I'd say that the positive ones here are going on a gut feeling about this game, interesting, could we all be wrong ? For the first time in many years Purple is even being somewhat positive about it, could that be an indicator ? After the debacle of Grid 2 I think that maybe we are of the mind that, well, it couldn't be worse than that ? I think most of the questionable stuff is mostly multiplayer this time as I think from what I've seen and heard that the positivity is mostly coming out of the single player camp which is great for those of us who spend most of our time in the offline career mode of the game. I think though some people still do have question arks over the multi player part. As I don't make use of multiplayer features this doesn't bother me but the single player stuff does and to me at least from @Loore and @justbiglee's standpoint they've made the right noises that I wanted to hear in order to convince me to get the game I know it's their job to promote the companies work. But for me they've made the right convincing noises that makes me want to buy the product they're selling

yeah like you I'm a single player myself and for me it sounds good better than Grid 2 anyway and I do enjoy Grid 2 I've only really got 2 problems with Grid 2 and one's pretty minor and the other's a bit more major although both aren't that big a problem in general and don't stop me enjoying the game. The first is I found the AI a little too aggressive but only at times I know that being touring car type racing they tend to be more aggressive anyway but I just felt that in 1 or 2 places I think they took it a tad too far and that it needed toning down just a notch. I was able to compete with them so it's not a major problem the other issue is I felt the career mode was a little short and needed expanding on tbh. It would have been nice to have had a larger variety of events to keep us coming back for more. Grid 2 is still a good game though and I will probably go through it again at somestage. Career mode could have used more work though. It sounds like Autosport does have a more expansive career so maybe they've done something about this in the new game

What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS
sjsharp2010 replied to mateyapfc's topic in General Discussion
It was like that in 2012 and the earlier games but for some reason CM took that out Hm I played the hell out of 2012 but never experienced this. Are you sure? yeah they shift about depending on how successful you are in each of the teams you race for in your career they shift about in 2012 as well as in 2010 and 2011 but they took this out in the 2013 game for what I don't know but I certainly preferred it when it was in. For example in the career I'm doing right now on 2012 I started with Marrussia in year 1 in year 2 Marrussia were in and around mid table through most of the races and picking up the odd points finish -
I'm glad somebody owns up to the fact they suck sometimes :p maybe there's hope yet

Apparently PC is getting a DLC on launch with high detail textures, I'll assume they aren't cockpit related but it would be nice... I think @loore said they had something to do with reflections or something on the textures can't be 100% certain though maybe @justbiglee could shed some light on the subject if he's around but can't be too sure

Isn't that why we still have Dickensian sweat shops around the world, people only wanting the product and taking no responsibility for the circumstances of it's production. I tend to reflect somewhat on the human condition involved, after all, we are dealing with fellow human beings with all their fallibilities, just like we have to deal with our own. You'd be amazed at what I have received from different companies by treating them with respect and a kind word when the product I bought from them was faulty . .the mighty Amazon not only showed unexpected generosity but also a letter from the management expressing thanks that someone acknowledged their efforts, saying that such sentiments are genuinely appreciated by the staff. But if you have put your order in, and I remember you weren't so keen with Grid 2, then you also have detected some merit . . . and there is definitely something about this game which we can't quite put our finger on ? Maybe it's the intuition at work . . . Crazy as it may sound, part of my reason for my buying the game is in sending a vote of support for the company, this is also why I said if the game fails there will be no criticism from me. A lot of water has passed under the bridge over the last 6 years and for the first time I think we have made headway with CM. Small steps, you know the meaning of that . . . Ido think CM| aer learning from their mistakes but the problem these days in business and especially in the sports world is that people want results and are not interested in excuses that's why football clubs are always changing their managers and don't care if they have to sack someone to get the results they want. Obviously it's not quite the same in business but after what happened with Grid 2 and F1 2013 I think they must have ben concerned given the changes they have made and decisions with Grid Autosport let's just hope that they pay off for them. Based on what I've heard I think they will but only time unfortunately can answer that for certain
-
yeag it would be good but I can't see that happening right away because of the time it takes to transition everything over and program the new rules and such and we all know the F|1 games are made to deadlines maybe once the new systems aer in place then maybe they may consider adding this kind of thing but I just don't see it happening this time around though

