No Points on Leaderboard for Weekly Event Race
Sir_Overtakesalot replied to CptShort's topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
480 is most likely a cheat score. I'm currently P1 on PS4 with a 442 and change. I expect to be beaten but not by 40 thousand. -
Where exactly have I contradicted myself?
-
I have suspicions about certain players near the top but for the most part yes I do. But it's not just about my position being correct or not. It's about people who obviously cheat being removed because it's the right thing to do.

Looks good 👍

No Points on Leaderboard for Weekly Event Race
Sir_Overtakesalot replied to CptShort's topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
Usually they are cheaters that I'm pushing CM to have removed. 3.5 seconds slower is an eternity. If someone is fast and they have a bad quali, they are usually a couple tenths behind. Not seconds. What platform was it? I've seen a PC Leaderboard before and it was riddled with cheat scores. I'm on PS4 where usually it's not a problem but recently it has been. -
That's what I'm working towards and that's what we all want here. Removing obvious cheaters is a start. It's a 1st step in the right direction

I'm not playing 2020 for realism. I'm playing to compete with the best. So if the best are all using T-cam then so am I because it's a level playing field then. And I've not argued that it is not advantageous over Cockpit cam. I've stated T-cam simply provides a better view of the track which is all it does. It doesn't magically make you fast.

There are never a few hundred ahead of me. I've been top 50 the last 2 events and on 2019 I was frequently in the top 20 and top 10. If anybody knows when a bull$h!+ score appears, it's me. The Weekly Events are all I focus on so over Time, I've got to know who the fast legit players are. Like I said if people want to regulate their cheating speed in game to try and make the score seem legit that's fine but the quali time gives it away and the use of Assists as well. Removing people has worked in the past and I'd implore CM to keep doing it.

No Points on Leaderboard for Weekly Event Race
Sir_Overtakesalot replied to CptShort's topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
@Currriss you can enter as many races as you'd like. There is no penalty. If you receive a score in your first race and you decide to try again, your initial score gets wiped away so you basically start from scratch again. This happens every time you try a new race. So If you get a score you're happy with, keep it because there's a chance you may do worse and get a lower score. If you think you can do better then go for it. -
LOL, people love to hate on T-Cam. Turn off all Assists and race on T-Cam. You'll find out real quick that the Assists are the actual Assists, and the T-Cam won't help you from locking up or spinning out. It simply provides a better view of the track. That's like saying if you use Cockpit view but you have an 80 inch monitor compared to someone who has a 20 inch monitor. The players tv is an Assist because it provides a better view of the track being much larger and easier to view.

At first glance of this post, with no knowledge of the actual rules before viewing the image above, I would have been incredibly surprised if any Assists were allowed. These are the cream of the crop and allowing Assists negates that title. For those of us who play with no Assists, we know just how more difficult it is to not only be quick but to also be consistent. This is why I'm an advocate for much higher Assist bonus scores for those that do not use any Assists in the Weekly Events. Doing this will not only seperate the highly skilled players from the average, but it will also push other players who want that higher spot on the Leaderboard to take the next step and turn off their Assists in a bid to become better without a helping hand. I describe Assist users as average skilled players because once they turn them off and try a race.. It won't go well. I was there. I was fast using Assists but after trying with no Assists, I realized quickly that my skill level was nowhere near the people who used no Assists and had identical or close times on the TT Leaderboard.

They should still be deleted if it is an unattainable score for the Event. Regardless if it was on purpose or not. It would be like your teammate corking your bat and you not knowing and then saying your 4 homeruns that game should still count when you've never hit 1 in your career.
-
@Kingsmil I'd say you have a good argument for a refund. You've purchased a game that you cannot complete 100%. Not because your skill level but because the developers of the game have ended an area of the game abruptly with no real notice that is required for 100% completion. If trophies are offered and a Platinum is available then you should be able to earn it. Devs shouldn't be able to cut off part of their game that is required for 100% completion and expect people to just accept it. I'd say push PlayStation for that refund. You might get it due to the reasons I've stated.

I'll say it again. Codemasters obviously create these Events. They don't grow out of the ground. After creation of the Event. A staff member or a known member of the F1 community who is incredibly fast should then run the Event multiple times on each platform before it is given to the community so they can see a range of what the top score should be, give or take 10k. That way it isn't a question of who cheated whether purposely or not. If you have 1 or 2 that are using all Assists and they are ahead of the score the fast staffer or community member got by 50k. They've cheated. And I shouldn't have to say anything about the people who score over 300k more than the known fast players that are consistently in the top 10. Removing these people from the Leaderboards pre-events end is the only way to ensure people that didn't cheat are placed where they belong. Over the last 2 events. I've lost a total of 7 positions due to obvious cheaters not being removed pre-events end. If people want to try and moderate their cheating so they keep it within 5k of 1st place and it appears legit, so be it but I can guarantee they aren't good enough to even do that.
-
It actually rids the Leaderboard of cheaters so the people who don't cheat get the positions they deserve.

