You haven't lived until you've taken Eau Rouge backwards in the dark ;) (Just so we're on the same page, I was referring to Autosport. There's no insanity like that in F1!) Indeed pretty scary that is. :p I personally enjoyed the reversed tracks on the grid games so it was never a problem to me. Also it kind of is almost as good as adding a new track without I guess having to pay to license more tracks

I think this is the most likely scenario besides CM need the money given their financial troubles I suspect if F1 2015 doesn't do as well as they hope that could well be it for CM so they'll need some money out of this so giving it away for free would lead to them commiting financial suicide. I know some companies like EA do this but they can afford it. But I seriously doubt CM can right now. At least not until they've straightened out their books.

Except it probably won't be a career, just one season :) I think it's best we don't jump to conclusion until we have more info. I'd be surprised if they don't have some sort of story/career mode in another form . I admit it doesn't look good for those of us who like playing career/singleplayer modes but untl more info is released we shouldn't jump to conclusions

if you're still using 32bit then I8 guess you're out of luck because to use games that aer of the PS4 XB1 variety you are going to need 64

I suspect I will too assuming I choose to buy that is right now though I'm not sure

My god... how did I ever play this game?
sjsharp2010 replied to Tixylix's topic in General Discussion
that's because they've always said they want people of all skill levels to be able to pick up and play the games. Even Anthony Davidson said in an interview that some games are harder to drive than the real thing and it should be semi realistic but at the same time not overly difficult for people to play which I agree with. I think they do have things right for the most part but it sounds like what they should have done is what they are doing I think for 2015 and including a hardcore mode for those that prefer a more sim based experience and leave the old difficulty settings the way they were. Which is a mistake they made with 2013 that screwed the whole thing up for those that preferred the old system. So those that prefer the old simcade feel can still have it. I kinow I prefer the simcade feel so I'm pleased that they're keeping that in mind for 2015. As assuming I do get the game which is doubtful at the moment I'm unlikely going to be using the hardcore part. -
yea been suffering a little with insomnia of late myself that's why I'm thinking of going back to my sports games in particular motor racing as they do tire me out more than games like ME/DA
-
well hopefully we're clo0se now maybe this is the final build.
-
Yeah I read that as there is no career mode at all just single mode seasons with the Pro season mode just being a hardcore sim mode. I don't like the sound of that but I'll wait and see if they're going to share any more details. I need more than just fancy graphics and a new track to keep me occupied on it.
-
in fairness though the fact that ther eis a big question mark over career is not doing the game any favours as things stand though I'm not buying . My relationship withthis series will end with 2014 unless there is some big single player modes that are good enough to replace it. But without career mode it will take a lot of convincing for me to buy into it but I'm keeping an open mind and see what info they give us.
-
yeah it probably will for me as well tbh but I'm prepared to wait and see if it's under a different name or format before I confirm my decision though. After all they've only given a small amount of info to work on. We're going to have to wait ansd see what comes in the next few weeks before we know anything concrete.

What are the two extra players going to be driving? Last year's cars I'd guess :p

@Hughesy : I live in the US, not far from the Circuit of the Americas. I've assembled plenty of PCs from selected components, but mostly for work/business & home use. It's been many years since I built a PC for gaming. What's your opinion on the stability & reliability of Project CARS so far? I know it's pre-release & still evolving, but how solidly has the software performed so far in regards to things like lock-ups/freezes/crashes-to-desktop, graphical stuttering, file management/corruption, memory management, incompatibilities with hardware drivers & operating system processes, online security, exploits/cheats/hacks, etc.? ...In other words: have you seen any indications in the pre-release version of Project CARS that might be cause for concern about major issues/defects at launch? Well it's been a surprisingly stable game. I've used three different GPUs throughout development, 670, 780 and now 980. There have been a few crashes but very rare. I've really learnt that people are far too quick to blame games when there's a problem, just because another game works fine. Just a few days back I was having major problems, it would on use 60% of my GPU even without using Vsync. Once I deleted the game profile in the Nvidia driver it started working properly. I think it's working very well. Even maxed out at a really high res (2560x1440) and 30+ cars on track it doesn't use more than 2GB of Vram, which is amazing considering the graphics and texture quality. Obviously it uses the CPU heavily due to it being a sim (CPU is the brains, GPU is the muscle) so you'd want a good quadcore cpu atleast I'd say. Agreed but a good quadcore processor should be standard for most modern day games anyway so it shouldn't be to bad but you have the experience here with the game. I was just saying it sounds like that's the standard for most modern games atm.

