Can F1 2015 be close to Project Cars

I think there will be many additions to project cars, but those touring cars look fabulous! - and with the addition of the tracks which are based here in the UK, I am certainly looking forward to that! ;) ...Funny hey..., here I am on the Official Codemasters F1 forum and most of us are talking about ProjectCARS...Sad but true :( I am always one for being honest and quite frankly, I sincerely hope CM realise just what they are doing; with minimal information and further questions being asked and not answered, doesn't bode well for this developer... Agreed looks like CM are on their last legs. Right now CM are struggling to get within DRS range of project cars much less getting to fight with it. I think it's fair to say P cars are leaving F1 2015 in the dust. I know I'm certainly looking forward to the racing experience P cars will  give me.

    The Game Thread!

yeah I was looking for something a bit different to play on my PS3 recently watched a couple of vids and thought it looked pretty good. So decided to pick up the 3 ff13 games all for about £10 each which I thought was pretty good value. Never played any of the Final Fantasy's before although I had heard of them. The storyline is pretty confusing but the graphics are pretty good considering it's on an old gen system. I don't think I'd buy all of the FF's but these 3 looked and sounded pretty good based on what info I saw. I've been quite enjoying the first one haven't played the other 2 yet.  I'm looking forward to trying 13-2 and Lightning returns eventually though. I will say though it's definitely got a very organic feel though in that all the animation looks very fluid. Also I'm not finding the battles too tough either atm which was one thing I was worried about given I don't play these types of games on console usually. Yeah it's definitely a good looking game, puts a lot of the current gen games to shame. The stories a brain twister, quite difficult to keep up with. (Though most FF's are like that!) Yeah the first few are probably a bit too old so they probably won't seem as good as they did back when they first came out. It's definitely worth a shot though, it does get a bit more challenging later on! Yeah I like the animations too, look a lot better than the majority of games out there, even newer ones. The battles do get tougher but once you find a party you like it doesn't get too difficult! Yeah the eidolon battles are tough but aside from that I'm not doing too badly

    Two things

First of all; CM could have added a career mode without broadcast style presentation. I personally don't care much about the broadcast presentation; I want to feel like I'm the driver, not a spectator. But like always, CM forces their ways through our throats. And things like podium sequences could have been made in a first person perspective, so CM wouldn't have to bother with creating a selection of faces for the player.  Agreed @Paulski2610 as all of the F1 games CM have done so far have had one as did the last Studio Liverpool game bF1 Championship edition and the FIA/FOM approved them so you can't say that the license doesn't allow for such things as  that is rubbish.

Can F1 2015 be close to Project Cars

Assuming I get it this will be the only way.
  7. sjsharp2010

Is there manual starts or not?

Not really any different from at least two of the last four games, though. I thought you could always just floor the gas pedal (from the looks on vids on YouTube) but since I have not bought an F1 game since 2011 I guess I know jack shit really! TBH it's pretty similar in all the games. Whether that changes on the new engine for 2015 I don't know we'll have to see.

Can F1 2015 be close to Project Cars

For me without a career mode I fear it'll struggle to match P Cars especially as all the broadcast style and everything else that the game does have would have to find some way to fill that gap. I'm not saying it can't happen but I'm not optimistic for it. I think P cars will have F1 2015 for breakfast. For me right now P cars is looking like my game of the year atm
  9. sjsharp2010

I have decided, that I hate DRS.

Agreed I think the teams would have thought all about this before DRS was brought in that's probably why they settled on the 1 sec gap between the cars. Personally I'm neutral as I don't mind it as I think it has helped the racing be a bit more open but I can see why people don't like it.

    Announcing F1 2015

Not at all. AI cars might now "use the breaks" when you are right in front of them (the AI on your slipstream). But the moment they get on your side, they're no longer aware of your current position. You're no longer detected. Nevertheless, It should be mentioned again that the number of cars in a race is in this game is insane (on PC), thus expecting very good AI does not compute, putting it softly On a side note, I must also say that all those who expect Project Cars to be the pinnacle of driving games when it comes to the physics and handling, might be setting themselves for utter dissapointment. All those of you who are looking for the perfect driving simulator should try Assetto Corsa immediately. PC no way is 100% simulation. Never It pretended to be though That sucks. And idc about it being a perfect sim, after all my favorite racing game of the past 10 years is Forza 4 Agreed I don't either as long as it's got fun interesting game modes in it. For the most part I'd have to say CM normally deliver in that area but on this occasion without career mode I'm certainly worried they're going to fall short this time.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

