For a one year game they need to remove micro-transactions and make all items free.  People hardly ever revert to previous racing game except to race on missed tracks or drive classic cars, so what's up with having to pay for **** that will becomes obsolete in a year's time???!!!

    Exactly!
Podium Pass/Pitcoin shenanigans in a €70 a year game is malicious imo.

And how about no items at all, but a livery editor instead.

EA does what it does because the majority of the people buying their games like, or at least do not mind, what they are doing.

F1 players over the last two years have apparently shown that they don’t mind the microtransactions, pitcoins and podium pass shenanigans. I’m sure that caught EA’s attention pretty quick too.

  3. I’m afraid the F1 games are pretty much done by now. T2 and EA are both terrible companies, but to be fair F1 2020 has also been in a terrible shape since launch. Even if they wouldn’t sell, I wouldn’t have great expectations for the coming years.

It’s a sad time to be an F1 fan and a gamer.

Hopefully Gran Turismo 7 will scratch that racing itch next year.

  4. Has anyone noticed the barrier on the Bahrain track while playing F2 2020 championship keeps flashing in and out of existence?

Also on the second straight there are no brake markers anymore (PS4 pro, 1.14)

@BarryBL is this a known issue? - Never mind, apparently it has been reported.

  5. I only play Championship & GP mode, but I can confirm Bottas is massively overpowers in these modes too. Almost always on pole and winning the race too. Meanwhile Hamilton drives like the real life Bottas. (Patch 1.14)

Does anyone know if this is being looked at?

    What's your expectations from F1 2021?

    Lots of microtransactions, sadly..

I also expect to skip it, in favor of GT7 which should launch around the same time.

  7. @BarryBL can you please explain this tweet? It’s a bit vague.

It won’t affect the career save. will it affect a new save game?

Will it affect the championship/grand prix mode?

So what does it actually do, or doesn’t do?

  8. I’m wondering why they’ve introduced microtransactions/Podium Pass in the F1 series (besides the obvious).

Now with the Take Two take over the topic of microtransactions keeps coming up more often.

Other Codemasters games, like Dirt Rally 2.0, Grid an now Dirt 5, all get a Season Pass/DLC packs. Which I prefer over the microtransactions in F1. Mainly because of the better content and the less intrusive way they are implemented.

Even if you don’t care about all the cosmetics, like me, you’re still bombarded with the Podium Pass XP counter after every race. It ruined the game for me and now I don’t even bother with it anymore. I regretted buying F1 2020 almost instantly, while I played all the previous F1 games well upon to the release of the next one.

I’m not against spending extra money on games, I do it all the time. If I like a game, I’ll always buy the season pass or Deluxe edition. I have no problem buying a € 100 Deluxe Edition, with a season pass included and get some decent extra content.

So why isn’t F1 getting monetized like other Codemasters games? Is it licensing, development time, just easy money or something else?

*genuine question, I’m not dissing on Codemasters or the people running this forum. I’m just curious.

I’m sure I’m the minority when it comes to this, and I fully expect it to get worse with the coming F1 games. In my opinion this “mobile game type monetization” harms the game. Well, my enjoyment of it anyway.

I’d hate to see more micro transactions. When you pay £65 for a next gen game and then additional cash to gain stuff, frustrates those who don’t have that money let alone the principal of not handing over additional cash.

I don’t have a problem with spending extra money on a game. Actually, I’d love to see a € 20 - € 30 season pass with some additional content, like tracks and cars.

I just hate the way they do it now, with the Podium Pass and the way they try to push you to purchase in game currency (for very dumb items, no F1 fan actually cares about anyway).

After every race the Podium Pass is always in your face, very obtrusive and it ruins the game for me to the point that I just don’t bother anymore.

I’d buy a € 100 Deluxe Edition with season pass over this “mobile game type monetization” any day.

    DLC > microtransactions

I am with you @BarryBL   😉 but I have to say HAM increased very much with his behavior and character, so he deserves that as well.

Schumacher has a somewhat legendary cult status by now, well deserved of course. But I’m often surprised that people forget he could also be kind of a dirty driver 😇

  11. I see, that’s too bad. Well, thnx anyway.

While I debate Hamilton being the best driver in F1 history (always Schumi for me)

Hamilton fan here, but yeah, I can appreciate that 😉

  12. @BarryBL any word about the Mercedes halo’s?

    Replicated, logged and reported @StanleyGoodspeed

I noticed patch 1.13 is out, but nothing about the Mercedes liveries was mentioned in the patch notes.

Mercedes is champion, and Hamilton as of yesterday the best F1 driver in history.. 🤗 so I find it a little strange that their liveries aren’t accurate.

They have an ideal opportunity to break the mould here. Cars frozen for 2021 and tracks missing from 2020 due to Covid, DLC? Nope.

Really they could do a F1 2020 to F1 2021 update and add the tracks from this year. People will do it, the game will have longevity and they have no excuse for not fixing the bugs.

A biannual release with a paid DLC roster and track update for the next season, would be much better indeed.

    But, you know.. money 🤑

The thing is. the fact that we 'facilitate' doesn't make codies policies and way of scamming their customers less disgusting.
They have a monopoly on f1 games. and people are always gonna buy it.

You can't expect people to make the right call in these matters. People just want to play f1 games. however **** they might be because there is no alternative.

Doesn't mean we can't call them on their scams. their lies. and their total incompetence. YES, I bought it.
But then again THEY said they were gonna make multiplayer a priority. They promised the world. and didn't openly communicate the terrible state the game that we would buy was in.
They even pay reviewers to keep quiet about all the bugs so you need to buy it to find out that they've been lying again.

More funny still: they want us to vote the game racing game of the year 🤣

Yes, people are gonna keep buying it, and no, it doesn’t make it less disgusting. And yes, you should definitely say something. I have for years, but now I’m just tired of this ****. Nothing ever changes.

you already know next year is going to be exactly the same.

They’ll just laugh as they ignore our suggestions, and launch another set of skins to the item store.

At some point you just have to step away. Gaming is supposed to fun, remember.
I’m actually enjoying MotoGP 20 right now (I wouldn’t mind Milestone getting the F1 license tbh).

Also, have you read the replies on that Twitter post? 😂

You bought it. That's the take away from the experience, what CM take to the bank each and every year.

100% true! We all, myself included, facilitate this behavior. Like I said, I’m skipping the next one. Not that they’ll care about one less customer, but it’ll save me some headaches.
I rather support a studio that has a passion for their games and the sport. For instance, I’m really impressed with what Milestone has done with the MotoGP franchise.
