There's no damage model in the game at all.
-
there is FOV adjustment but only for Cockpit view. Helmet view has adjustable look to apex. That's all the camera adjustments you can do. I'm playing it but I should have listened to my head over my heart with this one, or my wallet at least haha. Loads missing from PC2, but definitely upped the arcade if you're into that, no pesky pit stops, damage or tire wear to worry about.

Psssh don't you know COVID was made up by codemasters so they could take a year off
-
Mostly bug fixes then, but this is interesting I didn't realise this went beyond the opening sequence. Anyone seen these at all?

I see it in my own work, it's the current climate unfortunately. Claiming to 'understand' but then dismiss a worldwide pandemic as not enough to prevent them getting what they want instantly.

How to know you're close to being dropped in Driver Career?
KNT2011 replied to Joethe155's topic in F1 Chat
Honestly don't mind this personally as it means I can run it as a season mode and drive for Ferrari for example, but have the season upgrades, interviews, driver moves and just all around presentation that it includes, as compared to bare bones championship mode. Now if they'd give us real drivers last names to use so I didn't have to think of something suitably F1 sounding to use I'd be happy. -

Yeah I agree on this. Not everything needs to be displayed, some things are better left to a level of mystery. You know Gasly wasn't looking at a bar when trying to figure out if his time was up at RB, and the pressure was red hot. -
Following I don't mind though it definitely have 'swaying' effect haha when you're on the quick change of direction sections. But really only one pass available with DRS into turn 1, unless you want to go nuts and risk at all elsewhere, means you get a poor exit off the last corner and you're stuck waiting another lap for the chance to roll round again. That's the nature of the circuit, and I enjoy it as a drive, but it is absolutely a challenging place, perfectly positioned among a really fast and action packed part of the calendar.

I enjoy the track generally but you can definitely feel like you're getting buried underneath it at times.

Spot on, the advantage being, that unlike Monaco, there's less chance of it biting back. I find the middle to last section is where players will lose time, opening turns are straightforward and down the hill into the quick left hander is a lot of fun to drive. Once you've cleared the chicane though I find it difficult to hit the same spots consistently, it has a little bit of the same challenge as Suzuka's esses where it's knowing what speed you need to be for each change of direction and nailing it perfectly. Or else there is a lot of time to be dropped here going into the final slow turns L/R at the end. It's easy to hit it one lap without even thinking about it then to find you've turned too late going in to the first left hander next lap and you become a passenger as your delta turns fire red.

I've been making an effort to enjoy all the trackside detail lately as I've come to appreciate the effort put in, especially to Monaco.

Enjoy this shot from 2017 as I enjoy driving as Massa in a vaguely competitive Williams from time to time.

Highly doubt this is true, but your expectations are unrealistic Being a bit silly now. You stated elsewhere you have bought several iterations of the last version and this one and have been unhappy with the AI in every one, with this info it's certainly not the games fault. Perhaps Wreckfest would be better for you.

For me this is the core of this issue. The game does a great job of replicating a real F1 race in video game form, on balance possibly it's the best we've had in this regard, however it isn't a slippin', slidin', cars coming off and smashing the wall, simulation extravaganza and it never really has been or claimed to be. At it's best, the AI competence and design provides an intense experience as you try to nail every corner to make up that tenth and get back on their tail to be in perfect position for another overtake attempt at that one spot on the circuit it's possible (Hi Hungary). This is very true to life and while real F1 racing will give us more incidents and mistakes, it's not as many as people seem to think or demand of this game. Would I like to see more, of course, and I hope they work on that, but it's a really enjoyable model as is and again, hasn't really claimed to provide more than it does. No one has been misled.

Doing some online races tonight for ***** and giggles, probably be the one and only time. Well you know I had to make sure I fit in enjoy!

Good God this thing is horrific I may not win but I will be despised

Career mode, and particularly after first few races, because of upgrades to cars arriving at different times, failing, needing replaced etc. adds more to the AI race exeprience and creates more incidents. This is not really seen in GP modes or running championship mode etc. as these features don't really apply. I see AI fighting, occasional crash, some mistakes, and safety car sometimes and VSC. I just don't expect to see these things every single time a car is off the road or a yellow flag is out. What is more likely, really, CM ship two different games? Or you're viewing your own experience with inherent bias.

They get to vote for the track and they choose Spain. Dear me what godless heathens are these.
-
Some of the tin buckets they drove around that place at insane speeds still boggle the mind. Bravery that will never be matched.
-
Yeah I wondered when I saw this, what distance are you running? I haven't had any problem with gearbox, if anything it lasts longer than predicted.
-
The first, which I assume you mean, is from Grand Prix Challenge as above. The second is of course F1 2020 classic mode Or Grand Prix Challenge 2 as I know it
-
I quite enjoyed the last one so lets have another, first corner Bahrain action I'm in the Alpha, I'm feeling like Ocon should have backed off here, no?

Memory is a wonderful thing as in my mind's eye, these are the same

For me I'd have to say the 2002 PS2 title Grand Prix Challenge Up until then it was mostly EA titles in the recent years, and while they were functional and had some interesting parts, they hadn't done what this game achieved. For the time the best visuals in an F1 game and as much attention paid to trackside detail as the cars had me watching full race replays (with HUD, CM!) just to admire the scenery. The handling was also a huge step forward, you could really feel the weight transfer through corners and the difference in a light car at the end of a fuel run to the heavy beast when you'd leave the pits. Looking back, of course visually it doesn't stand up to my memory but a cult classic F1 game, not from a big developer, and until perhaps Sony's versions in 05/06, the one I played the most. FYI @mahmutcan0163 you might want to change your subject slightly as it's not really clear what you're asking in the thread title.
