  1. 1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. Ever since the Japan GP both my driver and team acclaim are going backwards. Was driver acclaim 14, close to level 15 and level 14 team acclaim or something... but after the Japan GP which I won and the follow-up invitational event (a pursue at Sotchi which I won) both my driver/team acclaims are going down at the same rate they should go up. My driver acclaim already dropped by an entire level back to 13. It is like it started subtracting the acclaim in every session ever since. With it also the weekly income is shrinking because it is tied to the acclaim. Maybe the problem is related to the Marketing department where I recently upgraded the sponsorship relationships to level 1 for the 10% acclaim boost. I upgraded it shortly before going to Japan and that is when the issue with the dropping acclaim started. Maybe instead of adding 110% acclaim it actually adds -110% acclaim ever since (don't know how it is exactly internally calculated but probably who ever programmed it added a minus sign somewhere instead of a plus sign 🤦‍♂️)... that would explain why the acclaim is dropping ever since. Meh. I knew I should have dumped the money on another research department instead. Then I probably wouldn't have the problem now. I already won the Drivers championship but still that bug is annoying and I don't want to continue because at this pace I am going to lose a lot of acclaim and money until the end of the season. Doing full 22 race season, 25% races, with practice/qualifying sessions etc. 2. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) PC 1.03 3. Game-mode? My Team 4. What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too. Started with P3 @ Japan GP, carried on with Qualifying, the Japan GP and also the invitational event at Sotchi afterwards. All subtracted the amount of acclaim instead of adding it. 5. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue Tried further sessions, but problem seems to continue/accumulate. 6. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) PS4 Controller on PC. 7. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. I have no screenshot of it sadly. But it definitely happens and I kinda don't want to continue fiddling with the savegame because I will definitely unnecessarily lose even more acclaim when trying to replicate the problem further.

DSQ from Tyre Change Master Thread

A temporary fix that works at least for 25% races: At race start open the strategy window... then pick one of the default strategies and change it so that you do the pitstop one lap earlier or later (shouldn't make much difference in the total race time maybe like 0.3s or whatever)... so that it becomes a customized strategy. Close the window. Start race... Race normally and do the pitstop... then race to the end. You won't get DSQ'd. Used the workaround to successfully advance all the way into the 3rd 22 race season.

DSQ from Tyre Change Master Thread

Seems like the patch is out. I will check later in the evening if it works or not.
  4. 1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. Well I don't know, maybe the RNG Gods just hate me but in my second season in My Team I have already the 5th race in rain out of 9 races. Australia, Vietnam, Monaco (which was the most ridiculous one with full wets and even changing to inters mid session where all of a sudden midfielders stood on the podium with me because they didn't change tires like the topfielders and there not being any possibillity to overtake), Azerbaidschan and now Canada. And in the other races except for Bahrain (where rain probably is disabled from ever happening) I at least also had rain in at least one of the practice/qualifying sessions. I mean it is funny and something different for once but the trend is starting to get alarming and ridiculous. Like as if the game wants me to crash into a wall or something to finally end the rain streak. And there definitely is no setting for manipulating the weather in a My Team career so I definitely couldn't have forced rain every time. I have never had such a streak throughout all previous game installments. Not even in my first season of F1 2020. There I just had 2 races in rain in a total of 22 races. 2. Platform PC 3. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.03 4. Game-mode? My Team 5. What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too. Moving fordward in the calendar I will look if it happens again... or if it is just a one in a million streak. 6. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue Accepting the weather and going to next race. 7. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) PS4 controller 8. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. Here one from the canada weekend (sadly I don't have any from the other weekends but back then I didn't believe the streak would continue):
  5. Well in France the race wasn't in rain, but the qualifying was. But now Austria again rain. 🤦‍♂️ I think the odds for rain are like 50% in this season. 11 races. 6 in rain. If the chance for rain is rolled pre-season or something then that might explain why there is so much rain. If it is decided from race to race it definitely is weird.

    Assist Nerf!