Sorry for being rude but that's a load of crap! In F1 2010 I did interviews with my "fake" name. In F1 2010 I even had a nickname. The engineer would call me by my nickname when he told me it was time to pit. And let's just say that you are right and it's because of the new commentary style. I still don't see any reason to ditch career. They could still have the career mode like a career mode is intended and have the new championship with commentary as a new added feature. If I look at previous F1 games from Codemasters it really doesn't add up that suddenly career mode isn't possible anymore because of the license. Actually there doesn't seem to be any reason to ditch the payer from the grid. Agreed as there still working based on the old license rules that hasn't changed yet. Having said that though it might for 2016 as I believe the license is up for renegotiation now after 2015.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

yeah exactly no career mode means that if you're not skilled with pro mode your stuck with just championship mode. For me that's not enough on it's own The quote about the Pro season mode said you'd be able to create the same thing using the options on the normal mode - the Pro mode just forces all these things on. So you could do all three practice sessions, play on the hardest setting, do full-length races, but not drive from cockpit cam for example, if you want. It's already been said that those sim options are only available via pro mode not that it would bother me as it's unlikely I'd have been using it and even if I should decide to get it at any point it's unlikely that I will because I 'm not skilled enough to play at that level and I already know that. Which as I said in my post is my post those of us that can't play at that level are stuck with Championship mode only whereas before we still had the option of using career if we so wished.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't F1CE have broadcast style presentation & career mode where you could name your own driver, pick a helmet, and even choose what he looked like?  Not suer you could choose how you looked but yes it did have a broadcast style presentation. I've still got that game for my PS3 but it's been a while since I've played it though.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

I agree to an extent, I have no problem playing as an existing driver. I love the sound of this Pro Season mode, and will have a go, but I know now I will struggle with all assist off. What is really frustrating is those of us not capable of driving all assist off will have to 'make do' with championship mode, we won't have all practice sessions and it will lack the immersion the community have been screaming for since F1 2012 yeah exactly no career mode means that if you're not skilled with pro mode your stuck with just championship mode. For me that's not enough on it's own Going by your previous comments regarding previous F1 games...i can take your judgement as being similar to my opinions. Meaning i'd prob get P-Cars if you praise its worthy of purchase. I hadn't seen anything on it until today and it looks promising :-) yeah I've seen plenty on P cvars and it looks pretty awesome to me as well and I'm looking forward to playing it It's certainly ticking off all the boxes for me which is not something I can say F1 2015 is doing. CM wil be lucky if I decide at some point to buy it in a Steam sale for like £10. But right now as things stand that is likely to be the only way I will likely buy it.

    The Game Thread!

That game is as confusing as the Matrix. Done a couple of playthroughs and still don't understand what was going on! They're still missing a lot from the PS1 era of FF's though I think. 7 and 8 are still near the top of my all time favourite games list despite how old they are. yeah I was looking for something a bit different to play on my PS3 recently watched a couple of vids and thought it looked pretty good. Announcing F1 2015

Judging by the reaction of many on the forum including myself I would be disappointed and amazed if a game that doesn't include an actual career mode is "the best racing game of all time". I can't see how a game that is based on a singular racing championship does not have a career mode, its not like people are asking Codies to have a career mode starting you in karting and then work your way up through the various formula championships. Agreed especially as most sports games come with career modes as standard even the Blade snooker games had one and they were an even smaller studio than CM. Not only that it was pretty decent licensed series as well the World Championship Snooker series. Unfortunately I think they've gone bankrupyt shrtly agfter making the 2011 game but all in all I thought it was a decent series and I still enjoy playing them and recently got new careers started on them. In fact many of the PS2 snooker one's were actually published by CM. One of the one's (I've been playing in fact is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pschPo6WGig World Championship snooker 2004 and of course snooker is not exactly the most popular sport in the world either so I think if snooker can have one then so should the F1 games as standard

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

Don't know why somebody lol'd me as I was being deadly serious Yeah and they've already got financial troubles as it is it's not going to do that problem any good they need to encourage people to buy there games if they truly want to be in with the big boys .Not hiding behind haslf made game attempts. Aside from F1 2010 and Grid Autosport I can't honestly say they've done that good a job in recent times. I thought things were looking up after that game but it's been same old same old since then.

    Project CARS

yeah I had sensible soccer as well my brother was quite good at that I struggled with it so I used to just stick with the manager mode. I heard Battlefrront doesn't have a single player campaign so not sure about that. I think if it had one I'd jump on it as graphically it's looking awesome. |For me though single player experiences are important as I only use those modes that's one of the main reasons why I'm thinking of holding out on F1 2015 as well. Striker was a good football game I used to play and like at the time got quite good at it too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZp35bEcScc But this was back in the day before anyone had ever heard of Fifa and PES though Have to admit I do sometimes miss playing some of those older games My old Amstrad that I had before the Amiga had cassettes 10 minute loading times  I'm just happy that these days we barely have to wait 10 seconds for a game to load at least once it's installed anyway. Back on topic though P cars is the only thing though that's immediately on my radar right now there may be 1 or 2 other sbut right now I don't think so. Will probably start with the open wheelers till I get used to the handling and do a few laps around tracks I'm familiar with until I get used to the feel of the game before I attempt to start really racing but I'm looking forward to it.

well if that is the case they can say goodbye to me as a customer too as I won't be back to buy it until it's reinstated or somebody else picks up the license.
