    The Game Thread!

yeah I managed to get all 3 games on Steam for £50 which I thought was a good deal considering how popular it is and how big the world looks as well. Includes all the DLC's for 1 and 2 as well. If it plays as good as ME or more importantly Dragon Age (which looks likely) then I would say for me it'll turn out to be money well spent.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

In F1 championship Edition there was: Podium Celebrations in career (select someone who looked like you), Formation laps, Race car evolution (Ai engineer actually helped you to set up the car by doing laps in the Friday practices), Commentary (James Allen and Martin Brundle they even talked about AI battles!), Interactive pitstops (pressing controller buttons as quickly as possible) All this was in Career Mode and on the PS3 in 2007! And you could even choose how to get to the top, go to a slower team as first or second driver and impress with good results. Or go earlyer to a big team as a test driver and try to get a racing seat there with impress in the tests. I loved everything about that game apart from pressing buttons on the pit, that is the teams jobs and not driver in my opinion.. But yeah, I just don't understand why a game from 2007 on the PS3(it was even there first game on PS3) is still the F1 game with the most features.  yeah if they'd  ditched the interactive pit stops it would have been better as it's not the drivers job to worry about changing tyres or refuelling it's the teams. The drivre's only responsible for getting the car round the track in one piece. Everything else about F1 CE was just about perfect for what it was. I've still got the game and it's thoroughly enjoyable.

Oh one of those types of decisions is it? Save one leave the other to the wolves :p Nope not at all, nothing like that. The truth is everyone's story will be different so I'm not sure how I've said any spoilers. He only has to choose a few different options and/or quests and his story will be different anyway. One part comes early ish in the game, so he might've made certain decisions already but hasn't paid attention ;) Oh right I was just saying that as you do get a lot of moments like that in RPG's. Like for example in ME1 where you have to save either Ashley or Kaaiden and leave the other to die in the bomb blast. There's another similar decision in DAI whjere you have to choose between the Warden and Hawke to die in the Fade while you escape in both cases so far I chose Stroud to die as I didn't have Alistair/Loghain as the warden which is possible I chose to keep my Hawke alive. Just completed the Landsmeet and declared Alistair as king. Now to dispose of the Archdemon

It'll happen on December, won't it?  Yeah I think it's been moved to January/Feb time I heard on Sky sports a while back when conditions are at their coolest in that area of the world. It means all the domestic action is likely to get postponed for about a month and the football calendar that year will be in a bit of chaos but unfortunately we'll just have to put up with it I think.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

I very much doubt that. I'm guessing they didn't have time to implement it which is actually pretty absurd considering how shallow the Career mode has been for years.  Just look at the most popular F1 youtuber (Tiametmarduk) and his most frequent content - he's doing Career mode.  Agreed I'd probably say a good 80/90% play the career mode. As there are still a lot of areas that don't have great internet connections so rely on the singleplayer modes to keep things going and a lot of people prefer playing SP I happen to be one of them. I can't speak for everyone and I wouldn't but I'm pretty sure the use of career mode by people was pretty high. If I had to guess I would say it's likely time constraints played a role in their decision to leave it out but I can't say for certain. All I can do is decide whether I will buy the game and the answer to that right now is no.

that's what I meant (I cant see them stripping Russia of the WC Qatar maybe but not Russia but I doubt either are likely to be changed

Whilst I'd like that to happen I doubt that will. I think the WC's will stay where they are as they're all planned out now I think. But getting rid of Blatter will hopefully prevent stupid things like this from happening again though with any luck

I do get the feeling that he'll have to step down whether he wants to or not as he's losing support and fast none of the UEFA countries really support him any more except for maybe Russia and that's only because he let them have the WC. Especially as the sponsors are threatening to pull out if he doesn't go as well You may as well retire now Blatter if you have any credibility left in you although I have to admit it doesn't look like you have by your statements. I think our FA will consider pulling out if it becomes necessary but I don't know about other FA's.

    The Game Thread!

maybe they will eventually this is the first time the womens game has been in the fifa spotlight anyway so will be interesting. Would be weird to play using my school friend. People go on about women playing football and being sexist, but she ran rings around everyone and even men 4 years older than her. I'm really happy they are adding them, would be nice to add club teams in the future so you could do career mode. yeah I'd like to see that too I watched some of the womens football during the London Olympics and I was quite impressed by some of it. Karen Carney I think her name is kind of looked like a female David Beckham she was a very good free kick taker and a pretty decent crosser of the ball as well out on the wing. It's good to see women being included in games. I often create female players on my tennis and golf gasme4s as well so I can play on both the mens and womens tours. Apparently this years World Snooker championship nearly had a woman playing in it but she lost in the final round of qualifying so it goes to show women can be just as capable as men are if given the chance.