Yeah well. I think the best approach would still be splitting the leaderboards into two categories... for those who don't use any assists and those who use assists. Then no nerfs would be necessary and those who play without compete only with other people who play without.
  7. Well I used to play with ABS off in earlier installments but I get older, I don't have as much time anymore as I used to and hence I slowly fade into the casual player league. Hence why I have left turned the assists on for 2020 because it is no fun if the few hours I get to play I then lock up on every 5th turn because I have not that much practice anymore. Also 2020 feels kinda a bit different than 2018 felt when it comes to car balance/handling but I can't exactly say what it is. But that is also why I know that ingame driving with Brake assist+ABS on is at least somewhat slower and at best equal as fast as if you'd play without those assists. The game then just wants to play it safe so you are almost guaranteed to make the turn and hence breaks/shifts earlier than you could without. Especially with Brake Assist to maximum it feels like you are on a rail much like the AI and like you are only rewarded if you drive exactly as specified on the dynamic racing line which isn't always the fastest racing line and is useless if you are in overtake maneuvers.
  8. Ah yes, forgot to mention that it already is with the devs due to another thread reporting the issue already. But now BarryBL already said it too that it is with the devs.
  9. The issue is the marketing department. If you upgraded the part for the +10% driver acclaim then the issue starts. After that all acclaim you earn gets subtracted instead of added. The Developers are already aware of the issue. But don't know when they are going to fix it. In the meantime the only way to work around the issue is shutting down the marketing department.
  10. Zandvoort kinda feels like a rollercoaster with all those banked turns. The most ridiculous one is that small hairpin-like banked turn shortly after the pit exit. What where the track designers thinking with that useless thing. Also they definitely copied the fast Eau Rouge part of Belgium following up that small hairpin up the hills. Other than that it is okay. Vietnam... well I like Sectors 1&2 but I absolutely hate the 3rd sector which resembles the first sector of Suzuka with those fast left/right turns. I kinda never get a proper rhythm for that kind of stuff (I am better remembering more distinctive corners than chained ones) and eventually in one turn I either oversteer or understeer and unlike in Suzuka where you go into the gravel/grass you end up in a wall in Vietnam. Also I never know wether I am supposed to lift/coast through those passages or go in fast and break late.

We need a SLI patch NOW !

SLI is dead. Even Nvidia itself is slowly fading it out. Most newer cards don't even support it anymore. Codemasters are better off investing in other areas.

    Dynamic Difficulty

I kinda doubt the dynamic difficulty would really work. Lets say I use some generic AI level 50. On some tracks like in China or Sotchi or Belgium I eventually lap even the car in 2nd position. On other tracks like Monaco I have a hard time even outqualifying them if at all and during the race they are kinda close behind me all the time and I can only hope that my pit strategy is better than theirs and that I don't run into backmarkers slowing me down and wearing out my tires because if I did they would overtake me in the pits. And that is not just me being bad at Monaco but definitely the AI being stronger on there for some reason. Maybe better pathing or impossible steering at the hairpin and taking all the corners down in the harbor perfectly which a human player can't do or whatever. It also holds true for certain other tracks. On some they excel and at some they are garbage and they kinda don't reflect the difficulty setting. So if the AI isn't even equally good/bad at the tracks then how would a dynamic diffiulty setting work properly? It would probably only result in even more unbalanced races because if I bash them 4-5 races at the beginning of the season the difficulty would ramp up and then I head to Monaco and get my butt handed to me because it would be even more difficult than it already is because the AI being inherently better there already even without raising the difficulty further.

Scaling of engine & tyre wear

As far as I know you can't change the length of sessions during a weekend anymore. Only between weekends.
  14. Yeah, I agree. I have driven 46 25% races so far and all that ever happens is just mechanical DNFs. So the AI is just too perfect with their driving. Never make any mistakes while I have to use a flashback almost every race because I get sloppy when I get too comfortable.

    Achievement for fastest lawnmower

Well there should be an achievement to become the fastest lawnmower you can unlock with Bottas on Austria during Free Practice.

    2nd Driver

Yeah well, I just entered with AI 50 (was playing F1 2018 on AI 60-70 for most part) and beat the front teams in Australia in qualifying in my team, so I guess I could take it up a notch. But then the weird DSQ from Tire change bug hit me hard and ever since I have toned down the AI a bit so that I could fit a 2nd stop every race to overcome the bug. That bug really kills the experience because I don't want to be DSQ'd at the end of the race so I cheesed the AI but then they obviously fall back like +20sek and more so that I can pit 2nd time. That isn't a challenging experience tbh. Just one to overcome the bug. I pretty much beat them everywhere except for Monaco. There I have to admit I just suck + the controls suck too because I can't turn in as far as I'd need to in the hairpin losing precious time every lap, and also the AI kinda feels like it is from an entire different league there which I can't match. There I have to cheese it down to a level where I would lap them on every other track just to beat them in Qualify in Monaco. But yeah. If I would have to play it realistically I would probably have to crank up the difficulty so I barely outqualify the drivers of the team which is ranked above my team in the car power comparison.

