There's a lot I love about these games, but especially since 2019 the lighting has been so gorgeous to look at. And it's not even the most elaborate form of it I don't know if it's actually easy to pick up from a photo but they've done such a good job with just basic cloud cover lighting that with the fans going (as it's roasting hot here) really gives a fresh, 'at the track' feel when you're driving. Maybe it's all in my head, or can't be captured on just a screenshot, but with all the negativity we see on here daily, I just wanted to give a shout out to that feeling I get when driving in these conditions that brings such a small joy to me!

Motorsport Manager on PC is not perfect but it's not far. Steam Workshop mods are available to bring all the real F1 teams, drivers, liveries etc. to the game (the fictional teams are based on the real F1 teams anyway) plus lower category, GT and endurance series are available. Tracks aren't real but again are based on the real ones and look lovely It's a good time. https://store.steampowered.com/app/415200/Motorsport_Manager/

I really don't think it needs as much of an adjustment as it being stated. The AI does pass each other. And when the fastest cars come out of the pits behind slower cars, the faster cars still get ahead. Reading this thread you'd think Renault were winning all the GP's. There's some attention to be paid into the mid pack IMO, in terms of the closer cars getting past each other, but it's not even remotely as bad as is being painted. When it comes to these games, demands are made that are far beyond what competitors are doing, I understand why, but it does come across hyperbolic and I struggle to take much of it seriously. A lot of the struggles in overtakes in these games are true to life, and I don't have any more complaints about that as I would about real life F1. I'd love someone to name a top tier racing game in which the AI behaves as is demanded here, it does not exist, and I'm happy to say I've played them all and thoroughly love this genre. F1 2020 is probably the best I've played now I've gotta more into it than 2019. If they want constant AI passes, Nascar Heat can be an absolute blast to play, have at it.

Enjoyed this extended replay angle at Zandvoort that made the game look like Motorsport Manager!

Never noticed that before! The entire pit experience from the stops to the garage loadouts, even when compared to a lot other racers this gen, is so detailed and smooth, as an oldie gamer it's very cool and what we imagined back in the day. I especially enjoy if I look back when on the way out of the pits I can see the team packing all their stuff up and going back in, and other teams doing the same. Fantastic attention to details.

That's fine mate but for help on that you'll have to give some info on your setup. Are you on pad or wheel? If wheel what wheel? If pad, have you tried another ad, does it do the same? Is the effect noticeable in other games? Racing games if you're on wheel? Is it only at specific tracks of any straight where you're not using steering input?

+1 for this, I was looking at theirs for Australia to get a baseline on it until I realised what they have was perfect and was actually faster in dry than my own dry setup
-
You've bought Formula E 2020 by mistake
-
If you're on a pad the slight changes in direction are because after use (and it doesn't take much) the analogue sticks produce 'ghosting' where they move slightly on their own, this is an issue with the tech generally.

sounds like another F1 game old wives tale to me

So out of curiosity, you're saying Hamilton didn't win or finish top 3 still?

Interesting angle from the replay camera

I would pay some for a DLC pack with various helmets of that quality. IF only someone wanted my money...

Now, I know what you may be thinking We're back at it again! But I swear, I didn't even realise it was Ocon. I'd lost my concentration and was listening to Jeff babble on about something, completely missed the braking zone into Shanghai Turn 11 and the only way out was to swing it inside. I thought I had got away with it too! But no. And Ocon pitted after this lap, and he'd only just pitted before I came along, putting him last then and last at the end. This man is probably aching to punch me at some point

Nice and calm into turn 1 there
-
I'm about to play so I will turn in on everything until it turns red and we will see!
-
The arrows are red when they're alongside you (unless that's PC2 and I've got confused.) It's also only a faded single arrows if the car is near to you and a double bright white arrows if the car is right on your tail

Interesting thoughts guys, I think upon reflections, it is likely right I should have left space on the inside. Though to me, his line was always going to take him off track going inside like that. It's a shame then that the game has no way to really punish any move like that and I received a 'warning' which had no effect whatsoever on me yet Ocon's race was basically done. Of course it would be hard if not impossible to achieve something like that so useless to think about it too much.

It is, as the thread title says, always a disappointment. I posted elsewhere but the helmet you get from the Keep fighting DLC is gorgeous, detailed and fits in with the other drivers helmets very well. To know they can do it but to load Item Shop and find the same half and half or plain designs and some that just are graphically poor to look at is more frustrating now.
-
Well, my man damaged his front wing, spun into the grass, and rejoined last, so I'm not complaining too hard
-
Also interesting that the Keep Fighting DLC gives us a more realistic looking helmet to use Difficult to see with the halo. I hope CM can give us more detailed designs on the helmets instead of the plain ones now that don't fit in with the the rest of the drivers. And maybe even make them editable on the colours?! Would be lovely.

Crossing the line battered and bruised in Melbourne

They spent a lot or time and energy on their rain effects and clear to rain dynamic effect, and it does look very very good, so yes you're going to see it as often as the game can get away with. If I run a championship in GP mode I'll go with whatever the weather is for the next real life weekend, can make it very interesting and ensure I at least get more dry weekends. Would be nice but I doubt they'd do it in game.

Definitely needs looking at. It's a 20 point difficulty swing. Spa as well could do with a look.
