servers DiRT Rally 2.0 - In-Game Server Connectivity
AlleyViper replied to CavernousEnnui's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
I was also getting a server not available message like the above, then it entered the game. ...But I've had a download failed message after collecting rewards, and connection was gone again. After a retry, new challenges showed, but it's better to exit the game in case it'll cause some data mismatch in the current state. Speaking of it: Yesterday after finishing a club event (without connection issues) and doing a few time trials after, when going back to the main menu I was greeted with a career championship reset due to data mismatch message. I didn't even touch my career championship on that session. It's the second time I've seen this. Fortunately, for what I remember, I've now only lost a RX championship on Masters where I was doing poorly and putting some kms on a new car, but if it had been a serious effort mid-Rally Masters I'd be foaming by now. There must be some issue on your client <-> back-end for either these problems happening mid-session way long after the previous championship run/progress save, and also in the way when a problem is found, the default behavior is to discard user progress. Thanks -
An update: Now that the Monthly is over, I got the expected rewards for 1st tier. Even yesterday the graph was still showing mid second tier for me, but on today's final leader board review the graph bar had the flag icon right under the (CR) sign, upper on 1st tier. It seems like the GUI isn't properly updated while Monthly events are still running.

DiRT Rally 2.0 - In-Game Server Connectivity [CM Note: Check first post]

Sometimes there seems to be "transit damage" when advancing between rally events on a championship, resulting in light damage right before first stage. I got that on previous versions too, not sure if intended. (Steam user)

On Steam I had a similar problem, both for the Group A and B buy all achievements (I was still under 1.12). The x/5 etc counter for the achievements wouldn't advance when buying some cars. The expensive brute force workaround was to have all cars, start a career championship (not a periodic community/ai event) with one of them, start a stage up to first checkpoint and quit to main menu (not sure if driving is really required), then rebuy that same car while the original is reserved for the initiated event. Then abandon championship, and redo the same for every car. And even then, the cars that finally unlocked the achievements for GrA and B for me, were one of the few that already added to the "x/5" etc counter at the moment they were bought, not one of those that didn't count or were offered with Deluxe which I tried first. I hope there's a better way on PS4, but on more threads will find users that succeeded this way on Steam. -

Got another game crash today right after pressing "Continue" after finishing a stage in "Glencastle Farm" under dusk/heavy rain/wet surface. As always, it's after finishing a stage with rain, and the access violation address was the same. Previously these random crashes I've had were under Career (either on rally Championship or community/ai events), because that's were I spend most time. Today's was on Freeplay > Clubs, while racing the current RaceDepartment championship event (5th stage on 10 in Scotland). It seems like New Zealand + rain and now Scotland + rain are the most prone for this. System details are on my previous post itt. Today's crash report was sent, and I'll also attach to this post the settings file along the error report screenshot. Curiously, these appcrashes never show on windows Event Viewer for dirtrally2.exe. Thanks hardware_settings_config.xml PS: @HoksuHoo had good fun fighting your times -

Ended up getting the Sunday Driver (Steam) achievement after a second try, just with a slightly faster pace than before w/ the 18' Audi EKS S1 to make sure it would register. Luckily the discrepancy in qualifier times wasn't so huge as before. Now that I've been trying my luck on Masters RX Career with 2019 cars, it's gone out of hand. Having stuff like 4 consecutive events with 14 wins/2 2nd places on qualifiers, but then always ending on 16th and not reaching semi-finals. This due to differences of 5-15s from last to top drivers on other tiers vs best on mine. Only on a couple of events I could advance (with a 9-11th place), and then progress to the final where 4-2nd place would still be possible for my limited skill, for a final 15th place on the Championship. I'd rather have the AI on my qualifiers much faster than it is (and then matching times for other "virtual" qualifiers), but then making me remain at a lower tier until I gain that pace, than having times between tiers completely unbalanced vs. the ones I participate on. I hope CM sorts this before the final updates, as RX becomes unenjoyable if the player is required to lower the difficulty just to match the qualifier times he doesn't participate in to be able to advance to semis, while at the same time making the raced qualifiers AI easier/less challenging than required. -

