I have no idea what's so difficult to understand in differentiating between confirmations and jumping to a conclusion based on limited information. You've literally taken one line (Which could have easily been used for all of the previous games as well) and concluded there's no career mode. I don't know, you don't know, none of us know if it's in until it's officially stated one way or the other. Instead of losing your rag at other users for telling you this- try and understand the difference between a confirmation and jumping to a conclusion and basing that as a fact. "Pick your team/driver to race" does not instantly equate to "No career mode." We could pick the team and driver to race in 2010-2014 as well. Lee has said above he can't talk about everything all in one go as there would be nothing to talk about. Perhaps there is a career mode that has lots of new features and that's being saved for talking about later. yeah that's what I'm hoping for perhaps they've not mentioned anything yet as they don't want to get our hopes up and later have them dashed given how long they've been working on this and it being a new game and a new start hopefully they can turn things around after all CM need to if they want to keep doing this. I admit I'm worried atm however that can soon change. As far as I'm concerned they still have time to change my mind as the game's not out for another 2/3 months yet. In the meantime though I know where I stand.

More infoand that is on it's way I think we just have to be patient and let them tease us for a little while :p
-
Yeah I think we need some definite clarification on this because unless I know more about the single player modes and in particular career mode right now I won't be buying as I need to know what I'm getting for my money. Especially as being on benefits and that I don't have a great deal of money to splash so quite often have to pick and choose where my spare cash goes. If I don't like what I hear then my focus is going to be elsewhere Like I said in my post further up try not to think of it as a sequel to F1 2014, this is all new and we'll have more news about all of that with the details of how you'll play Championship and Pro Season mode in the near future. We're looking forward to be able to talk more about it all soon but it's such a big part of the game we don't want to flood all our information out at once then have some of it get lost which is why we do it in stages. We'll be talking about game modes, the handling, the physics, online modes, we'll have videos, interviews and loads of other stuff between now and launch, I just ask that you all be patient for the time being. The great thing about doing it this way is I can tailor what we say next based on your feedback so far by focusing on the things that are most important to you and I've already shifted the plan around a bit. Hope you can understand that, we've got a good few weeks until launch and if I tell you guys everything today I'll have nothing to talk about in two weeks. Really glad we've had such a positive reaction so far too, and I'm happy you're all so stoked for the game! On behalf of the everyone here at Codies - Thanks guys :) Don't worry as I wouldn't judge it based on the previous games same as I've not really judged any game based on it's predecessors and I will wait for you to release more info on it before making my decision. I'm just expressing my concern that single player modes aer being neglected a bit here what with the lack of career being mentioned here but as other s have said it may be just under a different name/format rather than being called career as in the earlier games. I can only judge on what info you and your colleagues give us, that's all what my comments were based on. I know you're not showing all your cards yet and I'll obviously keep an eye on the info you deliver as for better or worse I have enjoyed the F1 series so far for the most part so I may still be persuaded. But I will wait for moer info before I reconsider. I was just saying that I am a bit concerned about the info I had seen based on career as I spend about 90% of my time in the game in that mode the other 10% doing sprint mode races in gp mode. I don't play online so couldn't really care less about that although I do understand others do so fair enough there. I was just saying as a sp only guy it didn't sound good.

1. Lee is a Codemasters employee. 2. Everything he says about the game is official. 3. He said that you CAN'T USE YOUR OWN NAME in F1 2015, you PICK A DRIVER TO RACE AS. 4. You can't use your own name and create your own driver -> no career mode. Creating your own driver is pretty much the definition of career mode. Codemasters: "F1 2015 won't have online mode." Delusional fans: "NO ONE HAS CONFIRMED THERE WON'T BE MULTIPLAYER" Topkek. 1 right we all know who Lee is. 2 wrong... take time to go back and read his posts. He clearly made a warning about whats official and whats not. 3 That explains nothing... it does not mean in any way shape or form that career mode has been suddenly taken out just because you can't add your own name. The option to play as a driver and not as your own name only means you will be able to only play as official drivers of the F1 grid. IE: You enter the mode as Jenson and you stay as Jenson. Dosen't mean things can't change between now and actual release though He's only telling us how things are at the moment. Although I agree it's unlikely too it can happen. I think it pretty much does mean that career mode has been scrapped though given that does seem to be the main point of career mode in the games was to create and compete as an F1 driver.

F1 2015, can we use 2014 cars in career?
sjsharp2010 replied to Encarnia's topic in General Discussion
At the moment it doesn't look like it's got career mode sothat question is irrelevant if this is the case. Big mistake in my opinion but it's their mistake to make. -
Because if you cant use your own name offline (see the post above yours) then it confirms that there wont be a career. Okay so you believe someone with no actual proof? @justbiglee said dont believe anything unless its in the announcement or another cm person said so. Lee said it himself a couple of pages back. http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/comment/74578/#Comment_74578 Your tears of denial taste sweet. Does seem like that is the case :( That will make me sad. If its true hopefully it's something they work on for 2016. The idea of no career mode, makes me want to just wait for 2016 and see what happens. I feel the same. I just can't believe a game that is supposed to be, and has to be for the companies sake, the best game they've made is not going to have the most basic mode in any game. Career mode. Like what was actually going on in their mind to come to that conclusion? Career mode has more potential than any other area of the game (aside from online, which desperately needs and overhaul too), there is loads that they could do with it if they get the right licensing etc. But no. Just remove it. Thanks. I'm sure the game will be a big improvement over 2014, and everything else I've seen/heard sounds good. But no career mode in F1 2015 just kills it for me. Yeah agree unless I find it in a bargain bin for £10 or something it's unlikely I'll be buying it without career mode. It's nice to have all the new graphics and all but I'd trade that for career mode back tbh. So unless that decision is reversed I'll stick with 2014 and the other games which albeit a bit of a basic career mode at least it has one. I'll continue to watch just in case they choose to reverse the decision but in the case it isn't reversed it's likely to have cost them a sale at least from my point of view

