This is not a « technical » issue, but more of an AI problem. Here's what happened.
Game mode : My team / 100% race / Wet conditions / Australia.
So, this is my first race on My team mode. I fight hard to keep up with the pack on Inter compound and my only stop is supposed to be on lap 29 of 58.
The whole race is supposed to be under wet conditions but the track is starting to dry, so I push on my Inter for 2 more laps, hoping to be able to swap to Slicks. But my engineer tells me the track is gonna stay wet, so I finally pit on lap 31 to wear a new set of Inters.
2 laps later I get a call from my engineer telling to pit because the strategy is being changed. I tell myself I missed the opportunity by 2 laps and we are gonna switch to Slicks on lap 33. But what a surprise when I see the pit crew putting on another set of Inters on my car... so much for changing the strategy.
I tried to use a flashback to change the tires and switch to Slicks, but the track was definitely too damp for Slicks. So there you go, my race is ruined, I lost almost an hour on this, just to be screwed by a bad call that made no sense... please take a look at this matter so it won’t happen again, it would be a shame not to be able to trust my own engineer.
