  1. @UnderclassGDfan Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it. I was actually looking at those options last night after trying everything else and was hoping that it wouldn't come to that. That's pretty sad that some users are having to entirety reset their single player progress because of incompatibility after a certain number of patches. Shame on me for playing the game since shortly after launch.

Me, but I have the game crashing, no error message 😞

My game freezes and crashes after doing the first stage of a My Team rally championship. I get the error message when I launch the game and go back to events to try again.

  4. Xbox One X

    V 1.16.0

    Standard controller

When I tried to start a new rally championship in My Team today to start engine mapping the Ford Fiesta R5 MKII, I got the following message: "Championship Reset - Your My Team Rally championship has been reset, because a discrepancy between local and server save data was detected." The game proceeded to crash with 6 different cars in 6 different locations after completing the first stage of a new championship and clicking continue. I got the same error message every time after relaunching the game. I have tried removing the local save data and letting it resynchronize from Xbox Live which did not resolve the issue. The game crashed just the same as before. I then proceeded to remove the local save file and completely uninstalled the game. I reinstalled the game and all 59 DLC files and the game synchronized my save file from Xbox Live again. I still have the exact same issue where it crashes after the very first stage of a My Team rally championship when I click continue. This makes the single player career mode unplayable. My Xbox One X is in great condition and has no other issues. Is anyone else having similar issues or had issues like this in the past? If anyone has any ideas please help me. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  5. Here is my Dirt Rally 3.0 wish list that I will add to, elaborate on and edit over time:

Let me start by saying that I really love the Dirt Rally 2.0 game. I bought it shortly after release and have been playing it ever since. It is my favorite modern racing game to date. Just as in real racing, things can almost always be improved. These are some suggestions and ideas that I think would be really nice to see implemented in the next Dirt Rally game. I realize that these are just my opinions and do not represent the views of everyone in this community and I fully expect people to disagree with some of these things. That is completely fine and I welcome it because I think it works towards generating better ideas when done in a productive manner or at least showing what the majority of people would like to see even if those views differ from my own. Please read this knowing that I wrote this not to attack anything in Dirt Rally 2.0 but to try and get people talking more specifically about things or solutions that might make the next game even better.

A new game engine that supports 30+ km stages that is not held back by previous gen hardware constraints (Xbox Series S/X, PS5 and similar PC performance only). Designing a game that supports the old hardware will definitely constrain what can be done and hold the series back significantly. New hardware doesn't matter as much if software capabilities aren't advancing with equal progression. I would really love to see at least two 30+ km stages per location. You can chop those up and reverse them for more variety but I would love to see stages that are 2-3 times as long as they currently are. It's time to move away from the current EGO engine, into something with less constraints. New console (PS5 & Xbox Series X) and PC GPUs can read textures directly from high speed NVMe drives allowing for much greater detail and much longer stages. If you choose to support older hardware with slow storage it's going to be a huge compromise and hold the series back. Please do something really innovative and blow us away with rally immersion. I hope the next Dirt Rally and WRC games from Codemasters doesn't use the Dirt 5 engine, unless it is highly modified to suit stage rally and rallycross. Please maintain the focus on true to life rally simulation and don't water it down for the masses. I want to see more simulation aspects added along with the graphical improvements. People call Dirt Rally 2.0 "the Dark Souls of rally games" and I absolutely love it. Since the numbered Dirt and Dirt Rally teams are separate, there should be a big difference in the resulting experiences.

A better lighting model where headlights and light pods illuminate further and in a more realistic manner both at night and during the day in dim areas. As it is there are areas in multiple locations where even though it is quite dim, the headlights barely do anything. It would be pretty cool to have ray tracing but done in a way to limit the performance hit.

Dynamic weather or being able to set weather intervals to trigger during the stage could be cool if done well. It would be neat to start and half way through it starts to rain. The following stage could start with rain and then gradually dry out as you exit the edge of a rain shower. If not dynamic weather, then more weather options per location. Please do not lock weather or conditions to locations such as fog. Fog as an option is great but no other options is not good in my opinion.

