OctoberDusk06 said:From the lack of popularity of GRID2 and massive popularity of games such as Forza (hate to admit it) F1, Grand Tourismo, and any PC game, I would assume people want to the racing "experience" and setups are a big a part of that as, say, maps are to Battlefield. Otherwise, just go get a copy of Mario Kart.yeah but Grid is more about the different styles of racing you can do though I think at least that's what attracts me to it plus it doesn't take itself too seriously as well which I consider to be a very good thing. I've played a number of sims over the years and some of them can be very hard indeed.
I like a sim feel but I don't like games where every car has got past me by the time I'm over the line to start my first lap which in some of the games they can be like. I like AI that challenges me but at the pace I go at. Plus game makers do need to bear in mind that not everybody knows how to setup a car for racing I struggle a bit with this myself as I generally pick one of the default ones in the F1 games. I just pick based on what track I'm on and what the weather is doing.
I think the fact that Grid 2's main problem for me was that is was to much arcade and not enough sim was it's problem not so much whether you could play around with setups. Plus the career mode was too short and it looks like to me that Grid Autosport in that regard has answered both those questions with a positive answer and ticked both boxes. This is only based on the things I've seen thus far though and feedback given.

yeah these vids aer on the vid thread I set up and that's kind of what convic3ed me too that and the open wheel vids they've done as well -

fIsince08 said:Already pre ordered GRID AS and I quite fancy FIFA this year.yeah I've preordered Grid Autosport too the more I see of it the more I like I'm liking that it seems that CM have put a lot of effort into the career mode this time around. I just hope the F1 team have been taking notes because they're in danger of getting left behind unless we see some improvement in that game too especially given the number of driving games coming out at the end of the year this year. F1 2014 needs to show improvements on it's predecessors and fast. Otherwise just as Mercedes have done with the rest of the F1 field they'll be left behind in the tyre smoke

I think most of us have twitter accounts yes but I usually like to keep mine for following people I'm interested in -

if this is Autosport question then really it should be in the Grid section this is the F1 section basically the best way to start any race is basically try to hit the right amount of revs and try your best to anticipate when the lights go out or green light comes on but I think Autosport has a countdown timer to it's races though so that should make it easier. -

yeah I'm just glad 3 of my favourite tracks from F1 are in there in Hockenheim Abu Dhabi and Sepang love racing on all 3 of them and Sepang's looking great at night as well. Never driven any of these tracks at night with the exception of Abu Dhabi but racing them at night in the Endurance series definitely intrigues me. Have to be honest and say they've picked a good group of tracks even that Autosport raceway they designed looks good.CaptainJack said:
I'm a little disappointed that the punters haven't made more comments about the inclusion of Bathurst ? . . this one has been asked for, for years and is now in the game.sjsharp2010 said:
same here I'm mostly interested in the career mode really and the idea of working my way up through each discipline and taking part in the various different championships would be good to have like a mini Indy 500 too with the Indycars and Indianapolis in there. Would be surprised if there isn't a Indy 500 type race in the career mode somewhere anyway. Given both are part of the game at least.CaptainJack said:
Truth be told, I'm not that bothered which version as apart from one free car I use my own skins on the cars so don't need what is in the package . . .sjsharp2010 said:CaptainJack said:
I thought Loore might have jumped in to clarify this "Black" edition mystery . .sjsharp2010 said:
What do we do now Cap'n? :pCaptainJack said:
Heads Up . . . I pre-ordered at Game UK some weeks ago for £34.99 [Black Edition] and cancelled a couple of days ago. I see that the PC version is now £29.99.scottishwildcat said:Heads up: Game UK have just dropped the price of the Black Edition for Xbox 360 and PS3 by £5 to £34.99. Existing preorders will only be charged the cheaper price, of course.
Pre-ordered on Steam for £26.99 [£29.99 - £3 for owning Grid 2] . . .but will it be the "Black" edition ? . . thing is, the "Black" edition isn't available on Steam for pre-order ?
~:>
The pre-order at Game UK is the Black edition, the pre-order at Amazon seems to be a standard edition, the pre-order at Steam doesn't say, but also doesn't give the choice, Loore is giving Rastus a free copy because of his generosity in giving Miatakias a load of stuff to build a new gaming computer, but he only assumes it will be the Black edition . . . So what is the deal with Steam ???
~O)well @Loore is busy this week at E3 so at the moment so we can't really expect him to reply just yet. I've gone with the standard edition because things like they have in the Black edition are only useful if you play online really which I don't. I think there's enough content though in the standard edition anyway to keep me busy for ages as I'm really looking forward to working through the career mode on this game.
~O)
If it is anything like the one we have in Pcars it could be as popular as Spa . . .luvverly track . .

