Completely disagree, I find the lap to be short, simple and a pleasure to drive, culminating in the fast sweeping right hander that feels great to nail perfectly. They are distance markers coming off the long straights so I don't see where you're having issues with this, of course it's fair enough to be finding it difficult, I find Silverstone a real challenge to keep up with AI where most people love the track so it's just how it goes sometimes. but Paul Ricard for me at least, is a lot of fun.

Codies should be considering Safety Car Simulator for next gen surely. The interesting in it would be incredible.

Unless you're just going to turn the difficulty down and smash the mode from the start, I don't think it's going to be for everyone. The first season at least, seems setup to give the player the experience of battling out the back and establishing themselves as a midfield outfit, it's going to be a grind at times for what seems like little gain. A lot of players are finding this swtich of gameplay refreshing and really appreciating it, but that doesn't mean it's going to be enjoyable to every player. The options remain to jump in single driver career and replace Bottas at Merc if you want.

Oh we could talk about this all day long It varies so wildly as to NEED SERIOUS ATTENTION BY CM but I digress. I typically race at 80-85. Goes as high as 95 for Austria, Spa. Goes as low as 70 for Monaco, Singapore, Baku.

So I remember reading on initial launch that you could replicate a 10 race 'covid' season and then go back to full calendars when starting career. I believe this was in the IGN review of it, can't be sure. So I'm seeing the page where I can pick 22 / 16 / 10 races then pick the tracks I want. Once season 1 finishes, am I able to redo this for the second season so as above, to go from a 10 race to 22 race calendar from season 1 to season 2 or is what I pick at the start what I get for the whole career?

That's great news. With customizable calendar so simulate the adding and losing of tracks over time in F1 plus driver retirements and promotion from F2, it's becoming quite a flexible mini world to play with.

So I can swap tracks in and out of a 16 race season each year? Cos that is awesome if so..

What is gained from cheating to this extent? Is it just to have your username top of the leaderboard? Is there anything else that can be gained or is that literally it?

Okay but this is balanced by my usual failure to even arrive in Singapore or Azerbaijan, bloody flight restrictions!

I remember those from the thread mate, the Vans one is especially good 👍 It's unfortunately dampened my interest in My Team, the original reason I picked up 2020 much earlier than I was going to, and until certain things are changed I don't see myself going into it as much as I had initially wanted. It needs better badges, these are a hangover from the online AVI badges from last year / 2018 and are not as detailed or interesting as the sponsor designs they have, they really need to add more here or let us use some of the sponsor designs which are very good. It needs a numerical value for colours to have uniformity across the different areas without a lot of frustration and tedious 'left a bit right a bit' faffing on.. It needs individual colour selection for sponsors as depending on livery you will have have white on black in one space and white on white in another and cannot really do anything about this and it looks poor. Tons more liveries and I mean double what is there plus variations on what they do have and ones designed to work with sponsor placements which currently is a real struggle. Changing font and colour of numbers as you mentioned, I'd also include being able to move it, if possible to fill some of the blank spaces left, especially on the nose. Once the bugs are fixed (and they have that awful yellow sponsor on racesuit one right now still as well) it looks like it will be a fun mode but really difficult currently to even get a car design onto the grid that feels like it belongs, and this accepting that some very talented players have made some nice designs they're very happy with and I applaud their creativity and persistence.

Hmm! As made clear in the opening post, I'd very much like to experience what the Sim damage setting has to offer for immersion, but it's difficult if it's only the player who experiences this, then you're not really immersed as I would like. I guess I will stick with full for the time being as that seems to offer the most balance without having none at all.

Appreciate your input mate. So in your opinion what is the best setting for the player to choose to have the closest to a level playing field as possible with the AI?
-
When I can turn on GT Sport and create any livery, helmet and racesuit I choose by placing and sizing shapes, lines, designs and logos in any colour pallet I choose and then share online and download others from a vast catalogue of creations you turn on F1 2020 and it's like I booted up Mario Kart in comparison (no offense to MK maybe it has a wonderful creation suite I'm not aware of!).

I like Paul Rcard a lot, it's a very quick and simple layout, reminds me of Silverstone very much in places. I haven't struggled with the runoff except going into the chicane after the first straight where finding the entry can take a bit of doing COTA honestly I wouldn't mind if they dug up the thing and turned it into a salt mine or something. Half joking but yeah, and it's not the runoff, it's just a painful lap of driving for me. I don't know, I was watching Blancpain at Paul Ricard the other day and the commentators were mentioning that some of the drivers complained of nausea caused by the run off paint strips, maybe it's a tiny bit of that transferred over to the sim version of the track that you're getting?
-
The issue would be here though that the AI doesn't get punctures? So even if the players gets a puncture, every, I don't know, 3 editions of the game, that's still something that will only impact the player, never the AI.
-
So many people complained about driver movements and now it's more subdued and 'realistic' people complain still. Amazing.

You'll get used to it with time. Things like ABS and traction control should be used as you like, what feels right in terms of racing for you, but definitely things like brake or steering assist should be moved off as soon as you can, the game gets far better when you have and can feel full control of your car. If you want to stretch out the time of the races so you can enjoy the strategy elements and focus and immersion it gives you, I'd recommend running Monza or Austria as these tracks don't require too much in terms of track learning or technical skill. I'll run a 100% race weekend at Monza sometimes just for the fun of it.
-
Oh you can't change it? I know the screen loads so I can change difficulty etc. just assumed. Sorry man!
-
When the track is loading (screen shows picture of the track, country) hit options / pause / whatever and all your settings will be there.
-
I think flashback would have been useful here, 2 hours into a 3 hour race Suspension just CONKED on the way up Eu Rouge left me a passenger. But this is why we play!
-
How long have you been playing?
-
I will have a look for this, thanks! This kind of thing would be great..... if it also affects the AI
-
I tend to use 50%, 25% for tracks I don't like. There is no 75%, that would be the ideal for me. 100% is touch too long for a video game race, it is not a full simulation after all, but 50% is not enough.

It's irritating because I would like to be on the same level as the AI when it comes to the race affecting them. I read (on these forums) someone saying that setting the damage to Sim caused more AI incidents in race (as the cars are damaged from contact etc.) and obviously, we all want more race incidents from the AI battling with each other, so then it reminded me of the user stating AI only uses full and never Sim. So now it is confusing, is any of this true, or is it all old wives tales haha. We need CM statement on this!

I can't say I've ever seen a punctured tire using Sim damage, I only know of this existing when tires are pushed 'too far' which I rarely, if ever do. You have seen this in game yourself? If so that is very interesting!
