  1. It's just a stupid art decision. The whole game is overly bloomy and bright. Kinda the opposite of the original, they went too far with the distance fogging.
  2. The game lacks sense of speed, especially inside the car.

WRC 8 vs DiRT Rally 2.0

In the triggers, yes. Regular rumble works.

WRC 8 vs DiRT Rally 2.0

There are many things I prefer in WRC8, and some I don't. Rumble trigger support works, yet somehow not in DR2.0 because it's not DX12? Well, neither is WRC8. Weather and time of day, tarmac, sense of speed, stages (for the most part) are miles ahead of DR2.0 for me. The best stages in DR2.0 are remasters, that's really sad. Even then, they kind of lost their soul and look off due to the weather or time of day choices. Extreme brightness is the order of the day for DR2.0 The massive BUT, is that WRC8 does not feel good on high refresh monitors/gsync. It just never feels smooth no matter what I try.

    Greece SS DR1 vs DR2.0

Please stop blinding us with bloomy skies and cloud Dirt 2.0. How about some clear skies? Or some proper overcast skies? Man, WRC is miles ahead in weather and time options.

    Things WRC8 does better

Do you have dynamic FOV on? Maybe that's it, I have it off.

    Things WRC8 does better

    - sense of speed, glaringly obvious when going back to Dirt Rally how slow it seems. - tarmac handling is much more fun in WRC8. Tarmac stages are awesome too... - Modern WRC cars are just a lot of fun and noticeably quicker/nimbler than the R5's - The test area puts Dirt to shame, so much to explore and heaps of variation. - You pick the stage and you get straight into the stage, no waiting around for the pre-stage sequence and useless pre-stage notes. The whole menu process is so quick and it remembers it all - no post-stage comments from co-driver - co driver voice, while not amazing... still sounds like he's actually reading through an intercom - not sitting down for story time. Wish Dirt would make it sound a bit more realistic.

    Dashcam/Rumble triggers

Great, though t-cam should replace dashcam on formula cars. Now just rumble triggers please codies.

    Things WRC8 does better

Not a bash thread, just things that I'd like to see from WRC8 that aren't really in DR2.0 - Much more realistic colour palette, Codies seem to favour the bright and colourful approach https://imgur.com/a/jTRwgR6 - Way more weather/time options. Dirt really struggles here, in WRC you can get actual clear skies, actual overcast skies and everything else. Dirt is very stylised, seems aimed at taking fancy screenshots. - Dashcam (coming to DR2.0 finally) - Haptic feedback - Long stages, especially the new ones - are great and offer something different to Dirt. Of course, there are things Dirt does much better too. Anything else to add for people who have tried both?

    DiRT Rally 2.0: Seasons 3 & 4

This game just gets better. Dashcam coming soon. Still need rumble trigger support and more overcast variants though _b

    Overcast conditions

Greece has a day overcast variant, nice.... Still think the heavy rain condition without the rain would be cool. Dry/wet surface https://imgur.com/a/ErLxd8a

    Overcast conditions

and when will fog make a return? Some really strange omissions from this game that were already in dirt rally and dirt 4. Dashcam sure took its time too...

    Overcast conditions

Can we get a proper day/overcast? (Wales especially) I think Codies have really gone overboard with the brightness in current weather conditions. There isn't enough threatening conditions that aren't raining, can we get the heavy rain conditions without the rain? Skies look good, but we don't need the sun bleering through ALL the time, even when supposedly overcast. Most locations have Sunny. Cloudy (but still sunny) and rainy. Overcast is missing. Poland has proper overcast, the game looks good when it's not so bright and saturated but so few stages have a decent overcast setting.
  14. Please have both of these at launch! It's taken until next patch for Dirt Rally 2.0 to bring back dash cam, and they're still missing rumble trigger support which F1 2019 has. All racing games should have these two features... no idea why they would be left out.
