yeah that's why I went with Amazon because I wanted a disc version as well. I have started buying games on download but this games of the kind I think I'd want to keep based on what I've seen and heard anyway I never buy digital games unless it's a small indie title. I almost skipped F1 2013 because the physical copy never came out in North America, and I didn't want to import from Europe. Even though I think F1 2013 is an awesome game after having played it, I still wouldn't buy a digital copy. It ended up working out for me though. I only download some games mostly the yearly release title games like FiFA basically to help save shelf space as these types of games don't change much from year to year but for the games that really matter to me I still buy disc copies but it depends on the game and how badly I want it. I nearly skipped 2013 as well and tbh after playing the game there are days when I wish I had because apart from the classic part I don't really enjoy it as much as the others. I only bought it on download so don't have a disc copy but it's still fun just not as much fun as I would have liked.

well if you like your Sci-Fi then you'll love Mass Effect that's for sure Epic trilogy not to mention one of my personal favourites :D

have to agree with Mike he did what he did to make sure Hill went into retirement too because he knew that was the only way he'd take the title. Schumacher knew his car was damaged and couldn't continue so in my opinion that counts but it's not just his actions on track though as I felt he had a bit of arrogance in his interviews as well in general just his overall demeanour seemed arrogant to me. I'm not saying he didn't deserve the success he got because for the most part I think he did but In general he didn't strike me as particularly friendly and a win at all costs kind of guy during those years

I think in the vid you were talking about I think it was set to visual only if that's the case then it was turned down to minmum levels so I wouldn't panic just yet

Street tracks do move across discipline, you can race it with Open Wheel for example. Generally Touring and Endurance are more circuit based though, as you can imagine. I'm sure that'll spice the action up a bit then again I'm sure. :D As long as thje street tracks don't become to intrusive then I think that's OK as I think the disciplines should stick to what is largely their type of venue. I think we'd only really want them appearing every now and then

same here and that's what I'd give them too :D

P.S i wont be adding that Andrew Stevens to my friends list anytime soon... hes a ramming S**T lmao =)) I agree he is somewhat aggressive isn't he. I was watching a vid of NFS Shift 1 of somebody driving like that last night as well they won the race but were a little overaggressive while doing it and it almost cost them. Personally although I'm quite a slow driver which is why I play on the lower level I am quite precise in that I generally can follow the racing line without spinning out too often Although I do recognise that when racing those cars you are going to need to need to do a bit of bumping and grinding to get through the races as the pro's do touch a few times in a race too so an elbows out approach I think will sometimes be needed but he did take it a touch too far I think.

can't speak from personal experience but I think @RevolvingPrawn has used them for games so you might want to ask him

yeah open wheel is probably my main discipline with touring and Endurance my secondary ones although having said that I'm thinking as a starter I'll probably open my account with the touring cars but I got to say I'm really looking forward to this

Never bought Grid due to being Arcade but this one look good, but please

I think that's something I'd like to know too. If it handles like the Shift games then I think we'll all be OK as I like and play those too in fact I'm playing them in practice for this. I think Shift would be a better benchmark given F1 has a more late breaker style to it as you can brake quite late in F1 as I use that tactic a fair bit to make up places myself. you can't really use this method quite so much in the other disciplines as those cars have a much different handling style. You can still outbrake people but you do need to brake earlier obviously in a touring car than with an F1 car. I struggled with the first Grid as well. Grid 2 they did Ok with difficulty wise I think even if it was a little arcadey and the career mode was a little too short but taking that out the equation it was still for the most part a good fun game. I know that in terms of career structure and handling it's leaning more back Grid 1's way. @loore can you shed any further light on this? -

@Loore Hope it's not so hard that those using assists can't keep up though I had enough trouble with that on Grid 1. How is it looking at the other end of the Ai spectrum on Easy/Very easy as that's the levels I generally play on. and with the way that F1 2013's AI is in comparison to the assists in that game I think my concerns are warranted You should be fine :) The game provides a nice balance throughout all the difficulty settings and as you mentioned, there's assists there for those that want to use them. Thanks Loore just wanted to make sure that us slower guys aren't forgotten about is all like we were with F1 2013 as the the Amateur Level's a bit of a mess in that game whereas it was fine in the earlier one's because the assists just don't work at the same pace as Amateur on that game -

just unlocked the last tier on Shift 1 now the real fun can begin
-
I've signed up too ordered the game on Amazon
-
they did that with dead space 1 a few weeks ago I downloaded but couldn't get into it the controls were too awkward shame really as I may have gone in and bought 2 and 3 if I had got on with it OK
-
yeah I think that was mostly the problem for me too I could take and handle the tracks just fine for the most part it was the AI's general speed that was the problem because even on easy they were leaving me behind in their tyre smoke it's not really the cars or handling I had issues with it was the AI. Grid 2's AI for me was much better but the career was nowhere near as good as what 1 is as I never completed 1 and was always a bit short for my liking. It was still good fun don't get me wrong I was just expecting something a bit bigger especially given how long it was between 1 and 2. Autosport sounds a lot better though as it seems to have a mix of what for me are the best bits of both 1 and 2 Grid 2's excellent graphics and Grid 1's career and handling structures that and the few new extra assists they've put in as well should allow me to play exactly the way I want.

yeah it does I've got to say looks like they've done a fantastic job with Yas Marina again looks awesome at night when watching F1 an it looks like they've recaptured that again for the Endurance love racing that track whoever put the Abu Dhabi track together deserves a pat on the back it looks awesome. I just hope my driving skills measure up would have had my team mate on the attack a bit moer in that vid but only because I'd have wanted a 1-2 :p
-
Yeah I agree I generaly play 4-4-2 on Fifa and FM games and generally I like to have a primary and a backup for every position so normally I'd have 2/3 goalkeepers 2 right backs and 2 left backs 4 central defenders 2 right midfield and 2 left midfield 4 central midfielders 4 strikers that way you're covered if you wish to change formation or go with something moer flexible also this way you're covered if your team suffers a few injuries. :)

That Kurt Wittenstein sounds a bit like me when I'm racing. :p

We're hoping tonight, but Valve time is a bit strange :) just like valve themselves eh? :p

What Classics Would You Want in the Game?
sjsharp2010 replied to davesny23's topic in General Discussion
I doubt that's even possible even on PC I'm pretty sure one can find most if not all F1 tracks on rFactor. not from every F1 season there's been I don't think because most of them probably don't exist any more or if they do they are in different guises now after all you are talking about including every track since 1950 when the sport started. I don't think it could be done or more importantly would be. -
