This occurs in singleplayer and multiplayer. At the start of the race everyone else sends off and you are stuck at your grid place with engine revving neutral gear.
Same thing happened to me. I'm using a wheel, and the upshift paddle is assigned to clutch. Hold down the clutch like normal and it stayed in neutral. I just went into the button assignments menu, reassigned the upshift paddle to the clutch (even though it was already assigned) and it fixed the problem. Check your race start assist too, but I think it might be a bug when your clutch is assigned to more than 1 button. I know it's not the best fix for online, but reassigning then restarting seems to work in single player. It should be noted that I only had this issue when I played PC2 then came back to f1 2020.

I added the APM (Advanced Paddle Module) to mine which I love and it adds two extra inputs which I use for DRS (left upper paddle) and ERS (right upper paddle). If I have one gripe with this wheel it's that some of the buttons/switches are harder to reach without removing a hand from the wheel, so I try to keep the more important functions close to my thumbs. There's actually not that many "super important" functions in F1 2020, so this is pretty easy to do.
Anyways, if I didn't have the APM, this is how I would lay out my wheel:
- DRS
-
Pit Setup Panel (MFD Shortcut)
- I just use this so I can quickly check what tire compound I'm using for the next stint so I don't have to cycle through the whole MFD Menu
- Brake Bias Decrease
-
Differential Increase/Decrease
- I've started using this a lot more recently in order to find an extra few tenths each lap, which is why I've assigned it to an encoder
- Fuel Mix Increase/Decrease
- Brake Bias Increase
- Radio / Voice Commands
- Pit-Limiter
- (The switches are difficult to reach without taking my hand off the wheel so I don't use them)
- Upshift
-
(This is a 7-way FunkySwitch, so you get quite a lot of options at the tip of your thumb)
- D-PAD: MFD Navigation (Up, Down, Left, Right)
- Press: Clutch
- Rotate **** Left/Right: ERS Increase/Decrease
- ERS
- (You could theoretically use this for Fuel Mix if you set your wheel to ENC mode (Tuning Menu Option), but I don't use the rotary dials for F1 2020)
-
Clutch
- I know this is a bit outside of the "thumb's reach away" parameter, but depending on how much you use the clutch you could always switch it with the Pit Setup Panel (Button #2)
- Pause
-
Reverse
- Again, I know this button isn't really "a thumb's reach away" but in my experience whenever I find myself having to reverse I can afford to take one hand off the wheel for a second to press the reverse button
- (I don't use the rotary dials for F1 2020)
- MFD
-
(Joystick)
- Joystick Down: Look Back
- Joystick Left/Right: Look Left/Look Right
- Press: Car Damage Panel (MFD Shortcut)
- Downshift
- (The switches are difficult to reach so I don't use them)
Hopefully this is somewhat helpful. I'd be happy to link a screenshot of my button mapping if you would like!
Thanks for the advice! Looking forward to it stopping. I'll try out some of those assignments

@BurnieBD Sorry, I believe the setting you want to increase is called "Steering Saturation". It's in the in-game controls options where you find "controls scheme - calibration - vibration & forcefeedback - MFD shortcuts"....it's under the "calibration" menu. I'm on PC but I believe it's the same menu on PS4. I'm not in front of my home computer or I would take a screen shot.

Hey, I'm upgrading my wheel from a G29 to Fanatec's Clubsport Formula V2 rim (+CSL base/pedals LC) and I'm wondering how you've assigned your rim's buttons? Searching Google has been a pain since most posts are regarding the lack of reassignment ability on the PS4 & XBOX. I'm on PC and from what I've read, there's no real issues with custom mapping buttons. I've got a pretty good idea what buttons are going to operate the different functions, but I'm curious what everyone else has done.
The obvious features that I'd like to have just a thumb's reach away: DRS > ERS+ > ERS- > Overtake > Fuel Mix+ > Fuel Mix- > Diff+ > Diff- > Brake Bal+ > Brake Bal-> Radio > Pit Limiter > Look Back > Clutch > Reverse
Any other suggestions for button assignments are welcome.
Also, in the control scheme options menu, what are the "Extra Action 1" & "Extra Action 2" button assignments for?

I play on PS4, with a logitech G29 wheel. Making turns in F1 is impossible. I have tried a couple of settings i found online, but non of them seem to work for me.
Can someone share their settings with me? or have any other tips.Thank you so much
Try increasing the sensitivity of the wheel in the game settings. Change your view to cockpit view and make sure that the virtual steering wheel turns the same amount as your G29 wheel. When I first started up the game with my G29, I had to turn my steering wheel about 900deg. to get full lock in the game. I increased the sensitivity and now I only turn my wheel about 200deg. to get full lock (similar to what the virtual wheel does). Hope this helps.

it generates a low throttle signal but not on every occasion having the foot removed. It feels it happens mostly in the low gears (2-4). I will have a look at the deadline. I have to lower likely, or?
I have the G29 for PC and had this same problem last week. When I would give small throttle inputs, or take my foot off the throttle pedal suddenly, the throttle would flutter on it's own without any input. You say it doesn't happen in other games but it might be worthwhile to calibrate the g29 pedals outside of the game (if you're on pc). Setup game controllers from your windows control panel and see if you're getting ghost input outside of the game. If you are, it's likely a dirty potentiometer in the pedal hardware. I Frankensteined my pedals out of the box so I didn't care about warrantee, so I took my pedals apart and cleaned the potentiometer. There's a video on Youtube if you search for it. My pedals work like new now. Took about 30 minutes of careful dissection. If you're not very handy with tools, if you care about your warrantee, or are thinking about contacting logitech about the issue, definitely don't take your pedals apart.
Like others have said, if the issue is only persistent in this one game, you can turn up the deadzone on your throttle pedal in the game settings (that's what I did before I tried cleaning them)

F1 2021 Feature Requests - End Game
in Suggestions
Posted
First and foremost, I approach most things in life with objective eyes. I can only begin to fathom the amount of time and financial investment that goes into the development of any video game, the frustration that goes along with accepting feedback from countless subjectively minded individual's opinions on where a development team's priorities should lie, and the ability to continually improve a product with such a high investment that only seems to be ridiculed on a daily basis.
So with that said - THANKYOU to CODEMASTERS for your continuous improvement and hard work to improve your product, and providing hundreds of thousands of gamers world-wide with such an enjoyable racing experience.
With F1 2020 being the flagship of the MyTeam saga, I feel like this feature was rolled out extremely well, with a very easy to navigate and user-friendly UI, and a welcome addition to the already dominant career mode that's so highly sought after in the sim world. With F1 2020, the end game of MyTeam has much to look forward to. It's not there yet, but what could become is exciting.
Now for the suggestions. I know there's been a lot of negative feedback regarding MyTeam in that you "cap out" very early on if you're not careful in maintaining realism. Users are forced to limit their facility upgrades, avoid lucrative sponsorships, avoid generating RP, and limit the spending of the easily acquired RP, all for the sake of delaying the inevitable - the end game.
In order to keep the user group invested, we need a little more to work towards (end game). We will happily pay for DLC, skins, liveries, helmets, logos, badges etc. For the sake of this post, and to stay on track with the title, working towards a long term and seemingly unachievable goal will keep your game relevant for much longer than 1 year before the next game is rolled out.
What I suggest/ would love to see available in F1 2021 for MyTeam:
