There shouldn't need to be a balance. Just give us a sim, and give the arcade drivers as many assists as they need to make it feel like an arcade game. One day, I'd love to find out how many people on here who expound about "just" having to do X in order to achieve Y have actually written and maintained any sizeable software code base :p Agreed I know it's not as easy as some people claim it to be during my computer courses at college I had to do some programming and it was pretty challenging just to make a working traffic light appear on the screen so I can only imagine how challenging it is to do this with a full game and get everything spot on. I managed it but it was no easy task.

Sure. Then tell me how games like RACE 07 from 2007, for example, have better and far more realistic handling? Those were build on even earlier engines. It was a decision from Codemasters to build a semi-arcade game and not because the game engine wasn't able to handle it. 2014 was unrealistic, too. Codemasters just coded the cars to generate extreme wheelspin. Tell me again, how often do your tyres lock up and do you spin when your rear tyres hit the grass? No. Do you get my point? To be fair I don't compare race 07 with CM's game and I don't think anybody else should either. I believe Race 07 is designed to be a full on sim at least it certainly feels that way to me as I do have that game even if I don't play it much. CM's games are not trying to be that. This is a simcade game series which means they're aiming to be somewhere in the middle between arcade and sim. So therefore being in a different setting entirely. Personally I think they've found a very good balance but that's not to say there isn't room for improvement as there certainly is. There shouldn't need to be a balance. Just give us a sim, and give the arcade drivers as many assists as they need to make it feel like an arcade game. Well it sounds like they're adding a sim type mode to 2015 anyway in the Pro mode or whatever it's called so I don't think it'll be a problem. Besides hopefu7lly we 'll get more info this week so we can understand things better. Besides all CM's racing games have been like that it's not just their F1 series as both Grid and Dirt share those same features too.

I agree when someone is going slower tha nyou and you don't like it get past them if you can that's what racing's about at least that's how I feel about it as I'd have sped up and tried to pass Lewis.

Well C|M will probably lose a lot of sales without one . I kinow that if there isn't a career/story then I won't be buying.

I wouldn't have called it a boring one but I would say it was average as unlike Australia there were somre battles going on up and down the field. Whereas in Aus there was nothing.

well it will feel that way for @hughesy :p he always has problems at Christmas time. Although I don't care too much for GTA myself I know what you're feeling like as I go through it myself with games I look forward to playing.

Voice interaction on PC version of F1 2015
sjsharp2010 replied to FFOman's topic in General Discussion
Hay? Voice control is already built into Windows 8, so no third party stuff is needed. Well not having Windows 8 I wouldn't know that. I can only work on info that I do know. -

maybe once win 10 comes out then things will shape up in that department. Windows 7 and 8 aren't really made for using that kind of tech. you can make it happen on those systems but only going through third parties which is no simple task. -

What Is The Probalbility Of DiRT 4 Relaesing This Year (2015)?
sjsharp2010 replied to DiRTKiNG808's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
I'd asy there's a good chance certainly a much better chance of seeing another Dirt than Grid this year considering they've said they're working on one although I wouldn't expect it to release much before the end of the year though with the various troubles CM have had. -
Have you actually played any other racing game/sim? I'm struggling to think of anything made in the last 10 years that is actually worse! Even Race 07 which is 8 years old had infinitely superior AI to F1 201x I know I have and I know there are definitely worse but then I'm not one for namedropping normally

nice joke they need to nail the actual racing, before adding modes. nailing the racing, getting online finally correct. then add career mode. what good is a career full of bad racing ? tbh I felt the racing was fine. Same here, As much as ppl complain about the AI in the game I think they are the best of any racing game ive ever played. Sure there are some huge flaws when racing them but AI in any game will have those, if ppl actually stopped dive bombing down the inside of them I think they would actually find they can have some good races. See it all the time on youtube ppl start last and are 10th by turn 2 lol! Whats the point in starting at the back and gaining 12 positions in 2 corners? Im not saying they shouldnt make them defend and attack more but least I can race with the AI in the cm games and have a challenge doing it, most racing games the hardest AI are a spec in the mirror after a lap unlike F1 2014 and Im not the quickest of drivers. Yeah quite often on 2010 I tend to lose a few places while getting up to speed. I do sometimes manage to hang on to my spot or gain 1 or 2 but it is rare that happens on the game and that's when I've had a good start as I'm often a little slow off the line. Obviously in the 2011 onwards when Kers and DRS were introduced I've often used Kers to help me off the line better therefore I'm more competitive off the start. I would say 2013 aside I find the AI good on all the games. The only reason why I say that as it's well documented that for some and I include myself in this found the AI too aggressive and too fast even on the supposedly slower levels.

Big fan of Andromeda too and also have started collecting the seasons. Yeah it's worked on by the asme people who worked on Star Trek especially the DS9 series. TNG is my favourite but DS9 was a very solid series as well. Based on the episodes I've watched of Andromeda it looks good but seeing as I don' t know the whole story as I hadn't watched the whole series. Recently bought the Halo Nightfall series as well as that was recently released on DVD. I intended to watch Nightfall as it looked pretty good but In the end I only really got as far as the second episode and then completely forgot all about it as I had finished with my initial MCC playthrough by then and moved onto something else. At least now I'll be able to see that too now.

Being a fan of Star Trek and having an eye on this for a while figured it was time to take the plunge and watch this. Watched the occasional episode on TV before but not the whole series

well everything in terms of general improvements of the game in terms of physics or graphics and other stuff has been shared across the board as far as I can see so as long as EA continue to do thinmgs in that vain I don't think that needs to change. Career mode maybe more or less is the same as it's been for a while I agree but last I heard they are working on that as I believe they plan on licensing more competitions and leagues just like they've done with the Premier league in Fifa 15. Whether they can actually deliver on this I don't know but that's what they intend Other than adding a bit more of a broadcast style to the game where they go into a studio at half time of a match or something as an idea I can't really see what else can be added to career as it pretty much has all the major stuff in it already.

EA taking over the F1 series could be bad, but the same could be said about PD. Taking into account what PD did to the GT games we could very well end up with a F1 game with no damage, no fuel/tire wear, a bare-bones online mode with no leaderboards, no matchmaking & no friend invite, bad AI, bad engine sounds, and a boring career mode that isn't fun or challenging and is designed to favor grinding rather than player skill. I wouldn't say oit would be bad if EA took over as EA I think do look after both single player and multi player levels for the most part. I do think though that EA have enough sports games on their books anyway with Fifa/NHL/NBA and PGA on their hands to look after.

I don't think so they wouldn't have announced it if everything hadn't finally gotten approved they just need to get feedback from us on it via this forum

yeah I suspect there will be too I think what with the Easter break and all they'd have used that time to decide what info needs handing out next. I'd have thought they'd have used that time to eat Easter eggs and be with their families :). Should think (hope) there will have been a clear path laid out internally, weeks/months ago. what I meant was they'd have been monitoring this forum to see how we responded to the initial info reveal to find out what where are concerns lie especially where it came to things like lack of career mode that sort of thing.