On today's Wales daily under heavy rain with the Legacy I've had a wipers issue problem with Auto-Wipers set to off. Car had no damage, and then they stopped working in the first 8th of the stage, leaving me blind. They would start back after manually starting them via long button press, but then would stop again after some seconds. Setting Auto-Wipers on made them work, and completely stop failing. I'd assume that if this was a random electric problem, at least it'd still have an effect when that assist was on with a random missed wipe (then auto-turn on), but not. Then, after turning auto-wipers off again, a few seconds later wipers stopped working again, making me emergency stop the car again. Yesterday the exact same thing happened to me in the Rallycross Career on a rainy stage right in the first qualifier after t2, and restarting the race wouldn't solve it, forcing me to drop the event. At that point, I had no idea that enabling auto-wipers would make them work flawlessly. This situation is completely frustrating on a freshly repaired car, not to say that the results are completely different depending on assists settings. Even then, if this is related to random electric problems, at least it'd be fairer that they randomly missed a wipe instead of turning completely off with auto-wipers off. Looks like a bug. -

I've found another area on Scotland that isn't remotely as bad, but can halve fps. On "Annbank Station Reverse", around the 1st checkpoint there's a tight right 2 to 1 where fps can drop while going wide over the exterior of the turn. Just by stopping the car there, there's a considerable fps hit at certain points, but nothing so drastic an in the bridge. While going on normal pace, I thought it was due to particles or other fx when sliding outside, but after checking stopped the sudden fps dip is there. For reference here's the spot (screen), don't mind the unnatural car placement. There's also a spot in "Descenso por Carretera" that has been prone to cause a stutter, when passing this yellow road sign at speed, but by going slowly there doesn't seem to be something so abnormal as on the other examples. Before the last crash to desktop, previous was on a New Zealand weekly, rainy stage, with h2 rwd (base content), I was using the Kadett. To add to the differences, I'm on PC/Steam, so it's probably unrelated to your consistent crash. -

It's curious, because the rare random crashes I've been having after rainy stages on the Steam version happen exactly at that UI point, on career championship and community/ai events. Fortunately it always keeps my progress, so they can be resumed. (mentioned in this post) Wonder if the crash happens while contacting racenet (so the loading circle goes red), or graphics related to the blur/zoom effect applied to the background replay. -

Regarding the bridge slow down, until now users like me only have reported it on older gen CPUs (there's also a thread on Steam about it). FX8350, FX6300, i7 2600, a 12' Mac Pro Xeon Quad (1st or 2nd gen Core i, probably), i7 860. Not sure if user reports with a i7 3770k and i7-4720HQ were affected in the exact same way, or just general slowdown. Can be tested while going very slowly with the car on that zone, and it affects one half of the bridge (entry half on Muir Reverse and some meters before, exit on Muir). If you stop in there, fps will be terribly low, then they return to normal abruptly after exiting the affected area. Even dropping the detail to minimum possible doesn't affect the situation, so it doesn't look like the usual situation where an old cpu will cause a slight stutter due to more draw calls on a zone with more objects/details (within a reasonable limit). One affected user on the Steam thread suggested reducing AO, but it does no difference on my system (from Medium to Off) at the lowest fps points. Could it be something relying on instructions these older CPUs can't cope with, like a reverb sound effect or physics calc at this point of stage? If needed I can make a clip, on the following screenshots you see how constant fps flow with the car stopped at various points while crossing the zone, from >100 to under 15fps then back to 100fps. I've had the same experience today (1.13) when trying to go for the Sunday Driver achievement (requires 100% AI). After winning comfortably 4 qualifiers in Hell under Heavy Rain (didn't block faster cars behind me), I then missed Semi-Finals by a surprising difference. Previously on 1.12 I've seen the same under career on Elite level (WRX 2018 class) on a few tracks, while not so much with RX2 where it became way easier to advance to Masters. -

