    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

That is exactly my setup @Opassac. Everything off. Soft lock ON, 1080 degrees. I dont have an H gearbox though. I am just saying (like other people) there should be two separated leaderboards. One for assists on and one for assists off. Exactly like there should be separation between wheel players and joypad players. It makes no sense to mix the results together .....

THANK YOU JAKE ! I am alone right @lalaeinstein ? Sure. All alone I talk for myself and that is it. Shut up really.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

@lalyrn (why there is no way to tag you ?) all that massive post of yours just not to acknowledge the simplest of the things. If there are two categories of players (assists on / assists off) while there cannot be two different leaderboards ? I am not Colin McRae and I am not sure I am as good as you. What would that prove exactly in your opinion ? If I do the same track (regardless the track conditions) with assists on and assists off there is a difference of 10/15 seconds on average. I have tried it myself I am not talking to give air to my lungs .. I have tried it I know what I am talking about ! All your speculations about the effects of the assists dont take in consideration the fact that DR2 is not the real world at all and assists are not working the same way they work in real life (not at all). It would be very nice if they would but they dont. I just ask for two separated leaderboard is it such an awful preposterous unacceptable thing for you ? It makes perfect sense and WE agree with that. Me and a lot of other people and please stop attacking me because it is quite annoying and PLUS it is NOT the first time you are doing this. Sorry to be straight but it is the way I am.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

While it is known and very clear that Assists give you a huge boost in time advantage the fact people without assists are slower is due (relative to the example you just gave) to the fact that the wheels are spinning (as you say) so without assists you are slower than the one with assists. If it would not be the case then what would be the purpose of Assists exactly in your opinion ?

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

I can confirm you (and I will prove it with a video shortly this evening) that you will save up to 20 seconds driving normally in any track compared to your normal times if you enable the assists in DR2. It is really an annoying situation which should have been addressed since the beginning IMHO.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

Let's all hope this will not be a "dropped and abandoned" issue by CM. It is extremely important for the fairness of the game that drivers with assists enabled wont share the same leaderboards with players that actually can drive properly and dont need that kiddie sad little cheats to play.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

No you cannot unfortunately. There is no way to know if a specific player in the leaderboard used assists or not.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

@richie now I am working and I cant record a video myself but if you have time give it a quick check. Set all Assists to ON and to the max (5), do one Time trial you usually do and check the difference in the times. We are not talking about some hundredths of a second, we are talking about 15/20 seconds if not more of unfair advantage. Try it yourself.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

I so much agree with you man. I really hope @PJTierney will forward this internally to be fixed once for all.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

That is nothing but cheating @PJTierney ..... no way sorry. You could argue: "if it is allowed it is not cheating". I would answer: "Technically no in reality enabling the Assists makes DR2 as easy as an arcade game and the furthest thing from realism and fun ever". I am rather sure, even though I cant prove it unfortunately, that the top of all leaderboards is full of players with Assists ON.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

Thank you for your answer PJ. I am pretty sure that with the Assists on I could improve my times of even 20 seconds (if not more) but that is CHEATING man. If you know how to drive and you want to enjoy this game to the fullest (and in the most possible realistic way) you have to drive without assists. If you ask around every good player here would be disgusted just by the idea of using Assists. We are not cheaters we love this game but we want to compete fairly. There should be two different leaderboards one for pro drivers without assists and one for noobs with assists. I am going to record a video later to show how much time I can get if I enable assists. Really it is something that has too be looked into @PJTierney exactly like the big problem with the weather effects in VR making the driver basically unable to see the track.

    Assists faster vs Non-Assists?

You dont understand the point. The point is not eliminating Assists or saying people should not use them. It is about not having their times in the same leaderboard of the pro which are not using ANY assist cause the game is 100x more fun (and realistic) without them. What is a shame is having their race times merged with the ones of the pro drivers without assists. This is completely unfair. It is like having two different car classes racing in the same category ! Do you understand now ?