yeah but unless they get the chance to play though how can they shine that's the problem and show what they can do. There may be more to it but that's where for me the root of the problems are. They're not going to get the support they need if they can't get in their clubs first teams Good players generally get into the first team. There's good players coming through the leagues and through clubs own youth academies, but compared to Spain, Germany, France, etc, they're pretty average. Its such an easy excuse to blame foreign owners and players when there's clearly a huge problem with grassroots football. We need to start at the bottom to fix the problem. U11's playing on full sized pitches with full size goals, how is that productive or going to teach kids good technique? It just results in the bigger, stronger kids who can kick the ball harder being the focus of teams. English coaches are behind so many other countries, they just don't have a clue. The FA don't have the power, ability or guts to actually make any strong changes; its all just words. The Premier League is too rich and powerful. Basically, unless England get lucky we're not going to win a major tournament. We're hanging on to the top teams in world but we're never going to overtake them if we don't make drastic changes to coaching, grassroots and youth football in England. But yeah, its the fault of Johnny Foreigner that we're bad. I think the FA do have the power but I think the problem there is they're worried about breaking EU rules and such by limiting the amount of foreigners our clubs can have which is why action isn't being taken. Aside from Barcelona and Real Madrid for example I don't see too many names in the other clubs that don't sound Spanish to me so it seems to me that they support their own same with France's Ligue 1 and Germany's Bundesliga to be fair. Now I don't know about whether their respective FA's have limitations in their leagues but if we want to pick ourselves up and get competitive again I think it would only help right now to establish limitations thereby encouraging clubs to develop the talent that we do have more I'm not saying we shouldn't have any foreign talents playing in our league but it needs to be more restricted I think than it is if we're ever to challenge at international level again.

Hence what I said above in my last post. Unless the PL clubs help English players to flourish by giving them time in their first teams and helping them to improve instead of turning to foreigners all the time it's not going to help us. It's the foreign owners that are messing up our game as the only thing they're interested in is £ this sign or $ this sign if their American I don't like admitting it but it's true. They don't care diddly squat about our international game.

When did you decide not to care about England anymore out of interest?  They really do annoy me most of the time, but personally, I can't not like them.  Probably 3 or 4 years ago. I just stopped caring. Its been the same old stuff for the past 20 years, just not worth investing time in. Coverage on ITV obviously doesn't help, but the management and FA need a drastic change if anything good is to happen. Yeah you make a good point. I think since 1996 Euros or maybe 2002 WC, we've been poor...It annoys me that Hodgson is in charge for 2016. I get the feeling it will be yet another tournament wasted with a poor manager... I can see why people lose interest. We had a team with Cole, Ferdinand, Terry, Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes, Rooney and Owen and we won nothing...I just don't get it. If you'd given that team to Fergie, we'd have dominated...even Greece has won something recently...And we have nothing since 1966.  yeah since after Eriksson left we have been poor we did well under his reign though I think but certainly since the 2006 WC in Germany we have definitely struggled. TBH though I'm not suer we have the players now anyway even with a decent manager. I think it'll be a while till we get another group as good as that together to play for us. For that though I think the only solution is to stop all these foreign influences on our clubs as a lot of the PL clubs are all buying the talent they want/need from abroad now instead of helping players that are already here and developing them which would ultimately help the England team. But then that's what you're going to get if you let some oil tycoon run your club I suppose.

yeah in the Champion's League usually any of the English clubs. For me mostly Man U when it comes to that though as they're style of play (at least under Fergie) was very similar to ours they were just better overall at pulling it off than we were.

    Project CARS

LOL. Very true. The pit stop system needs work. Indeed, it doesn't deliver many things that we haven't already seen in other games, but it does combine many of the separate things we've seen scattered across different games into one package. That's one of the things I like most about the game as well. It6's kimnjd of like Grid Autosport except with  better graphics and a weather system that Grid doesn't have along with a pretty effective day/night transition as well which makes the game look and feel even moer spectacular. As I've done midnight races early evening races where the sun is low in the sky along with standard daylight races and it's all very spectacular and gorgeous looking. I never expected it to really contain anything brand new in it because as you said it's all been done once or twice before at some stage but this game has put it all together and not many people can say they've done or even attempted it before P cars, which for me is what works in P cars favour. Have they got it all working perfectly? No. But at least they're brave enough to give it a try and in time hopefully they will get things better.

yeah the Witcher games do look pretty good looking forward to playing them myself when I get around to it that is. Currently negotiating the nightmare known as Orzammar atm on DA Origins but will be happy once I get through it, as it's definitely one of the toughest sections in the game although I'm definitely finding combat a lot easier as a warrior than I thought I might. Even the boss fights aren't proving that tricky at the moment and they're much harder as a mage. It may be partly down to the fact I know how the game works better now though.

    Project CARS

Well I haven't had any problems in the historic races I've done but then I think it seems with PCars everybody's experiences seem to be wildly different around here. At least based on comments here and on the F1 section I have an even better one from earlier tonight. But I don't have time to upload it til atleast Friday. The way the cars react to side contact is absurd. And the AI runs into all the time, causing little bunny hops that send you straight on. Which inevitably leads to them running into you and and you flipping In some absurd fashion.  https://youtu.be/LMgMJ-TgIvE After having some more time to play it, I've actually quickly become fed up with this game. I went ahead and deleted it. I'll try again once it's been patched. I'm not saying it doesn't happen all I was saying is that that hasn't happened to me as yet