Same issue as other users reported, co-pilot sound volume is too low on Scotland. I'm on Steam version (Deluxe+S3/4). After finishing today's Daily on Scotland under rain and then pressing "Continue", I had a familiar crash to desktop: This crash report was sent, like similar others in the past. These crashes were already random and prone to happen when finishing stages in rain, right after pressing on "Continue" the moment the menu becomes available (it crashes just before the usual "connecting to server"/red circle on lower left; maybe related to the graphics zoom/blur effect applied over the running replay on background at this point?). I can't find a way to reliably reproduce. In the past it has happened more often after rainy New Zealand stages in career/community events. I've had about 9 crashes like these in ~200h of gameplay under 1.11 and 1.12 since I bought this game. No Steam file integrity problems are found. After that CTD, I've finished the Gr.A Weekly (also in Scotland with rain on most stages) without game crashes. My system: FX8350/16GB/RX480 8GB on latest 20.3.1 drivers, 750W Seasonic platform PSU, W10 1909 updated, xbox 360 wired controller. System is stable under dozens of hours of stress testing in prime 95, hci memtest, karhu ramtest, etc and daily use/gaming On "Old Butterstone Muir Reverse" (today's Daily), near the 3rd checkpoint, after a tight left corner there's a small bridge. When going over it game stutters heavily and goes in slow motion, making it unplayable until a couple of seconds after its crossed. Just tried it again in time trial (wet surface) with same result as in the daily event. Will have to check if there's a particular graphics setting that can alleviate it, otherwise it's always stable at 60fps. Update: Now on the weekly, same thing happened on "Old Butterstone Muir", terrible stuttering/slowdown when passing over the small bridge. Update2: Graphics settings don't even seem to affect the fps drop, if I stop the car there it drops from 60 to 15fps w/ vsync until it's out of the affected area (end half of bridge on regular layout). -
Because both used car groups rotate every 8h, you can check back 24h later to find the other one. This is in case you can only launch the game at about the same hour every day mid-week.

Thanks for explaining, no need for screenshots. 👍 Edit: Checked on a daily today and confirmed your deduction. The timing that corresponded to the 1|2nd tier was very near to upper 10% (player position with that time x10 was nearly equal to total player count).

Sorry for the OK OT, but Is this 1st tier for best 10% still valid? P.e, on the current bonus monthly I'm atm in 10th among 161 participants, and I'm on upper 2nd tier (maybe 9 tenths in the 2nd tier graph). Even excluding bottom participants with max possible time set, it'd leave 111 players. On the bonus GrA weekly at MC, I'm atm at 138th among 1458 (1155 non-max time) and also leaves me on 2nd tier, but with the mark right over the frontier to 1 tier. Both entries aren't particularly fast, and have the usual mistakes for a solid 2nd tier. Could these longer challenges have target times instead (preset, or in relation to best time set), or there's a threshold from which bottom entries are excluded? Thanks

When training engineers using mouse input, sometimes it's possible to select 4WD or FWD but RWD will be updated instead. If it matters for px position, it's on a 1680x1050 screen. Maybe it has to do with the confirmation screen having "accept" over RWD. -

@GruByGuruIt's on purpose, so the pilot can see the raising needle/redline position better while looking at the road. Rotated tachs with shifting point set at 9h or near 12h are common on racing cars. Please check this picture of Weber/Feltz's Golf: link. -
Glad to know 🙂, Cheers!

Been playing for ~the same time. Just to let you know that you if buy that S4, it'll temporarily be gone from the store, but after 16h it'll pop up again used with the exact same stats. In here it was 54,295.90Km, 279 Events, 26 podiums, 201 finished, 6 terminal crashes. Same with other all the other used cars I've bought.

Hi, I've started playing DR2.0 recently, so I've missed this event/prize. Are there any news to when the M2 will be available to buy in career mode? Thanks in advance!