Dynamic Surface Degradation 3.0 where the the road surface is more detailed and options to make road order even more meaningful. It would be amazing to actually be able to alter rally location surface types and surface subtypes. (I.e. small, medium and heavy gravel, smooth, medium and rough asphalt, add rocks, water puddles, muddy sections, etc)

It would be really cool if there were stage editing tools where you could create your own stages and share them like in Dirt 5. I feel like being able to create the road section of a stage, being able to alter width, elevation, camber, surface type and surface texture throughout the stage and then have it generate the location around it could be interesting if given the tools and items to modify it to your liking. You could add muddy sections, water puddles, rocks, trees, fog conditions, dust conditions and tons of other hazards and details. Instead of a random stage generator it would be a semi-custom stage generator.

A better physics model that does away with the center pivot model and includes HUGE improvements to asphalt handling. This would be really cool if it included a model where the tires are actually interacting with the road surface. Along these lines, I would love to see tire choice be more meaningful and to have remaining tire tread represented in a graph or percentage for each tire so we can see the wear at the end of each stage. It would be neat to see tire pressure and stage temperatures come into play as well. A partnership with Michelin to get proper rally tire engineering data would be amazing since they will no longer be the WRC tire supplier, focusing more on national/regional rally tire supply. I learned that the new Forza Motorsport game will have a new tire pressure model, new heat interaction with tire pressure, dynamic track temperatures, rubber-in on tracks, new suspension system with new modeling and a new atmosphere pressure system affecting air density, dynamics, and power. The game is also rumored feature off-road and rally locations. It would be great to see some or all of these things incorporated into Dirt Rally 3.0 in meaningful ways.

An improvement to AI times and consistency versus my skill level. The new consoles have much more powerful CPUs and GPUs so these can definitely be put to good use. A dynamic AI that adjusts based on previous stage performance might be something that could be done. I realize this idea is a little out there. A more practical solution would be balanced AI with a slider to adjust pace.

A color palette that was geared more towards realism and less stylized would be nice for future stages.

A more realistic damage model and a drop down menu with different levels of severity for the
    damage model.

It would be nice for players that drive in a cockpit view if the weather effects were more balanced as to not penalize players more for using an interior view. It is very difficult to see in Sweden using an interior camera. Also, it would be nice if the rain effects on the side windows were toned down because a properly prepared rally car with rain-x or other hydrophobic coating would repel water buildup rather nicely on all of the windows that it was applied to. As it is now, there is way too much water accumulation on the side windows. Since quite a lot of time is spent with the car sideways, it makes it very difficult to see even in conditions that would not warrant that type of visual impairment in real life (expected incoming pictures of rain conditions showing that it is difficult to see out of side windows...but in vehicles where no hydrophobic rain coating or anti-fog chemicals have been applied).

I would like to see my rank along with the total number of people that have completed an event whether it be a daily, weekly, monthly or club event. If I managed to finish 189th in a daily, whether that is good or not depends on how many people participated. If there were only 195 people then suddenly that is not that great. I know there are tiers 1-4 that correspond to percentage ranks but top 10% of 10,000 seems cooler than top 10% of 100 participants. As others have stated above, I would love to see much more data to compare myself with other players such as average stage/event speed, tires used, input type, rank within total number of participants, top 20 ghost replays to see what faster players are doing to achieve times, telemetry data that displays steering/throttle/brake/handbrake/selected gear/RPM simultaneously over ghost replays)

I would love to see fantastic modern and classic cars from Hyundai, Toyota, Volvo and other manufacturers featured in the next game. I would also like to see the new Rally3 and Rally4 cars that should be replacing R5 and R2 class cars if I am not mistaken. Also, I have seen new R4 class cars that look great that would be great to have in the game.

It would be so amazing to be able to do each stage in a recce mode and be able to select/customize your pacenotes. I absolutely love Phil Mills voice and I would be sad to see him replaced but I would like there to be more detailed notes in the next title. If you think that would be too much for some players then make a toggle for advanced or detailed notes where they are scaled back to only the most critical information for less skilled drivers that have less pace or can’t handle/don’t want that much information.

