  1. I get the feeling F1 2014 will be CM's first venture onto next gen but I think they're keeping quiet about it because they want to give Autosport it's time in the spotlight first especially given it's their next game being released. Plus the fact that CM like to wait till a couple of months before release before announce anything means we shouldn't give up hope yet. I think we'llhear something about 2014 at some stage in July or at the latest early August given the game generally has a release date around the same time as the Fifa's
  2. I never progressed far enouh to ggive this a go but yeah I heard about it. I couldn't see myself doing a full 24 hours though. I struggle to just about do the 100% F1 races when I do them on my F1 games as normally I stick at 25% when in career mode
  3. given that Autosport is still running on a very much Grid 2 type engine I doubt it  but you never know
  4. I think Tuner's more of a rally driver type of discipline really given it's all about drifting and time attack I probably could do time attack OK as that's similar to doing a qualifying lap in F1 in a sense but I suck at drifting I just can't seem to hold the car going sideways without spinning out most of the time whenever I've done those events on other games I'll be giving it a go just as I will all the disciplines but I don't expect to be doing a great deal in that discipline I expect I'll be hopping over to the tuner discipline quite often, but I wouldn't want to start there. Since the tuner class is all about precision driving (car control in drift, steady racing lines in time attack, etc.) I would want to have a decent handle on the game before I even think about tackling the tuner discipline. Same with endurance, I want to get to grips with the physics engine first, then make the leap to tire management. This is also why I've chosen touring as my starting point. A little rubbing never hurt anyone in touring cars. :D yeah I agree that's why I chose to start there as well I was always planning to start either in the touring or open wheel categories as those are the areas I'm most familiar with till I had a handle of the game. I'm not that familiar with Endurance racing but I know of it of course and racing at night intrigues me. I know pretty much all the tracks aside from this Autosport raceway they've added but aside from Yas Marina I've never driven any of them at night. I'll be giving everything a go even the street disciplines too but street and Tuner aren't for me as much fun as the track based disciplines I like them and I still do find them fun don't get me wrong. I'm just more of a fan of getting out there and racing in track based disciplines
  5. tbh I'm on the fence on this one really as I would love to see real life championships but to get them though it could cost a lot of money and can they guarantee the game will sell enough to justify it? At least with the way they do Grid they've given us a mix of different racing styles mixed in with a few interesting challenges along the way. I think the way they've done it by keeping things as general as possible will help sell more. I think this will also encourage more people to give this game a go further down the road

    The Game Thread!

after seeing that so do I growing up I always liked elephants now I think I know why :p got to say though I'm not really a Far Cry fan but this looks incredibly realistic I may be tempted to get this

Grid Autosport Videos and screen shots thread

well unlike the F1 games this game doesn't have tyre degredation unless you're racing in Endurance so you can get away I guess with a bit of late braking but as I said in my previous post everything's still being tweaked and it's not the final build so until the game does come out and is in our hands we won't know 100%
  8. Well street has 7 now :D I'm looking forward to all the modes except drift events, so glad that we can choose to not play any modes we don't like this time round unlike Grid 2. Yeah I think that's one of the plus points of this game in that we can pick and choose our events I don't like drifting either although I may be OK at time attack I'll give tuner a go but I doubt I'll do any more than maybe a couple of seasons just to say I've given it a go. Openwheel is probably my strongest discipline as the F1 games I tend to play most whenever I'm in a racing mood and I win most in those I've done a fair bit of Touring cars in the TOCA series and won there in some events not my strongest discipline but a fun one. I've done some Endurance racing in NFS Shift but not too much night racing so I'm intrigued as to how well I'll go here. I think the fact there is practice and qualifying will help people get to grips with the various disciplines as well

Grid Autosport Videos and screen shots thread

Hmm, is there another harder difficulty level after Very Hard, because the way the player was going too fast into some of the corners and locking up yet they still managed to keep up with the AI lead car is a little worrying? not that I'm aware of Very Hard is the hardest setting I think but @Loore has said that everything is still being tweaked though including the AI and will be right up until release I believe having said that though these sim racing guys are pretty good at their racing games at least based on the video's I've seen them do anyway
  10. While it could work I think having 12 hour races would still be a bit long Not actual 12 hr races, but like they did in original Grid but with adjustable length, Pitting and Driver Changes. Would be pretty awesome way to do Endurance races. well I think given the amount of content that's already in the game I doubt too many will complain about that too much. I know I certainly won't anyway as I think it's got more than enough content to keep me busy on it for a good long while and as @Loore said the career mode is quite lengthy this time unlike Grid 2

Guess that's what happens when you play for Aston Villa :p Sent to hell is what you get when you play for Villa. Mind you, Aston is worse than hell. Had a feeling you might say that :p
  12. Couldn't agree more!  I tyhink most of us would love to see this monster back maybe given that Hockenheim is back this year as part of 2014 maybe we'll see it's big brother back too we cab only hope.