Wishlist for GRID: Autosport/What cars/tracks do you want to see in Autosport?
sjsharp2010 replied to RevolverOcelot's topic in General Discussion
Riverside's a tough cookie, and I know that with the short development time Pocono is even a stretch, but my wishes don't necessarily have to be realistic. Honestly, the only facepalm moment I'll have is if the Indy Car is in without Indianapolis. COTA would be a VERY pleasant bonus, and I've been yapping about it since they opened the circuit two years ago, mostly due to fan provincialism, but also because it's a complex racetrack and loads of fun to play on in the F1 games (game? 2012 was the last one to get a physical release in North America). Having just checked @Loore's twitter feed, I don't find it strange that he went through Dallas (DFW is major air traffic hub). If he was here to see some racetracks there are only a few major permanent facilities in Texas he'd have visited: Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas (right next to Dallas, the track is just north of the metropolitan area). Hosts IRL/USAC Indy Car racing (Dallara DW12) and all three of NASCAR's national series. The track is a 1.5 mile tri-oval. There aren't any other layouts used by major competion.Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas. This would have been a 2 hour drive from Dallas, not accounting for traffic. There's an airport in Austin, but it'd have been cheaper to fly him into Dallas and use a car. Used for F1, American Le Mans Series, and a V8 Supercars race in 2012. A road course with multiple layouts. He mentions a lot of screaming about a basketball game on May 14th, this was the day of Game 5 between San Antonio and Portland in the NBA playoffs. Austin doesn't have an NBA team, but San Antonio is about 80 miles south of Austin. Circuit of the Americas will also be the site of the X-Games in a few weeks time, with parts of the circuit being used in the Rallycross course. Texas World Speedway in College Station, Texas. This is a 2.0 mile oval with 3 or 4 road course layouts. It's just west of Houston, and it'd have been cheaper to fly there than take the 4 and a half hour trip by car (maybe). It hasn't been used by any major series for competition since the early 1980s, and is currently only used for club racing and testing by teams in IRL and NASCAR due to the similarity in the Ovals shape and length to tracks in Fontana, California and Brooklyn, Michigan. well I haven't checked @Loore's twitter feed as I don't follow him but I do know that they don't usually use ovals in the Grid games (having played both 1 and 2) generally unless it's a half oval half track type race track like like the F1 Indy track was they have done that and I do know from @justbiglee that he said he had gone to Texas which immediately made me think COTA because COTA is already in CM's games as part of the F1 series as it's in both F1 2012 and F1 2013 I should know as I raced on it earlier today on those games and won and I know that other forms of motorsport use it as well so I though t maybe they're looking at adding it to Autosport as a possible venue. -
yeah that too he was a half decent driver I though t maybe not quite championship winning but a decent driver that ended up being unlucky at times
-
that's my case too Frank
-
yeah either way we know it's in so it's all good :D
-
wouldn't say Montoya as I think Montoya was a bit moer patient whereas Maldonado is a bit all over the place al,most as if he's forgotten where the brake pedal is
-
probably but let's wait and see what features are in the game first I think before we might start speculating how they might work

What does Colin McRae Rally / DiRT mean to you?
sjsharp2010 replied to justbiglee's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Simple for me too really I'm just a general motorsport fan that liked the idea of a good rallying game. I have watched some rallying on TV but I'm not as familiar with that as I am other racing disciplines My favourite discipline of course is F1 as I pretty much watch that every weekend it's on.(Exce4pt when something ilke a World cup is on or something then I may miss the odd race and just watch the highlights.) I don't often watch practice but I always watch/record every qualifying/race session as the early morning ones at the start and the end of a season as they tend to be at weird times for me so tend to record those ones to watch later in the day. -
I hear the Canadian version is really polite and apologetic... Mine's a little on the sarcastic side. sounds a bit like me then :p
-
he probably would actually surprised the people who sponsor him haven't tried to get him into that sport I coiuld see him going that way eventually though the sooner the better if you ask me. :p
-
Who on earth rates Maldonado highly? :L I ndeed the only cars I think he could drive well is a bumper cars and that's only because they're designed for crashing :p
-
nice one
-
I guess you'll be playing in the tuner discipline then :D there is time attack modes I believe within the tuner discipline on this game if what I've heard is to be believed anyway
-
that depends on a variety of things though I think. is F1 2014 a next gen title? I suspect it will be although nothing has been confirmed yet if so they will most likely be building a new engine for it which takes time. They've also got to take into consideration the new cars and rules that have been implemented into F1 this year and figure out the best way to incorporate this into the games I somehow doubt there will be any classic stuff this time around especially after the reception it got on the old forums I wouldn't totally give up hope that we might see something but it's highly unlikely. Hopefully once Grid Autosoport is out of the way we will start hearing details on F1 2014

I want to be reassure about the cockpit cam.
sjsharp2010 replied to Tr3voRR's topic in General Discussion
exactly you can only have one or the other reallybesieds the graphics engine they do use is hardly a bad engine it just doesn't seem to support both very well once they move onto the next gen systems that may change Are you guys freaking serious ? what kind of sorry excuse are you making up ? Grid 1 is much older and it had good cockpit ! Forza got 700 cars all with unique cockpit, forza horizon a open world with over 200 cars have got unique cockpit. What's the matter with you guys... do you just accept any shit given to you ? you never expect the most possible !? Shift 1 and 2 had amazing cockpits (bad driving, but great graphics) and Grand Turismo, etc etc all on X360 and PS3. So please stop with your sorry ass excuse of 9year old hardware blabla Those games use different engines though -

given where @Loore has supposedly gone we could end up seeing COTA in Grid Autosport and given Indianapolis was in Grid 2 we could see those tracks not too sure about the others though -