I forgot to check the Weather for the Japan race this weekend during Quali. Does anyone know what the Weather will be?

Lol Bring it. If you're on PS4. I'm top of the Leaderboard on 3 tracks with the Classic cars. Bahrain Short, Britain Short and Japan Short. Have a go. I expect to be knocked off of 1st at some point. It would be my honor if it was you lol

Holy F#<k, Imagine how much better some of you would be at F1 2020 if you spent the same amount of time playing it as you do on here arguing over nonsense.
-
I was worried about this exact thing when I started 2020 with all Assists off. What I found works great is to try your hardest to maintain the optimal RPM pre launch. You want to be at the higher end of it then near the lower. It's better to be slightly above optimal then below. Then what you should try is allow the car to launch. Add very little throttle and short shift to 2nd and again to 3rd. Make sure the car is straight and you feel the car gripping, then you're good to floor it... gradually of course. Smooth on the throttle. Do the above mentioned in a smooth one step motion. Launch, add small amount of throttle and short shift to 2nd then 3rd. That's what I found works for me.

You have to also finish a race if you'd like to get a rank on the Leaderboard. Even though you qualified and were given a rank on the Leaderboard, not entering a race is an automatic DNF (did not finish) that is why you don't see a trophy. When you do qualify and finish the race, after the Event ends, you will get a message in your in game mail that contains the trophy. You open the mail and accept it. Then the Trophy will be available for you to display.

Question about VIP Podium Pass and Schumacher Pre-Order
Sir_Overtakesalot replied to dwin20's topic in F1 Chat
I finished all 30 tiers and upon reading a post on here, I realized I could purchase the VIP pass using the Pitcoins. I thought it required money. Before I purchased it I had 17,500 pitcoins. After purchasing VIP, I automatically unlocked all VIP rewards from all the tiers I already passed. All 30 in this case. I now also have more pitcoins then I had before I purchased the VIP. 18,500 now. Just some info to let you know it's not a waste of Pitcoins. You get them back. -
Has to be the G29 you're talking about. I got my first one 7 months ago. The past few weeks I've been watching the brakes being applied on their own. It's fantastic, I've taken it apart and cleaned it 3 times now. Even put a 15% dead zone in my brake pedal. Thought I won the fight... still continued to happen. So upon more research, sounds like the wiring is shot. Long story short.. I bought a new one today. So much better than the old one. Took 2 tenths off Zandvoort PB already with it. 1:09.392. I rode the old one into the ground. I can thank getting the Platinum on Assetto Corsa for that one. Hardest Platinum I've got.. besides Beat Saber, that was pretty friggin hard too. Although that did not require my Wheel. Just alot of sweat and anger lol.

Time Trial Leaderboard, 0 players after finishing lap and going to garage
Sir_Overtakesalot posted a topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. I completed my session in Japan (classic cars) doing TT and upon setting my fastest lap of the session I went back to the garage to view the Leaderboard. No times loaded. I went back and forth between friends Leaderboard and Global and all I got was an endless downloading content to which that eventually disappeared. And still no players. I exited out of TT, even logged off internet and back on and re-entered TT. Back to Japan and 0 players on the board. A restart of the game is needed to have the players and times appear back on the Leaderboard. 2. Platform PS4 3. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.05 4. Game-mode? Time Trials Classic cars 5. What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too. I tried re-entering TT 3 times and 0 players each time. Spend time in TT and set a fastest lap or PB and go back to the garage. It will eventually happen. 6. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue Tried signing out of PSN and reconnecting my internet connection. The only thing that fixed it was a complete game restart. 7. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) Logitech G29 8. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. Negative -
Patch 1.05 on XBox changed my driver avatar

LOL Exact same thing happened to me after 1.05 on PS4. I finished a GP and on the Podium, I was..... not my guy. -
Any point in the challenges once you're at 30?
Sir_Overtakesalot replied to PoisonedMonkey's topic in F1 Chat
This trophy is easy to get. Here's what you do. First off, prepare to finish last. Don't treat these races seriously. If there is qualifying, retire so you start last. Once the race starts, wait a few seconds and then go for a Sunday drive. Stay between the lines and if a car comes up behind you, just move over and let it go by. You're doing this strictly for the trophy so the best way to do it is drive slower and make sure you stay on the track and don't cut corners. Find 3 lap races to do this. The less laps the easier.
