Well I may be late to the party, but anyhow. This is still a problem with this game. It's why I just quit playing and uninstalled this abomination last year. As much as I enjoy the gameplay and driving in this game, they have just ruined this with the sorry racenet integration. This is what you get when yet another company decides to jump on the, "Games as a service" bandwagon. I am sincerely hoping that when Dirt 5 releases with the new consoles this year, that Codemasters doesn't repeat the same mistakes with that one. I'm praying, I'm begging you Codemasters, please don't ruin this franchise. Just to add, I uninstalled this late last year after losing my career progress for about the 5th or 6th time. About a week ago I saw footage of this game on a YT video and thought, you know what, I miss this game. And I am going to reinstall it since I have it through Game Pass for PC anyway. So I did. Thinking, well it's been several months, maybe some of these bugs have been worked out. But alas, No. The same ****. I have already lost my progress in both Rally, and Rallycross once in each discipline. No reason that I can point to either. After spending several hours doing Rally runs, then I decide to quit out to take a break, and I get the dreaded, "discrepancy between local and cloud saves, resetting career progress" message. And sure enough, the next day, I do Rallycross for a couple hours and the same thing. Quit to the menu and lost all my progress. I've given up on trying to play the Rally discipline, because I refuse to keep replaying the same thing over and over. I really enjoy the Rallycross, even though it is repetitive, I don't mind it as much. Since a big part of RX is learning the course and perfecting your lines, etc. I'm going to give this game one more try, and see what happens. But this is a shame, this could have all been avoided, if Codemasters didn't try to turn this into some live service garbage. It is just unnecessary for a single player campaign. I'm fine with having online functionality for record keeping, multiplayer, etc... But I just want to progress through the career, I don't care about having my lap times saved online. Why can we not opt out of this?? It's just pointless.
