I just finished my first season on the my-team career mode. I chose Honda as my engine supplier so I could spend my money on other things, however, I almost instantly started to regret this decision. I just wasn't able to keep up with the other cars in the midfield so I was really looking forward to the end of the year so I could select a different engine supplier. Mexico and Abu Dhabi obviously were a pain in the ass with those never-ending straights BUT I had a beautiful Mercedes engine to look forward to, at least that's what I thought...
So the seaon ended and I sealed the Mercedes deal with the expectations of overtaking the majority of teams in the powertrain comparison in the R&D section. However, I'm still last, even after completing the first race weekend.
Has someone encountered this same problem? Do I have to wait a couple of weekends for it to update or does this new engine supplier only influence the updates I develop and not the base engine?