As for the new cups in the future, I know the answer to how the DLC works but I can't check if I'm allowed to tell you with @loore as he's in LA. I wouldn't want to jump the gun and mess up an announcement he had planned.RobertKNL said:I like it the way they are doing it now, with awesome imaginary teams like Ravenwest (their name and livery is just so awesome) and Team Kicker. I don't really care about the imaginary drivers though. Like everybody said, getting real licences is very expensive, so I like this solution.I'm wondering though, maybe that @justbiglee or @Loore can answer it, whether they will add new cups in future DLC. I'd think that the 'platform' of GAS is great for other sports/classes. Like a Formula S class with Formula One cars (the real F1 cars, you know with big V10/V12 engines that make a lot of noise, not the turbocharged vacuumcleaners they are driving today)As for the original posts point about having lots of licences for things like the BTCC, WTCC, Formula 3, DTM and whatever else I've missed off the list in one game is of course something we would love to do (how awesome would that game be??). The reality of it is that many of the sports promoters want a game to themselves, they don't want to share a pack with somebody they consider their competition. Its not the case with all of them and I'm not naming names but over time we're hoping that they'll come around to our way of thinking.

I think it would be interesting to know certainly but got to say the games looking great if the vids are anything to go by anyway certainly the Endurance night time races look excellent anywayjustbiglee said:
Not sure off the top of my head, I can find out if you want tomorrow though?Yellowpinkie said:@justbiglee - the preview build includes the hi res pack?Being totally honest even if it does that build is so old now it wouldn't matter, the games had so much more extra polish applied it since the preview build which must be pushing 2 months old now.

they already have the F21 series so they don't need to do that plus the indycars in the game are powered by similar engines to F1 as basically indycar is more or less an American version of F1 at least that's how I see it anywayRobertKNL said:I like it the way they are doing it now, with awesome imaginary teams like Ravenwest (their name and livery is just so awesome) and Team Kicker. yeah I remember him we had a debate going at one point as to the best way to sort out the difficulty settings on the F1 gamefIsince08 said:Anyone remember The Hooded Claw? Not sure if he was the lithium forums though.

who's to say he's not watching it already :pPeteTheDuck said:Someone should send a tweet to Fernando Alonso with a link to this thread. Then he could take our advice and I believe we would solely be responsible for his 3rd world championship.

The F1 games aer different though as you have to prepare for the possibility of a change in weather as things like being sunny one minute and chucking it down the next can happen in those games and using the weather forecasts and you can plan accordingly. Autosport doesn't have a dynamic weather system so I don't think it'll be needed. Happened to me yesterday racing in Brazil unfortunately it cost me the race. I had planned for the wet weather as the game said 40% chance of rain but it didn't come till the second to last lap and I thought I could get to the end without it impacting me but I got it wrong still was a fun race though

yeah that he doesPeteTheDuck said:My personal favourite was 'Anne Neal and Mark Webber'. WTH?! And yeah, he posts pictures of Nelly Furtado in his posts which is a unique style!

P308R said:Why not simplify setups with quick-setup like in thé F1 games? You still would be able to "setup" the car like that. I am primarily a racer, not a tuner.settings aer there if you want them you don't have to use them they're more for getting the car comfortable with your driving style it won't necessarily improve your times I think that's what @Loore is saying here it's the upgrades that the team gives you that wil give you any boosr in performance if anything assuming they do that is as different teams have different options I think

yeah I remermber them too btw Nelly Furtado has been on these forums on the F1 srctionmike96 said:

I'd say the magazine ones must be the preview given it is essentially called a preview build thenjustbiglee said:
We've had 3 builds that people might be capturing from, Announce, Preview and Review (though they shouldn't be capturing from review because thats embargoed)Yellowpinkie said:justbiglee said:
Just to answer your question some of the earlier builds didn't while some of the newer ones do. Would be tough to say from for sure depends when they were creating the videos.Yellowpinkie said:Hi all

thanks for your reply. There's more than one build being previewed at the moment then? Do you know who's got the newest one?

While F1 2013 may not have been up to the standards set by it's predecessors. I wouldn't exactly call it a bug feat but I hope lessons have been learnt and 2014 sets a new higher standard for F1 gameshola said:And If next game to be revealed is Birmingham Studios new gen bug fest then..., we may not be hearing any news on "Dirt4" 'till January. yeah it looks good but I again I think it depends on the engine it's running on and what the developers see as their priority
