  2. Hi everyone,

I'm working on a theory for those affected, which I've managed to replicate. In your custom control scheme, please ensure that 'brake' and 'shift down' have different buttons assigned. Having the same button assigned caused massive gearbox wear.

    Recommended:

    20200817140914_1.jpg

This provided only 1% gearbox wear after 3 laps.

    Not recommended:

    20200817140015_1.jpg

This provided 12% wear after 3 laps.

    Result:

When you are braking with the 'not recommended' format, the control map also makes the game think you are constantly shifting down throughout the brake zone, as that's the instruction. Can users check their custom schemes and make the according changes and feed back to me.

I started one myteam and one mycareer saves. I had to stop both as I cannot finish one full race cause of the bug. I attached the save so it's either one of those modes or both. Please solve it fast I played a total of 25-30 minutes and no more. @BarryBL

I hope some other friends will provide files as well to solve this as fast as possible.

    Hi @TheScientist903,

We've had a look at your savegame. Can you confirm which buttons you have assigned to brake and down shift please. I'm pretty confident this is your save, and it looks like they are mapped to the same button.

We are still looking into this and investigating. Thank you for your patience on this.

What are you talking about? What is Friday night? What is going out to see friends?

Is this one more of those fabled stories about how life was before COVID-19?

100% before COVID. The good old days. Drink and career mode with 2018. Using a wheel stand made of the glass dining table, which was a bold strategy with hindsight. Had to have FFB on about 25 because I was terrified of shattering the table. No wonder it took me 3 years to win the WDC in that year of the game.

I was looking at the TT times on a few tracks on this year's game and I was extremely surprised, and to be honest disappointed to see some assist runners top the leaderboard - I don't think that should ever be the case.

Does that mean in general they are very close this year in race trim as well? I just made the jump to no traction this year and I'm a league racer, unsure if I will continue with no traction if I feel disadvantaged.

    Hi @HeroOfTime91,

I can assure you that running without TC is a faster solution. Pre-working for CM, I ran with full TC as I just played for fun on a Friday night before going to see my friends. Since dropping to 'Medium' TC, I found around 2 seconds a lap. Also, in the rare instance I nail a lap without TC at all (hard to do with not so much practice these days), I'm 0.8 to a second quicker.

Running without TC would give you a pace advantage, its just a little (or, for me, a lot) harder.

  6. Hi everyone,

Thanks for the feedback, and apologies for the radio silence on this. It was something heavily discussed, and we didn't want to come back to you with information that was subject to change.

We noticed the amount of requests here, and have added a schedule for F1 2019. A lot of the credit has to go to @RedDevilKT on this one, I'm just the guy who asks the questions. He's done the work for it, so praise has to go to him. 👍

That was what I was thinking of.

I have to third this here. There is no gain to being in 'overtake' mode at the end of the formation lap, and is illogical to do so from a race standpoint. If anything, you are losing out on a small amount of charge.

Also, just attempted a quick replication in Grand Prix and failed. Do you have a custom control setup that you are using at the moment.
