with developers Gearbox Wear in MyTeam Master Thread
MaHeJo replied to XioGShep's topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
@BarryBL just a observation I have done. When watching YouTubers, such as iContrast. He is even harder on the gearbox then I am, but does not use flashbacks in the race; Yet his wear is way lower then mine. Just an observation. -
solved Gearbox Wear in MyTeam Master Thread

Can we get the game-mode in which your report was based off? I've only encountered it during MyTeam, since for me atm is the fun of the game. And is also one of the most critical gameplays where this bug is a hindering. And ofc. Carrier. Does the issue happen for you in every session, or just some? Cover as much detail here if possible please, so all modes, percentages. Yes. I use still use flashbacks. The sessions where I need to do this I see a heavier wear on the gearbox then others. For example I'm okay at Zandvoort using the minimal Flashbacks is somewhat okay (about 25-30%), but going for circuits I'm not so good at, Spain, I see a wear of +50% from a 50% length race. After 1.05 I deleted my old save and made a new one twice. Through the interview I answered so I got upgrades to the Dura to begin with. In my 1.03 save I could not get through 2 sessions without losing the gearbox. But when I started to get more comfi and using less Flashbacks the wear went down. Assist combinations, in particular things that would be gearbox related? Minal Breaking and ABS, Manual Gear. Screenshots are useful too, and I feel we may end up asking for savegames too at a point N/A but you have my saves that shows the wear on my gearboxes. Hope it helps. It's getting tiresome that I have to take a 27grid penalty for changing my gearbox after it only lasted 2 races. -

@BarryBL I created a new MyTeam save after the update was out. I actually did it twice to redo my first interview. But I still got the Gearbox Issue. Added my savegame savegame@profile#NXDSMWW.BWW savegame@profile#QKRHMYXE -

For me it looks like an issue regarding to flashbacks. I did the Dutch GP with very few flashbacks and it was an acceptable wear on the gearbox (28%). Then did the Spanish (which I sick at) with quite a lot of flashbacks.. yeah my gearbox was shut. So I'm leaning to the issues has something to do with how flashbacks is affecting the gearbox. I've seen YouTubers driver their gearbox harder then me, they don't use flashbacks, so they don't shave the same wear. -

Yeah.. I'm just gonna start over. I lost a lot due to this bug. But I'm glad it's being fixed. -

I just came of the F1 2019 game to play 2020 and used the same driving style. There is a clear difference in durability on the gearbox! I'm not running high revs and are shifting optimal revs. Yet I still have to switch gearbox every second event, sometimes after just one event. Yes I do use flashbacks, I'm still very new and not as good as many others. So I need that help, since I'm driving with as little assist as I can manage (it gives me the most speed). Did some searching on it; and it looks like it also was an issue in the beginning with F1 2019. It just seems very odd and very Buggy!
