No logic! Only fix!
-
I drive the Ferrari mostly in Grand Prix and championship modes and haven't noticed any issues with car control or setup. I don't know how development would affect the car in a career season 2 though.
-
Makes sense, thanks for the breakdown!
-
What does a 100 experience level give you from a practical standpoint?
-
It's not really the track shape that brings that same feeling, but when you're in the midst of a Hungarian GP, the short acceleration into long corner into short acceleration into long corner routine really puts me in the same rhythm as those NASCAR short tracks. Hungary having one or two overtaking spots as well means you can find yourself in a 'pack' to some extent at times. I was just wondering if a NASCAR racer felt any familiar muscle memory kicking in when racing in Hungary!
-
I wonder what you make of the Hungaroring? This track has a flow during races I find that is the closest F1 has to a NASCAR short track feel like Bristol or Martinsville.
-
Surely they still have Pastor's character model
-
Thats interesting though, never heard of this before. Are they generated by the game? Can you give us more info on them, screenshot perhaps?
-
You've unlocked TRON MODE
-
Yes I'm dying to play F1 2020: Max versus the silver arrows At least make it optional DLC or something

2019 but I thought this made for quite an artsy shot

I'm missing / forgetting something obvious I'm sure.. I was under the impressions if you reach Q3 you start the race on the tires you set your fastest Q3 lap with? However I did 1 Q3 lap and was happy with the time so went back to garage. I'm starting on 30% worn softs? Now, I went back out in Q2 to secure top ten, so that's the only set that could be anywhere near that level of worn. I start on Q2 tires? Or am I'm missing something obvious?

The user above answered the question with patience and good humour. There is no need for your input.

PC2 is the much better game IMO. Asetto just never feels quite right, sounds are all one note, graphics are sort of weird and not natural looking, handling is off. PC2 takes some fiddling, particularly with the handling, but once you've got it, it's a beaut. So many different options in racing, multi class real 24 hour Le Mans if you want it! Full Indy 500! And so so many more. Last night I ran V8 supercars, in a night race, on the Monza oval, cos why the hell not. The game is a sandbox for racing fans. Because of the choice, it never nails anything 100%, but it comes damn near close enough. Asetto never gave me that kind of feeling, thing feels like a bad arcade racer ported over to home systems. I ran a 12 hour Le Mans on Pc2 and took some screens from it:

Not even that, just add another tutorial vid in the menu explaining full qualifying, same as it explains all the practice sessions, would be perfectly fine. I'm sure I'm not the only one it would help. While I can watch bits and pieces these days, and keep up with the news to some degree, watching real life Qualy and things is not really possible.
-
Riiiiight, knacked myself going back out on the same tires in Q2, that's fine as long as it's a lesson learned for next time. Thanks mate. A tutorial vid on this in game would be nice.

It's a shame this doesn't happen. Project Cars has an option in the menu for a level of damage that can put you out of the race, and their damage model is very good / frustrating / makes you want to cry in a corner. Sony's last bash at an F1 game many moons ago had this, remember having my gearbox being stuck in 4th or something like that with 8 laps to go leading in Turkey (remember that??!?!) and it was incredibly tense, a lot of fun. Also had engine failures for the player as well. All in all, similar to what someone was saying earlier that they retire after a DRS failure and consider that a mechanical failure, I tend to knack up at 2 of the street courses so I count those as my DNF's for the year to level up with the AI lol.

Yeah, I think this could be sorted with some lines of dialogue from your crew chief or whoever setting expectations for these programs early on. This could stop players seeing that purple is a target and assuming they need to be hitting it from the jump.
-
While I do think some of the targets need tweaking, again I don't believe the goal is to be getting max R&D points straight away in My Team. Dropping the difficulty for the sessions and then raising it for the race is not the intended behaviour, Id' be surprised if it was. Of course players are free to do whatever for their enjoyment, but genuinely thinking this is causing people to have too much of a performance jump and be challenging at the top too quickly, and then I see complaints about the mode being too easy and people losing interest... If you see your initial 2nd driver, who can be boosted to be in the 90+ range stats wise over time! They do not complete the programs, especially not at the start...
-
Quite an interesting take, I think overall the moves, if you ca apply a bit of imagination to your fictional F1 world, are generally pretty good and logical. I think even stuff I've seen like Leclerc moving back down the grid to a smaller team, if you use some imagination about the possible outcomes of the chaos at Ferrari, it's not all that out of the realm of possibility. Intrigued in what you're saying above though, get directly involved? Do you mean in how you're interacting with certain drivers on race days yourself, as in back off them or attack them in race to see the consequences for them after? Otherwise I'm not sure what you mean by intervening.

Flashbacks are a genius addition not just to F1 games but racing games in general. My life isn't set up for me to the very best couch racer of all time, in fact it actively works against it, whether it be phone calls, door bells, the little one legging it through the front room with wet feet dripping everywhere. F1 drivers don't have to deal with that as everything around them is set up for them to excel in the car in that moment, my life.. not so much. Flashbacks are priceless.
-
Did you select enable PRO mode at the start? I've never done it but that sounds like what it does haha.
-
As far as I understand this is by design, you're no longer able to change teams in career if transfers are off. @BarryBL can you confirm that as a design choice?
-
I"ve managed to get myself stuck and had to reverse back out I can't remember the last time... As those virtual eyes staring at me, mocking me, the shame.

Since reading this thread I have now messed up this hairpin several times, something I have not had a problem with in 10+ years of F1 gaming. I have been in the braking zone thinking about this thread, ovethinking my choice of angle, braking speed, exit speed, nearly every time. I demand some sort of compensation!
