Which Discipline will you start your career with on Grid Autosport
sjsharp2010 replied to sjsharp2010's topic in General Discussion
I think Tuner's more of a rally driver type of discipline really given it's all about drifting and time attack I probably could do time attack OK as that's similar to doing a qualifying lap in F1 in a sense but I suck at drifting I just can't seem to hold the car going sideways without spinning out most of the time whenever I've done those events on other games I'll be giving it a go just as I will all the disciplines but I don't expect to be doing a great deal in that discipline -

think this is up on this forum elsewhere e but it's a vid explaining a little bit about how the Endurance works in Autosport https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_zNn13esVI not to mention a nice look at Sepang at night Again this vid may/ may not be up here not suer but here's some open wheel action at Jarama https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhqWA_WlSQA -
strangely enough I'm not in my opinion the only way England will get past the group stage is to not lose a gsame if England lose even 1 of their group games they're gone me and my brother agree that if England lose even once they're out they can afford 2 draws maybe but they can't afford any losses.

yeah I agree think we'd gave won many ,more world cups if we had banded together :p

Grid Autosport: Which is Street Circuit Location are you looking forward to playing?
sjsharp2010 replied to KingOfTheCakes's topic in General Discussion
I think @Loore said there are 1 or 2 Open wheel races on street circuits in Autosport but generally they're confined to the proper circuits in the game. I'm the opposite to you then as I find trying to get around a bumpy street track harder than a normal race track as being a bit of a late breaker as I do tend to go on into a barrier in those instances. :p On racetracks that's never a problem to me as I know where to put the car and brake in order to progress up the order and make my moves. On a street especially when it's a track I don't know I find it hard -
But it's still only an official camera mod. Cockpit is low-detailed. Why modders can create highly detailed car interior for GTA4, but official developers can't? I guess it is either lack of time to fully polish all 80 cockpits or the last gen consoles could not handle high detail cockpit due to low RAM capacity. If there is a next gen release of Autosport, then, low detail cockpits arent acceptable. Most GTA4 cars are took from other games, such as Forza which the cars from Forza already have detailed cockpit. C'mon dude, look at Shift Unleashed 2. Old gen can handle full detailed interiors. Then, it could be time constrain. I am not a developer of Grid Autosport so how would I know the actual reason behind it?.Personally, I dont thinK Shift 2's cars are as detailed as Grid Autosport, probably because I am spoiled by the insane model quality in Project CARS. Cant you guys just cut them some slack? At least they tried to bring back everything to what Grid 1 was with similar to Grid 1 driving physics, lots of race tracks and about half of the car list are track cars. This game looks way better than Grid 2 was at this moment. I agree 100% I think it was just time that led to the lower res cockpits I think they could have done better with more time. But like you I think they've tried to do this with as short a turnaround as possible and with everything they've done and put into the game I think they've done a magnificent job I love my puddings and they do say the proof of the pudding is in the eati9ng but I have to say it's certainly looking like a tasty cake :p

here's another interesting touring car vid this time at Istanbul park https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNlztz6mVjE -
I don't think CM will screw up like that again either at least I hope not. A lot of mistakes were made last year with both Grid and F1. At least CM appear to be acknowledging that now and are trying to put things right. I just hope that F1 2014 turns out to be as good an attempt to get us back onside as this Grid attempt appears to be because I'm really looking forward to this.

I may do that to yet haven't really decided and I certainly think I'll enjoy all the game modes on the game but I'm certainly thinking to start with my main focus will be on the first 3 -

no love for the Tuner discipline yet I see I'm guessing @justbiglee will probably vote for tuner though given I read he's a bit of a rally nut :p -

tbh it is for me too although iwill probably have a run on the street tracks at some stage the race tracks are where my attention is going for the most part -
will stick with my Amazon order as I know I want a hard copy of this game plus it's faster installing from disc anyway

Why would he, though? 'A lot further back' would be something like a CDM role- and while you can attack from there (e.g. Xabi Alonso) that's not what Fabregas specialises in. yeah he's more of an attacking midfielder than defensive I agree give him the Lampard role in the team and he'll do a lot of damage.

U got a point, but how many of those gamers comes to the forums? I for one am not into the tuners and street. It's almost also as if I wanna say: -if u wanna do open-wheelers get the F1-game :D maybe but the beauty of Grid is the fact that you get to race different machines across different disciplines it gives you the option to try different things. I'm primarily an open wheel racer as F1 is the racing game I play most and if I was only interested in that I'd stick with it. Grid and Dirt (fits in this as well) gives the option of racing something outside of the norm so for example I can take a Touring car or a drift machine out for a spin instead of an F1 car. Otherwise CM may as well stick with the F1 series and not give us any more Grids and I think that would be worse. Personally I think they've got this game right in terms of the mix thus far (especially as we can now choose the discipline we want or a mix of them) but I'm going purely on observation though. -
Laying on your hood sounds more like nose cam to me....which i dont generally use because its far to low. I used to use chase cam when i was younger, but that was because i wanted to 'see' the car i was driving. Now i prefer to drive the car i am driving and hood cam is the easiest cam to use, especially without track-ir. cockpit view seems to restricted for my liking. Yeah I agree that's why I don't use it I'm not too worried about what's behind me as the arrows give me enough info in that regard I use hood view or bonnet view (as I call it) because I need to be able to see enough out ahead to plan my next move and see where I can make one and to do this I like to see what's up the road ahead that's why I use the T cam on the open wheelers for the same reason

5 laps is a long race. I have trouble doing 5 laps without screwing up somewhere and letting Gooner pass me. :P I can remember back in the old days with GRID 1, at one time we use to do 30 min races in a private host for a tournament. 30 mins with a force feedback wheel, you start to feel it in your arms after 20 mins. I could not last doing a 2 hour race. I only do the odd 100% race on F1 as that's usually plenty enough for me too. I normally prefer 25% career mode distance races although I don't play with a wheel it can get tiring after a while on keyboard with one hand.

yeah those are my main disciplines too. I don't expect to touch tuner much as I suck at drifting although I will have a go at all 5 disciplines Street I may be OK with after a bit of practice but I don't really care that much for that discipline Obviously I think Open wheel is my top discipline as I tend to do best in F1 type cars but racing at night in Endurance intrigues me as well did a spot of Endurance racing yesterday on Shift and F1 as a little bit of practice was a lot of fun too -
Last I heard the high res textures have something to do with erflections and things like this maybe @Loore can give us some more details but that's all I remember

think this vid shows you not only need to look after the car but you also need your wits about yo in Endurance too as Darin proved -
There are numerous sites selling Cdkeys, it's very much a grey area. The Gaming companies don't tend to interfere with them, and a lot of people do use them. At some point I guess things will get better defined but until then you take your chances with them. If you are worried about playing online with them don't be, they are not illegal copies . . . I don't use them myself, £34.50 for the Black edition hard copy at Game is a fair price . . . ~O) or £29.86 for my copy from Amazon bargain for a great game like Autosport

That's the one! You made me curious, and I had to Google the car. http://www.speedsport-magazine.com/media/images/meldeliste/zoom1000/zele-racing-lola-b05-52-zytek-sistos-26877.jpg ...? If so .... holy damn that looks sexy. Needless to say I'm going to be thoroughly looking forwards to tier-2 open-wheel races if that's the case :) yeah looks fast doesn't it? :p -
Yeah there is always the next time :D