    2nd Driver

Yeah, I guess then it might make sense. But by then you probably have upgraded the facility which passively-permanently boosts your 2nd driver stats to level 3 each. And maybe even bought an actually competitive 2nd driver from the market. Somebody like Norris or Albon which don't cost yet that much but have very good stats for their acclaim/money. If they carry home at least 4-8 points every race you can beat Mercedes at the constructors championship without any problems in the 2nd or 3rd season already. I could have beaten them on my first season already if I had only one such upper-midfield guy since I am the one who wins the races anyway and the only problem is the constant 2nd and 3rd place finishes of Hamilton and Bottas (even if they retire 1-3 times early on in the season by a matter of chance) which you can never set off all by yourself. You will lose the first constructors championship by a small margin. In the most it is 20-40 points or something if you manage to win (almost) every race an the drivers championship. At least I have no problems with the drivers championship. But that is also because I am not playing on the most difficult settings (still in the progress of figuring something out that makes it interesting but not too difficult, like increasing difficulty by 5% every half a season)
  18. So basically you always have Normal Mode and Fast Mode. (and what is normal and what is fast changes from session to session) ... and one button would suffice to enable the Fast Mode. Well I don't have any problem with that. Then the MFD shortcuts are simply superfluous because they would only be of relevance in practice mode, but who really cares about switching modes there. In previous F1 installments where the ERS Modes where more complicated I used to have it on automatic setting because I couldn't be bothered to switch up/down all the time around the lap. In my current F1 2020 PS4 controller setup I only have the Overtake button mapped to L1, and otherwise I don't really touch the ERS modes either. Actually I also had ERS on automatic when I started to play F1 2020 but I started to notice that the automatic mode rarely uses the Overtake mode (except if you are close to another car, on an inlap for pit or in the last lap at the end of race) so the battery gets full more often when running on Mode 1... and then the overcharging of the battery when it is full wears the battery by a whole lot. So that is why I eventually switched to ERS manual and now I activate overtake once I notice that the battery is about 85-90% at the start of a long straight so that I would avoid hitting the 100% battery charge which I might get by breaking into a slower sector afterwards. That said I am not yet sure if using the overtake mode won't adversely affect the MGU-K wear. Probably a balancing act between Battery wear and MGU-K wear.

    2nd Driver

So with other words... most activities are just temporary boosts for that weekend (at least most of them are put on the green + side)? If so that kinda is a waste of time then. Because if it only increases for example their racing stat by +1 for that weekend realistically seen it really won't make much of a difference for the race honestly. More like none. You'd be better off putting something else on the activity board like resource points/department morale or team/driver acclaim or money. Because in the long run you'd have to buy another existing F1 driver from the roster anyway because at the pace the F2 drivers increase their permanent stats (and they do, but very slowly apparently as I have noticed) it would take like 5 seasons already that they would eventually be competitive with the last guys down on the 2020 F1 Roster (except for Latifi maybe who is worse than Nyck de Vries already on season start)
  20. Nah I am not really offended. All I am saying is that Codemasters kinda should make up their mind about what they want with the ERS stuff. Because as it currently looks like it is half-baken. They kinda have the increase/decrease shortcuts, but they aren't really useful because they lock you into specific modes during each session. I am not crying for more realism either because honestly I don't know how the ERS system works in reallife and how the deployment is managed in real F1 cars. Instead I have actually no problems if the game takes a few freedoms from reality, but whatever they do... they kinda should make up their mind. If they want it to be a fully automated system, or one that works as one-button wonder like the DRS button or one where you have to manage a bunch of different modes (like the fuel modes). Whatever they want they should be more clear about it and remove legacy shortcuts that don't do anything because it only confuses people and leads to threads like this one.
  21. Honestly the different ERS deployment modes and their button configurations are a total mess that should be reviewed at some point anyway. In most practice programs most ERS modes are disabled entirely or fixed to a certain mode so you can't even change it on the MFD and also not with any shortcuts. In Qualifying you can only pick either Mode 0 aka None or Mode 2 aka Hotlap which is enabled by default. (even though I wouldn't know why not to use Hotlap there except if you have so good lap times that you want to save on MGU-K wear but overcharging the battery will wear the battery instead) In Race you can only Pick Mode 1 OR Mode 3 aka Overtake, the latter being enabled by another button instead of ERS Increase/Decrease. So in all cases I have found the ERS Increase/Decrease shortcuts to be pretty much useless in F1 2020. You can't change the deployment anywhere except if you do free practice laps. If I had to say something about the issue I would really only have ERS Mode Increase/Decrease and get rid of the extra Overtake button. Because if you can't select Mode 2 anyway during race... then there is no reason why the ERS Increase button can't skip from Mode 1 to Mode 3 directly... and the decrease switches back to Mode 1. That or make it only 1 button altogether because in most scenarios you can only have 1 of 2 modes... which might as well justify only having 1 button which cycles through the 2 modes available during each session/program.
  22. Agreed. I am close to finishing my first season (after I had to restart to avod certain other bugs)... but this is going to suck majorly if you can't pick up a proper 2nd driver because you get the money only in the after picking the 2nd driver. Well I guess one could hypothetically save a good portion of the money (for whoever 2nd driver you aim to pick) and then buy them at the next midseason negotiation. You'd only lose half a season, but better than nothing.
  23. Has any of you guys built the marketing upgrade that boosts acclaim? If so then that is the issue. Instead of adding the +10% acclaim it actually subtracts all acclaim after the facility upgrade. The only temporary fix is to shut down the marketing facility. Or wait for an update as this issue is already with the devs.

    2nd Driver

I have almost the feeling that this is intentional... to temporarily give your 2nd drive the edge. But tbh it would make sense if the stats stayed. Because how otherwise would one make a 2nd driver better... other than outright buying a better one from the roster.
  25. Ah my bad. Guess I misunderstood. Anyway... different question. Which I kinda don't want to start its own topic on... will there be a rebalancing of the engine supplier strengths? Because in reality we all have seen the performance of Ferrari lately and with their new engine you can't really place them on top of Mercedes anymore.