Dat der wee race in Canadia.

That's more down to the cars than the actual drivers though I think at the moment

Dat der wee race in Canadia.

It almost feels like Alonso fell into the trap in 2008 when he rejoined Renault. He's still got a few good years left in him, I can't help but think though he's gonna have to take a gamble and leave Ferrari to have another chance at a 3rd WDC.I don't want him to leave Ferrari, I'd love for them to find race winning competitiveness again, but after 4 and a bit seasons with them not having a car that's really a proper frontrunner it's looking kinda grim. Yeah he just needs some kind of opening somewhere really in one of the bigger teams I'm pretty sure Mercedes will stick with what they've got for now so obviously that's a no. The only potential move he could make is going back to McLaren but I'm not sure he'd be open to that really given their history. I think although McLaren have slumped recently I think they could get back up to the front now that Ron Dennis has reasserted his authority on the team Alonso will probably still need to wait a couple of years though before McLaren could deliver a car he needs though. Right now I don't think Ferrari know what direction they want to go in and I think that's half their problem. They've got probably the 2 fastest drivers on the grid imo yet they haven't given them the tools they need to do the job.

would have thought so as most games have multi lingual modes

well I grew up listening to Motty just like I did with Murray Walker so goyt used to their styles of commentary same with Ted Lowe on Snooker when he used to whisper

    The Game Thread!

They cost too much, better off getting a PC although the price tends to escalate if you don't already have some of the basics like a monitor etc. well most PC's can run off a standard HDtv as well as long as you have a High def cable connected to the graphics card that's how I use my PC  certainly saves on the desk space
  19. While it could work I think having 12 hour races would still be a bit long

Dat der wee race in Canadia.

I think he could but he needs a decent car with a solid powerplant I just don't think Ferrari is as solid as it once was as they seem to be about the same sort of level they were at before Micheal Schumacher joined imo. Was surprised that Alonso didn't do what Massa did and took the plunge for Williams tbh especially knowing they had Mercedes power this year and are looking for a way back to the top

Does the pc preview build include the high res dlc?

can't sqay for sure but it looks like a slightly higher quality anyway especially the open wheel vid to me it does anyway

actually I was watching footbsall long before Martin Tyler was even commentating tbf he only started commentating on it when Sky bought it all up and before that it was John Motson who did all that work for the BBC and tbh I preferred Motson's commentary still do tbh. Ithink although Skuy may have better analysts when it comes to commentary BBC and ITV have got it nailed at least on the football side. With F1 Sky have got the best team but I can't say that about football. This is just my opinion though

    Official Football Thread

yep that's him kind of to me a commentator in the same league as Murray Walker was to F1 a legend he's been commentating on football as long as I can remember anyway certainly in all the years I've watched it.

Does the pc preview build include the high res dlc?

Just to answer your question some of the earlier builds didn't while some of the newer ones do. Would be tough to say from for sure depends when they were creating the videos. thanks for your reply.  There's more than one build being previewed at the moment then?  Do you know who's got the newest one?  If I were to guess I'd say the big magazine type ones have as I've been watching the Insidesim racing visd and the copy they seem to hav seems to be of a slightly higher quality than some of the other vids it may just be the way they're filming their review vids I'm not sure  check out the vid thread I set up and compare them for yourself if you like as I posted a couple of their vids in there http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/692/grid-autosport-videos-and-screen-shots-thread#latest
  25. Tuner is pretty good fun, I'm currently smashing @loore on the drift leaderboards Had a feeling you might be :p @Loore strikes me as a better racer anyway than a drifter given he's got quite a few F1 achievements on his Steam page. I'm looking forward to playing all the disciplines though