Please don’t go more into managing a team as far as hiring and firing staff members and replacing them with better ones. I like that the Dirt Rally games are driver focused and hiring/firing an engineer is something that the human resources branch of the team would do and not something that I am interested in micromanaging as a driver. Hiring an engineer and upgrading abilities for a focused team (i.e. Dirt Rally 2.0) is one thing but having to constantly swap out engineers and other team members because they are fatigued is not fun to me. I am not looking to be the nap time director. I don’t think you are moving in this direction but wanted to give my 2 cents worth on this topic.

Continued VR support for future titles

Triple screen support that has FOV adjustments, screen bezel adjustments and options for getting the image corrected so that nothing looks skewed/warped.

Will you please add the ability to adjust the two dash camera views? Can a greater range of adjustment be added to the cockpit view that has the steering wheel? It would be really nice to have a toggle to show or hide the steering wheel for wheel users that don't necessarily want to use the dash camera views.

I think a multiplayer stage mode where you can race the stage at the same time as your friends where they are ghosted and vica versa might be quite fun. I think it would so be neat if the game supported sending challenges where you could set up the stage or event conditions and send a notification that would take them directly to the challenge and then you could see the detailed results of those challenges. This could be like a custom daily challenge for your friends.

Clubs 3.0 dailies, weeklies and monthlies with more data, options and modes to get people interacting, competing and comparing stats with each other. When I complete a stage or event, I would really like to see my rank along with the total number of participants, the stage name, average stage/event speed, input type (controller or wheel), amount of time penalties, selected tire compound, selected car, stage time, total time, camera view, etc. I also want to be able to filter by this information. It would be cool to see how you stack up against other controller or wheel players in a more detailed manner.

Ability to be able to turn headlights and wipers on/off before the start of the stage.

It would be interesting to make brake bias mappable to buttons to allow for changes while driving the car.

Improvements to FFB feel, support and adjustment options. It would be fantastic for it to actually feel like you were driving a real rally car and for the wheel to be able to convey road surface, road texture, ruts, bumps, off balance landings, understeer, oversteer and be able to react or make corrections as a result. If the front wheels are pushing instead of turning the car, it would be helpful to feel that. If I am getting the car sideways, I would like to feel that in such a significant way that I can respond in time and keep from spinning. If you don't already, please support pedal sets that have vibration motors on the gas and brake pedals. Basically what you do for impulse triggers but for pedals that have this feature. Please support lower priced wheels all the way up to the best direct drive wheels from Fanatec, Simucube and SimSteering2 by Leo Bodnar. There is so much detail that could add to the experience. I haven't play Dirt Rally 2.0 with a wheel but would really like to get one for 3.0 if the FFB is done well.

A few unexpected moments that could be added to the next game as nonpermanent conditions could be lingering dust, fog in certain sections of stages, etc.

  6. I have my driver seating position all the way back and down in every car in the game. If the steering wheel covers the shift lights that would be a real bummer. I don't want to drive like I'm a giraffe 🦒. Seriously disappointed if it is blocked in this position and if the steering wheel buttons flicker. I'm going to check it out when I get home and will update my post with my results. I was very excited for this car and am excited about the sound update for the VW Polo GTI R5. If this is the last update then there is little hope that this gets fixed...sigh. I'm trying not to jump to any conclusions until I try it for myself.

Update: Sad to say but the shift lights are blocked in the default cockpit seating position of this car which was all the way down and back without any adjustments. The steering wheel buttons do indeed flicker on this car (Xbox One X V1.16). I'm very glad to have the car, just disappointed at these couple of details. To some this is nitpicking but I guess I have been spoiled with all of the other car's driving position views.

Is it just me or is the anti-lag very quiet using cockpit view? I can barely make it out. I watched the third person view anti-lag video and it sounded good but all of that seems to be lost using onboard driving views.

Shouldn't the in-game car be better about off-throttle to on-throttle response since it has anti-lag? I have watched several videos of the real car and the throttle response was mega in these situations.

I am somewhat bewildered by concerns of this car being faster than the previous version. If it's not faster and improved in meaningful ways then what is the point and why should anyone be excited about a new car? Manufacturers don't usually set out to make an identical performing car to the previous version. I do understand not wanting to have a car that vastly outperforms the other ones in the class but I am fine with it as long as it is accurate. I wouldn't want a car's performance nerfed in a game just for the sake of car balance if it is indeed a faster car. These things wouldn't be as much of an issue if you could specify which specific cars can or cannot be used in multiplayer events.

A huge THANK YOU to Codemasters for making such a great game. This is my favorite modern racing game to date.

  7. If there is not at least 100+ vehicles, I will be seriously disappointed. I would not understand how there could possibly be fewer than that when a game limited to rally cars (Dirt Rally 2.0) has 81 unique vehicles. Also, I think Dirt 2 + Dirt 3 had over 80 vehicles in each game and the number should be going up not down. Some of these vehicles are appearing in multiple games (DR 2.0 and Grid 2019), which helps maximize potential profits for the time spent modeling those cars. With 13 car classes, I expect there to be many cars in Dirt 5. When games like Forza Horizon 4 launch with over 450+ unique vehicles, expecting at least one fourth of that is not unreasonable to me. Locations matter but so does the vehicle roster. If the game is light on vehicles, people are definitely going to notice. Hopefully they don't disappoint.

  8. From what I am seeing on demo impression videos, people that are seasoned racers, think the game handling model is too easy even with all the assists turned off.

I hope this is adjusted so that with all assists off, the game is challenging and throttle and brake inputs are more meaningful with proper feedback through the impulse triggers for Xbox One/S/X/Series X, the adaptive triggers for PS5 and FFB steering wheels.

I understand that it is an arcade game but am hoping that in the launch build of the game, all assists off will make it more rewarding for counter-steering and nailing those powerslides with the right amount of throttle and brake inputs.

It would be amazing if you could steer the car on throttle to some degree even though it is arcade. I am not asking for the game to be a simulation because I understand that is not the intent but even in Forza Horizon 4, throttle control while drifting matters and they implemented it rather well in that game.

Also, I hope that there is something in place to prevent rammers from ruining online races. Forza Horizon 4 ended up with a clever system to stop wall riding and people using you as a brake when entering a turn. Hopefully you can use all cars on all tracks with the exception of maybe sprint cars.

I wouldn't really understand the reason for restrictions of certain car classes to certain locations or tracks. Hopefully the cars have working mirrors for cockpit cam and not just silver place holders.

I know that it's still 3+ months until release but issues such as cockpit lighting in Grid 2019 were brought up before release and they are still present now 8+ months after release with no fixes announced.

The issues were acknowledged for Grid 2019 but now I cannot get a community manager to reply to my request for an update on the issue. I might understand being ignored if I had flamed them or been rude but I have always been respectful on Codemasters' forums.

I feel a little let down with the Grid 2019 release at $79.99 for what I feel is not very much content but it makes it even worse to have known issues ignored.

This game looks very promising and I am very excited for it as long as they deliver great value which for me was not the case with the latest Grid 2019 game.

Dirt Rally 2.0 is my favorite racing game to date and it's because of the attention to detail, the amount of content and the amazing handling model.

The community manager for Dirt Rally 2.0 is also first rate. I am very much a fan of some of Codemasters' games but it's great games that make Codemasters' name great and not the other way around.

P.S. I have played DIRT 1 on PC/Steam, DIRT 2 on Xbox 360, Dirt 3 on PS3 and am currently playing Dirt Rally 2.0 on Xbox One X.

I have not played the first Dirt Rally or DIRT 4.

I am very much aware that the numbered DIRT games have been arcade games which is wonderful.

I am glad that they are different than the Dirt Rally games and I loved DIRT 1-3.

I am only asking for a little more depth to the handling model when all assists are turned off for people that want a challenge.

  9. Has this issue been resolved? I checked through patch notes and didn't see anything about it. I am not referring to the lighting of the actual car interior but of external brightness of the sky, sun reflections off the car interior, track reflections and lens flares while using cockpit view. I raced each track during the day with multiple cars and it still seems like extreme brightness in cockpit view is still an issue. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong or if this has been resolved. Thank you.

