Psychology of Rally - questions and a video
Frankiestail replied to EggBerry's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Might be a good idea to turn off all onscreen hud, especially the stage progress one and direction arrows. As well as being more immersive, you’ll not feel pressure when stage is about to end, also listening to co driver prompts only will focus your eyes on the road instead of the corner prompts which I find distracting. -
Project Cars 3 for Global Civilisation
Frankiestail replied to Jake Cushing's topic in Off-topic Discussion
On the flip side of this, do you think that the codemasters influence of two separate dirt franchises could be passed on to project cars to insure a full sim and another arcade title, thus keeping each side happy without upsetting the other? -
Slow in fast out = you lose! Good day sir!

Also add to this to turn of hud as one glance away from the road is enough to put you backwards into a tree! -
Codemasters secures World Rally Championship license from 2023

Oh thank you sweet lord! I actually tried playing a bit of wrc8 last night and the choppy frame rates made me car sick, had to turn it off after 5 minutes. And I don’t even suffer vr sickness playing dirt rally with psvr. Please make this support psvr on ps5 going forward. -

Yes!!! This was it, I experimented and that seems to have been my issue all along. Can’t believe I hadn’t that figured out, probably because I’ve only really ever bothered with dailies, never bothered much with career, so never had much experience of fixing punctures. Thanks for pointing this one out, every days a school day! -

I’d be tempted to think it’s a dodgy up button except the prompt to change wheel doesn’t appear on screen even when the co driver says about a puncture. Although as I’ve said it happens about one or two times out of ten so seems hard to figure out. Maybe a fresh install will sort it? -

Maybe it’s just a PS4 issue -

Thanks for getting back to me, my settings normally save one spare and for this event I saved settings with two spares to be on the safe side. Strange thing is it let me change on second stage without problems but not on last stage. With it being a short stage I thought no worries, I’ll limp on but it spat me into a small tree at low speed and terminally damaged my car, which has only ever happened if I launched it off a cliff or something similar which I’d expect to write car off, but a small tree at 40mph?! -

What with Greece being what it is I ensured I had two spare tyres at each service. But low and behold on last stage got puncture and yet again it wouldn’t allow me to change. Come on guys, someone able to help me out with this one, is it a bug, has this happened to others, please help me out here! @pjtierney could this be reported as a bug and possibly fixed as it is game breaking for me for anything other than dailies, thanks in advance. -

Picked Skoda this time, mainly cus it’s small and less chance of hitting something. Good to get Spain out of the way early though to be fair the fabia feels ok on tarmac. -

Someday I will finish a rally with an intact fully functioning car! -
I’ve had similar problems whereby I’m unable to change flat tyres. And yes, I always make sure I’m carrying a spare and even when co driver mentions the flat, the prompt for changing doesn’t appear and pressing relevant button has no effect. This on PS4, with G29 wheel

I’ve had rain bug thankfully only once, on PS4. I think it happens randomly on all formats irregardless of settings, going by what I’ve read of other users experiences. -

Well somehow racenet let me finish last stage although car in such bad shape after two rolls I didn’t have enough time in service to fix turbo and engine. Sitting in 3rd so far and just one second of @Dytut in second! Poland fair gives the car a wrecking as a small touch of a bank can launch you to the moon and back such is the speeds. -
Yep, this, just had another racenet fail towards end of club event. Please sort this out before there’s no more goodwill left!

Rolled on first and third stage but somehow managed to be 2nd then 3rd, when what do you know racenet decides to sh.t itself! Is it any wonder not many doing clubs this last while, Codemasters need to have a long hard look at themselves with this excuse for a server! -

If your on console wrc8 is a jumpy stuttering mess of 30fps which at times feels like barely half that at best! which is a pity as there’s not too bad a game buried in there somewhere. -

Force feedback and degrees problems
Frankiestail replied to tonino999's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
Hmmm, I do see your point, so would you recommend leaving saturation at 100 and have soft lock on? I don’t run with wheel animation on anyway and tbh I’d perefer authentic steering experience. Although I haven’t measured it with sat at 60 every car feels to have similar rotation, even R5, which I guess feels to be 540 if compared to say wrc8 -
I’ll add my plea for fov parity on consoles, it’s an absolute must for any title serious about being a sim. In addition most people require a narrowing of fov, less scenery to render, so should be less of a strain on gpu, at least this seems the case on ac and pc2

Force feedback and degrees problems
Frankiestail replied to tonino999's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
You can match animation to your wheel by setting saturation to 60. Both wheels will now match in all cars. This is the case on PS4 not sure about other platforms.
