"Do You Feel Like I Do?"

Good points, I agree, from all. I am using a wireless PS4 controller. So by "more serious" do you mean wired? Is there a lag to the wireless controllers that affects the handling of the car?

Are AI using hotlap during practice?

That's interesting. It's not like they are having to develop a setup for the race, or are they? 🤔 I wonder, just how intelligent are these artificial guys? Lol.....

Are AI using hotlap during practice?

I'm on a PS4. That is cool though.

Are AI using hotlap during practice?

Yes I should have specified that this is 2019 I'm talking about, but I bet they haven't changed that.
  5. So, just like the title asked. During practice sessions in career mode when I'm not working on the team's programs I try to beat the AI times or get as close as I can. Question is, do you think the AI are using their hotlap modes when they get their times during practice?

To assist or not to assist?

Learning this is very frustrating. I can tell I have gotten a lot better at driving without assists. Full lockups are less frequent and more often than not I avoid locking up at all. My spinouts are less frequent and I can easily string consistent laps together. BUT, at the same time I don't see where the speed can be gained. Can't brake any later or I will lockup. Can't go any heavier on the throttle or I would spin out. Yes attacking the corner differently could gain me some time, but 7 or 8 seconds seems like I would need a cheat code or something that I don't have. I know setups make a difference but, once it is close I don't see where there would be that much time gained there either.

To assist or not to assist?

Thanks for the reply. I am watching some and even slowing them down. It has helped with gear changes. I'm learning that a lot of things I did not know mattered do matter. I really don't know enough about how to race to know what to watch for. If that makes sense. I thought it was just about going fast and trying to minimize your time on the brakes or going slow, but I'm learning that it is a lot more than that.

To assist or not to assist?

Thanks guys! Great advice, thank you. @sloppysmusicA lot of ways to have fun with the game that I had not thought of.
  9. I'm trying to learn to drive with no assists, except the racing line. I like the feel of the car with not assists, but I'm more consistent with the assists on. If I'm not careful I wind up in the wall. At least with assists I get to finish the race. I'm not that fast. Australia time trial in the Haas is 1:27 something and I don't really see any difference in the speed other than the consistency. Acctually I checked again after posting this and I was about 1 to 2 secomds faster at Britain with abs and medium tc. The question is do I drive in my races with assists or take a chance with no assists and risk the DNF's? How did you learn to drive without assists? PS4 format. On the controller. The last 2 assists that I'm turning off are ABS and Traction control medium. ABS makes the braking feel "spongy" for lack of a better word and I often miss judge the stopping distance and wind up in the back of the car in front of me. Traction control on medium, doesn't bother me.

    Camber 😕🔫 ?

Thanks, I was guessing that, but the Min-Max thing was confusing 🤔

"Do You Feel Like I Do?"

My guess this last time is 5hrs at least. I posted this as a joke, but it really does get to you. You see green through your first 3 corners only to run over a curb a bit too much, losing the back end and spinning into a wall. There was someone posted because they were upset about the setup adjustments not doing anything. Said Codemasters had made an arcade game for 3 year olds. I don't doubt a 3yr old could beat me. Admittedly I have not finished a whole career season yet, but I have probably ran a whole total season's worth of laps around Australia and then some. I'm in a Haas by the way and only have a few setups developed for about 4 tracks. Was going to join an online league. They said not to bother unless you had been playing career mode with AI setting at 80 minimum. 😕 I have cranked mine up to 90. We will see how long it takes me to get fired.

    Camber 😕🔫 ?

When the car is just sitting on flat ground and the camber slider is all the way to the right, are the tyres sitting flatter on the ground with more tyre patch in contact with the road or is it all the way to left on the camber slider that makes it flatter on the ground with more tyre patch in contact with the road?

"Do You Feel Like I Do?"

I have had the flu for 3 days now. Played a little F1 2019 this evening. I love this game, it is almost the only one I play. At the same time I HATE THIS GAME. I suck at it and I have sat and played for hours on end, so please don't suggest that I give myself carpal tunnel and PRACTICE more. I'm trying to play with no assists, but I'm not much faster with them. I have ran time trial laps around Australia so many times I feel like I was on the paving crew. A few of the track personnel and I are on a first name basis. The fastest I've gotten with assists is a 1:25.?. The fastest without 1:26.6 I think. I could'nt find 6 more seconds if I ran in to it on the middle of the track. Brake too late and I lockup the wheels and hop on the bullet train right off the track. Get on the throttle a bit too heavy out of a curve and I'm on the whirling derby right into the wall. I'm always on the edge of losing it. I can't push any harder. Slow down enough to not lockup and I lose so much time I'd need to book a flight to the west coast to find it. For those of you that don't get that one, I'm in the USA cst 2 hours ahead of the west coast. I can't quit playing, but I hate this game. I feel better after typing this and that should last until I pick up the cotroller again. It's sitting there now, on its little table, just learing at me. So, in the immortal words of Peter Framton, "Do You Feel Like I Do?" Leave me a 👍 if you do. Misery loves company.
  15. I'm on a PS4 and new to the F1 2019 game. I find that the gamepad is twitchy and difficult to take the curves with. With no assists I have been braking and down shifting in a straight line and then turning into the curve when I slow down enough. I'm told this is making me slow. Is there a way to turn in while braking and keep from locking up? I have a need for speed! Thanks....
