Its always good to save just enough for a hot lap on your final lap. See Lando at the Austrian GP for prime example

I race cockpit view and you cant see the release light and always lose time No good online In leagues where pit assist is banned

It would be great to be able to see other players laps in TT. I appreciate it’s not likely possible to upload a video from each and every user but it would be cool to be able to watch a stream of the fastest laps of each track in game rather than have to rely on youtube videos.

So I eventually took the plunge and turned off racing line assist last night. MUCH easier than I expected. I’ve lost a second or two initially but I expect to recover that fairly quickly and go faster still. I’m finding it much easier to use the full width of the track without the distraction of a thick green/red line running through it so now just a case of finding the perfect braking points and I reckon I will be flying! Its more fun too!

If I can get the sponsorship and generosity of a company to loan me the kit, I am looking to do a 24 hour racing event on F12019, for a as yet unchosen charity. I can't decide on the best format though. I.E. Whether to full races, TT, career mode or a mix. I think something like 24 hours of Monaco (or a different track) on TT sounds most appealing, but as the racer, 24hrs of the same track will get tedious. Thoughts and ideas?
-
Yeah of course need to think of a charity, since thats the point. But no it would be just me racing, thinking of getting a second person to tag team with me. i’ve found a company who provides simulator kit for charity events so going to contact them. Good idea about 50% races.

Hey all, new member and first time poster. Just wondering how you all judge ones ability at this game. AI level, assists used, or both? I've returned to the F1 games for the first time since F1 World tour on the N64 (twenty years ago maybe?) and have been consumed by F1 2019 for the last 6 months. When I began, I was using full assists (apart from braking assist) and quickly worked up to around 85 AI. Now i've slowly turned off all assists except dynamic racing line (corners only) and feel my ability has improved drastically, i'm faster on TT but have had to turn the AI down to around 50 (track depending). So yeah, what do you all think marks someone better. 85 AI with assists, or 50 AI no assists?

I guess it comes down to how much you'll play it as to whether it's worth it. For me, I paid £55 for digital copy on release day but having put in well over 200 hours on the game (with no sign of slowing), so the value for money in comparison to other games i've purchased for much less but barely played (or even installed) is much higher. If any one else can show me where I can get such quality entertainment for 0.27p per hour and I will show you a liar. Haha

Career mode - sudden loss of reputation
PistoPete555 replied to CarloLewis's topic in General Discussion
Oh right, I don’t know then. I don’t remember ever experiencing your issue without a bad interview. Strange. -
I see what everybody is saying, but i’m just not ready to turn it off. I’ve just half-mastered it without the other assists so want to enjoy that for a bit before making it harder again, know what I mean?

Career mode - sudden loss of reputation
PistoPete555 replied to CarloLewis's topic in General Discussion
The algorithms for Reputation are garbage and my biggest gripe with this game. As Sloppysmusic says, you can do well in a race but if you bad mouth the team you lose a lot of rep points. Just be VERY careful with your answers in interviews. I have turned off time restrictions so can ponder my response as long as I need, or if in doubt, NO COMMENT. I usually just go for the answer that seems like it bigs up the team or department. -
Thanks for the encouragement. I hadn't considered the ERS and Fuel modes to be driving assists either, just performance assists but I don't feel I can go manual on those until I get a wheel. Just too many button presses to make it feasible on a controller. I think once I have got my speed up with no assists I will finally drop the racing line as yes i agree, it's a bit like cheating but not ready to fly solo just yet.
-
Yeah I know what you mean. I became so obsessed with improving my lap times and getting rid of assists that I totally forgot about improving my race craft. That's something else I'm working on now and split my time between TT and Grand Prix modes.

I feel you bro. There are times when I feel i've reached my peak and can't get any faster but be persistent. You may actually be improving way more than you realise. You won't really notice improving by the 1/2 tenths a lap over a few hours, but when those hours go back months and you look back what your time was then, then you might find that you're way faster than before. I've started to keep track of my fastest times and can tell you in 3 months i've took 6 seconds off Monaco. Barely notice any improvement at the time though.
