIAL“ indeed. Especially as the new features from the last two years center around getting as much microtransactions in the game as possible. I’d also like to see another studio take over the F1 mantle, just look at what Milestone has done with MotoGP 20. Everything about that game gives you the feeling it was made by people who are passionate about motorsport. Unpredictable races, great ai, good looking graphics, classic bikes, classic tracks, classic riders, full livery editor! I love F1 as a sport more, but I feel MotoGP 20 is the better racing game this year. The same goes for WRC 9, extra tracks, some from the previous season, free and paid dlc.. no microtransactions, ugly liveries or stupid dancing drivers. I seriously question Codemasters passion for the sport, I get the feeling they’re just trying to maximize their profits with a yearly low effort slightly updated copy of last years game. And another thing.. they should change the career mechanics. I have to keep my employees happy by saying nice things about them in the media?.. and if I don’t, they sabotage my upgrades 🙄 what are they.. 12? Shouldn’t they be happy they have a job in the top tier of motorsport!? And shouldn’t they just get fired for insubordination? And seriously.. 81 pages in the gameplay issues and bugs section. And 27 pages of suggestions. How are they getting away with this?... I mean, seriously.. how? My prediction for F1 2021: more of the same, with a shallow new mode and way more intrusive microtransactions. I’m stepping away from the series for now. Unfortunately F1 2020 has me severely disappointed. Although there is some fun to be had, the points mentioned above killed it for me. Sorry for venting, but this game is just such an insult for long time (adult) fans of the sport. Take care, stay healthy.

I get what you’re saying. I’m a big fan of the F1 games too, but it seems Codemasters bit off a bit more then they could chew. I’ve never seen so much complaints in the gameplay issues page ever before I wish Codemasters would stop adding new features and would focus on little improvements throughout the game. The focus this year is all about My Team and the Podium Pass, both launched with a lot of issues and both where added to implement microtransactions. Instead of a livery editor, you’re buying these ugly liveries and stupid emotes. Instead of adding and fixing the things long time F1 fans care and complain about for years (you’ve mentioned a few good points there), it’s all about getting the younger audience to fork over some extra cash.

@BarryBL is turning off the MFD header option removed, or relocated? I had it turned off in 2019, but I can’t seem to find the same option in 2020.