Same here pretty much all the excitement I had for the game yesterday went out the window with that omission so unless that decision gets reversed it's unlikely I'll be adding 2015 to my collection. As I see that as a huge step backwards
-
As would I tbh I think even if they left it as it was it would have been better than just taking it out besides it's the only area in the game I realty put my time in on it given I play single player the excitement I had for it when I heard about the game has pretty much been taken away again by that. So unless I hear there is still a career mode in the game I'm not buying.

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY IN MAY!!!...WOW! So Codemasters, @justbiglee, that's 3 birthdays confirmed in May...Any chance of a present...? ;-) Mine is at the end of May! There's loads of us! Us may babies are the best. Mines on May 29th to be precise. Got you beat by a day, 28th :smirk: Well..., I'll beat you all as mine is on the 8th! ;) mine's the 10th so not by much

In F1 2015 you pick which driver / team you want to race for and compete as them. So Career mode has been cut basically? Replaced by putting more emphasis on season challenge/ quick race style options? I'm concerned by that. It was where i put the bulk of my hours in previous titles. Completely agree. I know we know very little about the game but career mode being axed already makes me unlikely to get the game regardless of what else is in If thawt's true then it's going to make me rethink getting the game too.

Don't think they listed all the enhancements did they? I think the engine overhaul was to help the Ai too, could be wrong though. But yeah, this looks like it could be a very good game, hopefully they can pull it all off and quieten down the people that hurled abuse at them yeah Cm could use a lucky break right about now they've taken a lot of abuse the last couple of years. Whilst some of it is deserved a lot of it isn't though. Idid think they've come a long way towards trying to patch things up though by giving us Autosport which is a damn good game considering how quickly they made it after Grid 2 and although 2014 did lack in number of features. I think it's a much better game overall than 2013. I enjoy the classics but the main game was pretty awful. Cars awkward to drive and the AI didn't make things much better either had to resort to downloading a grip mod to make the game playable it works but I would rather not had to do it. Have to say though the idea that career mode has been ditched isn't good. Not sure I'd bother without career mode
-
me too besides I tend to rely on the infowould be goo the hud gives me anyway rather than the engineer. Would be a good to have a better indication as to what's happening with the weather in the game aside from that I'm not that bothered with the engineer.
-
Well at least the F1 announcement has done one thing for this forum it's livened it up :p
-
yeah I've already preordered it myself as Amazon have had it listed on their site for a while have to admit though watching these vids and the news on F1 2015 today is definitely giving me a driving itch. Not that I didn't already have one as I was planning on a bit of motor racing once I'm done with Dragon Age.

When will Code"masters" patch F1 2012, F1 2013 and F1 2014?
sjsharp2010 replied to Clarion's topic in General Discussion
Well, they charge for full price all the same. As buyers, we should get a polished version or support instead of old game re-skinned. it's kind of what you get with yearly release games anyway even Fifa does this for the most part you only see big differences when newer more powerful consoles are introduced as is the case now. IIt's only because of the recent upheaval at CM and the fact it's a small company has meant it's taken them longer to catch up. -
Yeah will be nice to hear something about career mode as well
-
Yeah have to say I'm excited already I like the look of the game and what Lee has said. The only thing that concerns me in terms of being a single player guy is no real details on career mode which would be nice to have. I know I'd like to see some details on it if there is any.
-
Singapore at night in the rain is soooooo beautiful it's my go to track whenever I'm showing somebody the game :D well CM have always made night racing look pretty impressive anyway so I wasn't that worried the previous games are an excellent indication of that as were the Grid games 2 and Autosport.
-
I would imagine they may have a career mode option for each season as I'm not 100% sure they would be allowed to do it any other way. I agree that we need to see some details on how career mode will be in f1 2015 assuming there is one in the game given there was no mention of said mode in @justbiglee's post. Still it's good to know we finally have something to work on in terms of an announcement it's all about seeing what we can find out about this new game and what the plans are for it.
-
Yeah everything's looking pretty good even the shadows of the Grandstand on the mexico screenshot looks impressive to me.
-
looks like you've really stepped in it now @justbiglee :p good news nonetheless though. Any details on what career mode is like that you can share with us yet? As that's my most important mode given that's where I sink my time in when playing.
-
probably the best race you've done so far 5th place as well not a bad place to end up with
-
yeah I'm 37 in ,may and like you I've been gaming all my life as well in fact I pretty much play games every day really all day too seeing as I don't have a job although it is difficult for me with my disability and such.
-
Agreed shame about that spin on the last lap but aside from that it was a good race as he pretty much had the other drivers in his pocket Awesome save on the last corner of the last lap Yeah it was
