    Anyone else despise Monaco?

I have played other racing games such as Assetto Corsa. Suzuka's just not the kind of track that suits my driving.

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

Yeah I think it helps that Singapore at least has some straights on it which is something Monaco doesn't have.

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

Yeah it's just a bit too narrow for my liking I find it hard to overtake there. It's mostly the first sector really though the Esses I just can't seem to get a rhythm there no matter how hard I try. But then Suzuka hs always been a track I struggle with but like with Monjaco I'm just happy after I've finished it that I don't have to worry about it again till the next season. I'm pretty handy around Austin though especially around the DRS sections though I do struggle a little bit with the Maggots/Beckets sequence they copied from Silverstone. I think it's more anything that requires a quick change of direction tends to throw me a bit.

For me I prefer Singapore at least there are places to overtake there. Though like Spain and Monaco Singapore and Japan I don't enjoy as much but I have to admit I prefer Singapore and Japan over Spain and Monaco.

AI in the wet - all circuits

Yeah I think originally they were too slow in the wet but now they're probably in general a tad too fast just did a wet Baku race and they kind of left me for dead. I don't think I necessarily hadthe best setup for the race but I just couldn't keep up with them.

    The Game Thread!

Just started my career on 2019 but I'm only at Australia but it's been interesting so far I joined Toro Rosso Butler's gone to Renault and Weber ended up at Alfa Romeo after I completed the F2 bit. Took a few attempts to do given the game chose to crash 3 times for some reason. I've only driven the first practice session so far but I' m hoping to get in and do some proper racing later now that I'm back in familiar territory I did enjoy the F2 bit though and I'm looking forward taking on Butler and Weber in F1.

    The Game Thread!

I know what you mean I've still got a few games in my backlog that I'm still yet to play. I'm hoping to get to one or 2 of them soon though but I want to get a career underway on F1 2019 first because with careers I kind of let myself drift in and out of them because they can take a while to finish so I kind of just do a season or 2 every now and then. I tend to do the same with Fifa as well but I plan to soon play Assassin's Creed Odyssey and the remake of Resident Evil 2 as I have those in my library but I also plan on playing Shadow of the TR again so I can play through the DLC's as I got the Croft Edition which gave me the season pass I just haven't got round to playing them. I've played the main game once but I thought I'd save the DLC's for a second run once they were all out and now they are I'd like to do them. I heard they were short but I thought the fact I'll be playing them together combined with the fact I'm quite a slow player anyway I don' think it will matter much. Plus with games I enjoy I tend to want to play more than once anyway and I have to admit I did enjoy my first run of Shadow. I am kind of intrigued by what kind of driver transfers I'll get though once I start on F1 2019

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

Yeah I think Verstappen has potential and he definitely has the speed but he's just too aggressive and impulsive atm. For me it's that that's letting him down and it's stopping him from reaching the potential that he has. If he can learn to control that aggression an donly use it when there is more of an opening instead of forcing a way through like a bully he'll definitely get a shot at being a champ in F1 but he needs to control it more and look at his rivals Lewis and Seb and what they did to become champions because neither Lewis or Seb are dirty drivers fighters yes but not dirty like I'll run you off the road aggression. Lewis and Seb are pretty clean in their moves for the most part even if Vettel does sometimes lose it now and then emotionally.

    Is Time Trial Redundant?

I only use time trial for a bit of practice sometimes as a kind of winter test mode where I just do a few laps in a car I plan on racing next in career mode. I don't care too much for bragging rights.

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

Yeah Schumi is definitely the target I think Lewis is aiming at and as you say he's pretty much wrapped it up already this year I think. Especially as he's having one of those seasons kind of like what Mansell had in 1992 when he won the championship where he was just unstoppable.

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

I don' tknow about that yes he died but I think even had he lived I doubt he'd have raced for much more than another 2 or 3 seasons at most tbh given he was more or less the same age as Prost/Mansell his main competition as he came in at the same time as them.

    The Game Thread!

I actually find them more aggressive after the patch as they were really bashing me around in Hungary but then that was in wet conditions so it might have been the improved wet pace just catching me out because in my first F2 championship they were really slow. Strange your suffering from stuttering as it's been running nice and smooth on my system and better than the last 2 games. I did suffer a lot of that on 2017 though although since I've switched from Windows 7 to 10 the stuttering seems to have gone.

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

Yeah it's the only way I can really cope with Monaco and get a semi decent result. As I tend to run the AI about 20% lower than I do at any of the other tracks. I can just about cope wi9th it but it's not easy.

    The Game Thread!

So has anyone had any weird transfers in their careers yet? I've not started mine yet but I'm looking forward to seeing how mine plays out.

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

I can barely tolerate doing 20 laps around the place don't think I'd have the patience to do the better part of 80 Yeah it's a track that rewards patience on these games. On most tracks you can create your own opportunities whereas at Monaco you really have to wait for them.

    Anyone else despise Monaco?

Yeah I don't like i ttha tmuch usually I just turn the AI down and just do my best really though I've just won the 2 races there in my F2 championship. I've always struggled there in Codies games but previous t otha I did OK. I do win occasionally there but njot often enough to really boast about. But for me it's the same at Suzuka I've always struggled at the more narrow twistier tracks.

    The Game Thread!

Yeah apparently it's getting released on PC soon.

    Career number 1

Not sure you can once you've started no as it' all part of the profile setup.
  19. sjsharp2010

    Career number 1

Yeah I saw that and that's what I meant if you say yes to that It should automatically appear on the car once you win the championship.

    The Stuff Thread

Yeah I think that's when I joined too when I heard about F1 2010. Got me really excited back then what with it being at the time one of the first F1 games for PC to come out for quite a while.
  21. sjsharp2010

    Career number 1

you should get it on your car automatically at the start of the next season.

    The Game Thread!

Must admit driving the F2 cars in intermediate conditions is a real challenge Codies did that very well. Very slippery especially considering they have less downforce and F2 doesn't have intermediate tyres As I had a wet race in Hungary and it was especially slippery around the longer corners

    The Game Thread!

Good idea I must admit I'm finding F2 a lot of fun on it. I'll probably start my 2019 career when I've finished my 2016 career I have on the go as I'll likely only be doing another season or 2 on that one as I'm running out of upgrades to purchase now on that career and generally I end my careers on that when I run out. At least they got it right with 2018/19 with the rule changes as that definitely keeps it fresh.
  24. sjsharp2010

    The Game Thread!

Yeah I've heard it's coming to PC I may consider getting it when it does
