In Practice mode on my team, AI drivers will set rediculously fast lap times. I only noticed this after I took the sponsor that requires you to set a fastest lap in any session, so I don't know if it is universal, or just exclusive to Silverstone and Hungary.
The AI will set sector times that are significantly faster than the surrounding ones. In the attached picture, Verstappen sets a 26.925 sector two on his 7th lap, setting the fastest lap of P1 on hard tyres. This is nearly 2 whole seconds faster than the 28.4+ he was running the rest of the stint. In Silverstone, The likes of Leclerc, Ricciardo, Bottas, and Kvyat all had similar sectors, with the worst being a 18.xxx sector in a car that was running on average 24.xxx times in that sector in the same stint. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of Silverstone.
2. Platform
Xbox One
3. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen)
1.05
4. Game-mode?
my team, Practise 1/2/3
5. What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too.
I restarted my Silverstone P2 session 5 times. I had forgotten to swap engine components beforehand so I was doing that at the beginning of the session and then skipping until it was installed. It happened again when I was using the pause menu to jump to the garage. So I stopped using those two, only using the flying lap option, and fast-forewarding through replacement instead of skipping. It seemed to work, well enough at least for me to set a fastest lap.
Next time I noticed in Hungary, I had used only the flying lap button, never skipping with anything else. At this point, I suspect it has to do with the AI being on track when the player skips time. If the flying lap breaks the game, it shouldn't be an easy to pick option.
6. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue
Not using skip repair time/jump to garage seemed to fix it, at least well enough that it wasnt too noticable. In Silverstone when I avoided flying laps and drove out for anything I didn't notice any at all. In Hungary I did use flying lap.
7. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc)
The xbox one controller that came with the system