Managed to finally get the Vinsomer earlier which leaves me with 4 more to slay

2015 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix

Unfortunately I seem to remember the Malaysian GP is always a bit of a borefest too! 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, they were all dull in my opinion. However, remember a load of us answered 20 questions before the season with some predictions? Well for question 18, the most entertaining race, I chose Malaysia! 18. What will be the most entertaining race of the year? Malaysia, cos why not Don't let me down Sepang! Well it can't be much worse than Austrtalia that was a borefest not too sure I'll be watching to many gp this year if they all start being like that tbh. If the Mercs lap most of the field again in Malaysia then i guess a lot of fans will start to turn away from the sport. tbh I wasn't analysing it from the fact the Mercs ran off and hid because to be honest I was kind of expecting that. I was referring to the rest of the field as there wasn't any challenges being laid down or any scraps really going on at all in that race. The only interesting fight going on really was the one between Button and Perez and that didn't last that long when they were fighting over last place. I think the race in Malaysia based on qualifying will be more interesting though given it is more mixed up thanks to the rain. Thankfully we don't get to many like that anyway besides I have a good feeling the race will be moer interesting than Aus. I think every sport has the odd stinker of an event where it's not as entertaining even football does. For now I'm just putting that race as one of them and hoping for something better in Swampa Lumpur :p -
Agreed I srtill play F1 2010 although I have all of them but that is probably the most satisfying of the games I do like 2012 as well though as I find I'm involved in a lot of good competitive races at my level there as well so I don't find that to bad even though that's when the mode started to fall apart. I'd like to think things will get back on track with 2015 but only time will tell. We have to wait and see what CM decide to share in terms of the game over the next 2/3 months before it comes out.
-
I think it says on the PC requirements page that it's win 10 compatible so I assume that it is. Whether it's able to use all of DX12's features or not is another matter though.
-
:# :D :D That's not entirely true, though. Undoubtedly a relativity new PC blows out of water both the XOne and PS4 but not everyone are using beastly PC, do they? Not to mention that both consoles seem to have a heaps of untapped potential as of yet. I think that because some companies are still trying to make their games work with the previous gen (PS3/360) once they stop doing this and start focusing on what the PS4/XB1 can do then we'll really see what the consoles capabilities are.

that's why for me it's a no go at the moment as well I want a good single player experience without a career mode of sorts this game is unlikely to give me that. Of course nothing has been confirmed yet career may just be a different format in this game or just not called career here until moer details are released it's best we just stay patient though. Same for me, I only play offline in the F1 games so something like a career mode is the main reason for myself buying the game but looking at Lee's posts in the thread it looks a lot more promising than before that there is something like this. Yeah it's starting to sound like career might be under a different name/format so it does give me hope they may have changed it a little bit. Until we have more info I'm not going to speculate. All I can asy is until we know one way or another that there is some form of career mode I'm staying on the no side of the fence. It's quite possible CM| have done a kind of Fifa and just changed the name and tweaked things and by that I mean they went from a basic career modeand called it manager mode and added Be a Pro mode aas well. It's quite possible that's the direction they've gone. I think it's unlikely as I'm not 100% suer that CM would have the resources to take things that far but it is possible. Besides I can still be persuaded given the circumstances as I always keep an open mind. After all I hadsimilar concerns as to whether I'd like Dragon Age Inquisition given how challenging I was finding the first 2 games initially therefore I only bought it on download now I'd say it's probably my favourite of the DA games, so plenty of things can change between now and when the game launches off the grid in June.
-
Man the Vinsomer dragon is TOUGH! Have to asy it's probably the toughest in the game I'm at the same level as it but still can't slay the beast. Set myself the target of slaying all 10 dragons and that one just won't go down. Will leave her for now and come back once I've dealt with the others. I know the other 4 left so they won't be a problem as I've slain them before in my first playthrough

yeah ('m still disappointed about the lack of career mod but then it could take another form within the game. We just don't know but I'm not assuming anything without more info. Right now the game's a no go for me but plenty can change between now and launch Until we see further info though I'm not making any decisions for certain though I'm just saying that for me based on the info we have right now my answer is "no deal"
-
Indeed I'm not worked up about it as the game's not out for a while yet. I admit I'd like moer info before I commit to ordering the game as I'm concerned about certain elements which I've mentioned in my earlier posts but they have time to reassure me and show us what their plans are with this
