  1. I've just read up on this so that I could make a well-informed point and I believe although, as you have hastened to point out on many an occasion, not sure. Ferrari can ask for something not to be used on grounds that it is affiliated with them, not just on the basis of them owning a word.

Yeah, nobody's experienced in this area, they just want to make sure that they've shown their undying love for Codemasters. Since you, like your predecessor, have no idea about whether you're talking fact or fiction but are offering empty, baseless speculation, perhaps you might like to clear the floor for someone from Codemasters to respond?

I'm quite happy to be openly critical about the f1 game, it is flawed, but in this particular aspect, you are making it sound as though Codemasters have gone out of their way to make a worse game. Do feel free to explain how adding a list of words that cant be used for no reason other than to laugh at the people buying the game would be a constructive use of their time. On that logic, the two people before me were not making "baseless speculation" and instead were making a logical conclusion.

Scuderia in English is also a place where horses are kept, eg, the prancing horses on the Ferrari logo. But that may just be an out of context meaning.

  3. Not experienced in this area but would say that as Ferrari owns the rights to their car they could essentially say if you are allowed to use this word in your team now you cant use our car in your game. as @ragequit1 said, no point moaning to Codemasters about it, I'm sure they would have preferred that we were allowed to use any name and any sponsor.

  4. It really depends on what you are using, on Xbox controller it is B and on ps4 its circle, after tapping it once to bring up fuel menu, its one-tap again. It's not on the menu where you speak to Jeff or if it is I still prefer the method I just described.

    I probably didn't help.

  5. On controller I’m really struggling, I don’t think it’s the ai have gotten lots better instead even with medium traction control I’m sliding out of corners. I think it’s the change in the way the car handles that’s catching a lot of us out.

  6. Codemasters are definitely receptive to criticism in my experience, game developers have to be to make a better game for the next year.

i don’t think you would be disadvantaged for criticising parts of the current game.

  7. The older players may not be the best as just because you have played the games for a while does not mean you are more likely to give feedback that's better than a new player, it also doesn't mean that you would be less likely to leak it. New players can often be helpful as they may go into the game and point out something really obvious that older players won't see. That being said it is probably helpful for the person to understand F1 to be in the beta 😂.

I'm a new player (only started to really get into the sport in mid-2018), but that doesn't mean that I don't understand the sport. Just because I haven't got many years of liking the sport and game wouldn't mean I'm not 'right'. I'm using myself as an example here, but clearly it would translate to other people.

TLDR: New players can have just as valuable feedback as older players and it purely depends on the quality of feedback. Older players may give better feedback as they have more experience but playing it longer alone doesn't make you the 'right' player. Codemasters will choose who they think it is right.

Looking back at it I realise I've written an essay so apologies to anyone who read it all.

  8. I think the vast majority of people are trustworthy but there are always a few who are going so see beta access as content for videos. If I'm selected it will be my first beta but people need to realise that it is not the full copy of the game and that they will only have access to a few modes. They do also need to realise that feedback is essential and the quality of it must also be good to do anything meaningful for the final release.

  9. There will inevitably be leaks, but that only spoils the surprise for everybody else. I definitely agree with you @cpayne32. It cemented by the fact that Codemasters probably won't allow people who leak the game back onto the next years beta. I just hope that they get all the feedback they want as it is up to the testers to help the game become as polished as possible for the final release.

  10. Main menu --> options -->settings --> controls --> Your controller --> edit

Then it shows the control scheme

You most likely did a grand Prix the first time and career mode the second or in grand Prix again and selected f2

  11. Check control scheme in the options menu, but basically:

    right trigger - accelerate

    left trigger - brake

    left stick - steer

    right bumper - change camera

    circle - change hud page

I'm on Xbox but doubt its different. Hope that helps 🙂