  10. Issue: The brake upgrade is missing from the Group A Subaru Legacy RS.

    Method of Reproduction:

    1. Go to garage
    2. Select the Group A Subaru Legacy RS
    3. Navigate to the Upgrades tab
    4. Compare the car to the other Group A cars that have 5 upgrades
    5. Notice that the brake upgrade is the one that is missing and that there are only 4 upgrades available

  11. WRC 8 on Xbox One X with a controller is not very good to me. I'm not a fan of 30 fps for a racing game. The cars are extremely twitchy and the controls never seem good no matter how much I tweak them. The cars don't seem to carry inertia through turns. It seems like they almost stop or stall out around sharp turns and then get going again. It also seems like you can't steer the cars on throttle. Counter steering usually results in the car wagging down the stage in a fit of overcorrection to try and get the car pointed in the direction that I want it to go. The sound design for the game seems pretty poor. The fact that they only have a few cars (18 unique cars if you bought the extra legends pack) to do sounds for and they turned out like that is pretty sad. It sounds like a popcorn machine is strapped inside the car while driving over gravel and the sound of hitting standing water is pretty silly as well. I am not interested in the team management aspect of WRC 8 as I want to spend my time driving stages and not hiring/firing or unlocking an elaborate upgrade/perk tree. For me, having better tarmac physics is not enough of a draw to keep me playing the game when all of these other flaws exist. I have heard that on PC with a proper wheel setup, it is quite good but I have neither and expect it to work well on what I have. I don't feel that it does. Even things like the lack of a proper steering wheel rotation animation bug me and I am surprised that they think that is acceptable for 2019 standards. I know that people's opinions of the game vary greatly and accept that mine is just that, an opinion. For these reasons and more I will probably not be interested in purchasing WRC 9 unless there are significant improvements to all of these aspects. However, I don't think this will happen because I can't even find a forum to voice my opinions on these shortcomings so I am guessing they don't really want the feedback to improve their game.

One thing I would like to see, even I know it's not going to happen, is proper Millington mk2 Escort. Dirt games needs to have legendary Works MK2 Escort, but also proper +300hp Millington powered escort with 6-speed sequential gear box, more modern rear axle and all the goodies would be neat. That car would need a totally new class for it, but it could be more open rwd class with e36 M3 and other stupidly fast rwd cars with modern stuff put in them. :classic_cool:

And yes I know earlier dirt games had that mismatch Escort. It tried to be historic rally car and Millington ford at the same time. :classic_wacko:

I absolutely love this idea! A 2.5 liter Millington powered mk2 Escort with carbon fiber and all the modern components similar to the one that Frank Kelly pilots. This 300+ hp car is epic. This would be fantastic for the next Dirt Rally game. Codemasters, please make this happen. Frank Kelly and his daughter Lauren had this car at Rally Legend at San Marino 2019.

Update 24 April 2020: Tried the Rally GT daily and got a connection error when trying to start the stage. I finally got it to start and after completing the stage, I keep getting a connection error. No matter how many times I retry it will not advance. My only options are retry, go to main menu or back. It also says, progressing to main menu will result in you losing your progress. The third daily I tried, failed to communicate 14 times in a row only to give me a DNF for quitting to the main menu. Switching between anything in my team that requires server communication takes way too long. My experience is no better today than it was yesterday. Now at first I thought maybe I was going crazy and I actually did finish the stage without damage, but today I finished a championship in Germany, went to the main menu, repaired all the damage on the car before starting the next championship in Australia. Right when I get to the first stage on Australia I already have body damage before running a shakedown or running a stage. ***?

I am experiencing the same thing where I am 100% sure that I repaired the car before the next daily, stage or other event only to go into it the next stage with damage. Sometimes I will even have visible damage that cannot be repaired. The repair menu doesn't show that the vehicle is damaged or give me the option to repair it but the car is obviously damaged. I completed a weekly, repaired the car, went straight into a daily and had visible damage that could not be repaired before the stage. This has happened pretty much since I got the game but is random and I have no idea what is causing it.

Thanks to you and the team for fixing the shift light on the Opel Corsa Super 1600 car and the rev lights on the Mini Cooper SX1. You guys rock for continuing to fix these issues and I hope support like this continues in future titles. It's refreshing to see this happening. I wish all of you and your families the best and hope that you are all doing well. Thanks again!