    RAIN in UK

Again this thing ? Do you really think that in the extreme weather conditions that we see in VR a rally organizer would not stop the race ? They would stop the race immediately if it is so severe the drivers cannot see the track ! It is not a matter of realism or not. It is just too much in VR you cannot see the track man. On a 2D screen it is totally another story same weather conditions and you can see the track. It is that simple.

    DiRT Rally 2.0 Car Setups

I dont get it. Wouldn't it be easier for everybody to have a place where you can download/upload the setups ?

And so what ? Enable the workshop only for the Steam edition and that is it. I dont see the problem here ...

Dont misunderstand me man the VR implementation is actually really great. There were a LOT of problems in the beginning after release but CM fixed them and now it is an AMAZING sim racing experience in VR. Personally IMHO it is 10x better than PC2 (which I like very much as well BTW). I am the first to say I love this game, every time I remove my HMD after a session of playing I am WOW what a great game, but there are still important issues to be addressed and they are becoming urgent. I have listed my issues in the previous post.
  17. I'd love to be able to do the same thing man if only I would not have to retire from events when there is heavy rain or heavy snow because like all the other VR players I am unable to see the track ... It is ages we are saying this thing and so far we did not get any answer. I keep on trying and I dont give up. This game is AMAZING but desperately needs fixes to make it enjoyable for all the players despite their gaming platform.
  18. Yeah it would be awesome if it would not be for the little insignificant detail that in VR with heavy snow or heavy rain you cannot see the track and you have to retire from the event. With heavy rain it is like racing the car under the Niagara falls ..... if on top of it you have the magic combo night + heavy rain the only option is to retire. Lots of fun isnt it ? Please PJ listen to us and do something for curbing the weather effect in VR or simply allow VR players to disable the weather effects entirely. I am not talking, of course, about the track conditions (which should not change) but only about the intensity of the weather graphical effects that really needs to be curbed down extensively.

While I agree with you this game is spectacular and I am enjoying it like possibly no other game before, there are big flaws that really need to be corrected. - Weather in VR is absolutely exaggerated to a point in which you are forced to retire from the event cause you cannot literally see the track. - Players using Assists are allowed to set their times in the leaderboards. This is of course totally unfair. Real proper players turn off all assists (we are not noobs) but of course if you have all Assists enabled you can easily get 30 seconds advantage compared to normal (and not cheating) players. - Use of Steam Workshops for sharing tuning setups like it was in DR1. Nobody knows/understands why Codemasters did not do that.

    Dirtgame Official Club Sweden Whiteout

I love Sweden it is by far my favorite rally track (as long as it stays in Day light clear weather of course).
  21. @PJTierney I have just tried to compete in Sweden in the official Dirtgame Club ... Of course despite more and more people telling that in Sweden with night and snowing it is complete witheout in VR you had to set the weather in the 12 stages of Sweden. Instead of setting day clear for all stages you had to put the weather in it. Result is VR players are strongly affected because they literally cant see basically anything. Why not setting day clear for all stages and make it equal for all players despite the platform they are using ? This is completely totally unfair man. We have repeated over and over a million times take the weather out of VR or make it in a way we can see the road while we drive. It is totally unfair we (VR players) cannot compete like that

    RAIN in UK

Indeed it does man you are right. What you see in the video is not exactly what you see in VR. It is a lot worse in VR unfortunately 😞

    RAIN in UK

I dont know man you must have the x-ray sight really because I cant see the track and I have an Oculus Rift CV1 like you and a GTX1080ti. Yeah me too I can arrive until the end of the track but dont you think it is somehow preposterous to arrive 19 (like you) when with daylight clear I would nail it. It cant be like that AI is totally indifferent to the weather conditions ... whatever happens they do the same times as daylight clear. How can this be fair ? This is the video of me in heavy rain night ... I cant see ****.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I would say DR2 def has tough competitors like Stormland, Asgard's Wrath but as per now it is the best VR game of the year.,

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Could be man but the fact it has no VR, which makes it a total no go for me. No VR No buy.
