Wishlist for GRID: Autosport/What cars/tracks do you want to see in Autosport?
sjsharp2010 replied to RevolverOcelot's topic in General Discussion
I think the Aston martin is in actually in at least as part of Endurance anyway I know that the AM Vantage was in shift 1 as I bought that car for the tier 3 events I did in in Shift 1 not too suer about the other cars though although I think I do remember seeing the Lotus Exige on the car list on this forum too. -
What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS
sjsharp2010 replied to mateyapfc's topic in General Discussion
I think it probably would overtaking illegsally can be easily spotted but blocking moves aren't so obvious because everybody has their own line for taking corners and could be easily misinterpreted as blocking -
Grid Autosport Videos and screen shots thread

in multiplayer and or practice mode you may be able to I think but if I remember rightly @Loore did say that in career mode the openwheelers like the Endurance and touring cars are mostly confined to the tracks although I think he also said there are 1 or 2 street track events in the disciplines to shake things up a bit but they'll mostly be at the racetracks. To do the street track moer in general then you 'll need the street discipline. -
If i had the room i would get one :( same here plus with my disability it's hard for me to use one anyway so I'm not really sure a wheel would help me

To be fair that car does look a massive handful - and he did explain that he's driving with an xbox one controller. Sim-based games are -not- easy to play with controllers. :/ But yeah, if he drives like that online he's going to start getting smashed off by people. He'll have to learn pretty quickly else he'll not have the cash to repair the thing :P Shame that the majority of people that get the press-release version of the game ... can't drive. at all. The team VVV guy and the inside sim racing guys aer probably the best drivers and are also taking on the AI at generally it's hardest difficulties I think can't be too sure I know Darin(Inside Sim racing) is using hard/V hard difficulties for his vids but then sometimes I find to watch someone that's not using a wheel and is using a keyboard/controller as it gives an idea as to how the game will handle for me and for those that use those tools instead because not everyone uses a wheel or even wants too. I know I don't use a wheel because of my disability it's hard for me to do so. I use the keyboard for my racing games it's simple and works for me. Seeing as I generally play games at their lowest difficulties as well which are definitely lower than these vids gives me hope that I can compete with it as well. Very true but at least it's good that he's showing you can still compete with the AI on a controller though even if it is more difficult on the higher levels

as am I I thi9nk if there isn't any sign of improvement in this years game I'll almost certainly skip it and stick with what I've got

Should advanced control options be available for ALL types of controllers?
sjsharp2010 replied to Bob422's topic in General Discussion
exactly as handicapped person myself being only able to use 1 hand I use the keyboard and configure the controls to one area of it. I don't play online but I certainly recognise that having plenty of options does make it easier -
yeah it's too narrow for my liking on Shift 1 nowhere to make a move and overtake I can certainly see why it was abandoned in favour of the new Nurburgring

you get al the cool jobs and let @justbiglee carry the can wonder how he feels about this bitter and/or twisted Nah just kidding maybe. aww you know we love ya :p
-
Would be even better if gamepads actually worked. well it is still a work in progress I think I've managed to put together a few clean laps of Monza on the game via keyboard not particularly quick laps but still I think with a bit of practice I'll get a bit faster

Grid Autosport Videos and screen shots thread
sjsharp2010 replied to sjsharp2010's topic in General Discussion
Just thought I'd say that if anyone has any comments about the vids in here feel free to post them after all I'm hoping to make this the official Grid Autosport video thread and hopefully things will stick and if anyone has any videos or pics to share with the rest of the forum about Autosport then this is the place to come. -

Ford GT40 MK1 Vs Mont Tremblant // Gameplay Trailer
sjsharp2010 replied to Loore's topic in General Discussion
yeah I did explain to them on one of the vids too that although it does share some elements with Grid 2 like graphics and cars and tracks but the graphics look like they've received a boost in performance the handling is not one of the items they share as it looks to me at least race wise it performs a little more like the F1 titles and by that I mean F1's 2010-2012 not 2013.except with touring cars and the other cool stuff CM have put in there and the handling characteristics associated with those vehicles -
Fastest times om Spa in 2013 and 88's Shumacher's Ferrari
sjsharp2010 replied to FFOman's topic in General Discussion
I assume you mean his 98 Ferrari Schumacher wasn't in F1 till 1991 but yeah the cars in 2013 are very twitchy that's one of the resaons why I'm not too fond of the game compared to it's predecessors I downloaded a grip mod to help me. I'm not a great driver and I normally play at Amateur pace. I normally set about 1min 50 I think in the dry. I'm at Valencia in my game at the moment. But when I next go to Spa I'll update this posrt with my times -
yeag I agree I think CM need to pull something special out of the bag for this series because at the moment unless it's a significant step up from 2013 I'll be giving it a miss. Grid has realised their mistakes and corrected them to my satisfaction at least I just hope F1 does the same.

Had a feeling you migh t say that we don't seem to agree on much do we :p

I agree I think sometimes though Ai can be a little over the top at least I think so. Based on what I've seen I don't think that's the case with Autosports AI. NFS Shift games can be like that occasionally as could Grid 2's. F1 2013's AI I thought wsa over the top too. I certainly think based on what I've seen Autosport is a lot calmer so hopefully a lot better to race against.

yeah it looks really nice doesn't it I recently bought it on Steam I'm not really a big sim fan but it looked really nice and I couldn't really resist. Just completed Shift 1 I'm so proud of myself :D

Looking for experianced comments on CodeMasters F1 series, iRacing Grand prix sim, and rFactor sims
sjsharp2010 replied to FFOman's topic in Off-topic Discussion
never played Iracing or rfactor myself there are plenty of people who have on here I think. With CM's games they're more of a semi sim nature rather than full and by that I mean they put in a lot of assists and different levels of AI to cater for all types of players whether they be newcomers to motor racing or experienced racers again like a lot of people on this forum I'm not experienced at full sims but I do enjoy a good semi sim because although I'm a big racing fan I'm not a particularly quick driver in comparison as I quite often play on the bottom levels because quite honestly I'm not fast enough. -
Grid Autosport: Which is Street Circuit Location are you looking forward to playing?
sjsharp2010 replied to KingOfTheCakes's topic in General Discussion
I doubt it as they are 2 separate teams yes they both work under the CM label but they are different teams but then I just hope that team does a good job of freshening up the F1 games like the Grid team have done with Autosport because the Grid team have set the bar very high. Especially as the F1 game probably needs more of a freshen up than what Grid probably did -
Ford GT40 MK1 Vs Mont Tremblant // Gameplay Trailer
sjsharp2010 replied to Loore's topic in General Discussion
I could be wrong and I probably am but I always thought CM took the sound from the cars they're modelled on or if they can't gain access to the cars themselves then they take sound samples from elsewhere -
TBH not a big fan of the track racing it on Shift but it's not in Autosport at least not as one of the main tracks it may be added later as DLC but right now I wouldn't count on it

How important do you think Setup's will be?
sjsharp2010 replied to mikevoltz1's topic in General Discussion
I generally use the default setups as well I don't like playing around too much with settings plus racing AI generally you don't need to I don't think -
Open wheel and touring cars both have races that last up to 5 laps you can choose to have 3,4 or 5 laps anyway Endurance races have a maximum time of 40 minutes all 3 disciplines have practice and qualifying though. Each stage of the career mode does have multiple races in them though so you have say a couple of races at Brands Hatch then another couple of races at another venue like Yas Marina. It looks like that career mode is structured in a similar way to the Shift games but it's supposed to work in a similar way to the original Grid game as near as I can tell from vids and things I've seen. I assume you're reffering to Grid Autosport right?
