Workhorse9696 said:Nice video! Those youtube comments are depressing though. Quite amazing that people are saying the handling is the same as Grid 2 even though they aren't the ones controlling the car. That's the internet for ya!!yeah I did explain to them on one of the vids too that although it does share some elements with Grid 2 like graphics and cars and tracks but the graphics look like they've received a boost in performance the handling is not one of the items they share as it looks to me at least race wise it performs a little more like the F1 titles and by that I mean F1's 2010-2012 not 2013.except with touring cars and the other cool stuff CM have put in there and the handling characteristics associated with those vehicles

I assume you mean his 98 Ferrari Schumacher wasn't in F1 till 1991 but yeah the cars in 2013 are very twitchy that's one of the resaons why I'm not too fond of the game compared to it's predecessors I downloaded a grip mod to help me. I'm not a great driver and I normally play at Amateur pace. I normally set about 1min 50 I think in the dry. I'm at Valencia in my game at the moment. But when I next go to Spa I'll update this posrt with my times -
yeag I agree I think CM need to pull something special out of the bag for this series because at the moment unless it's a significant step up from 2013 I'll be giving it a miss. Grid has realised their mistakes and corrected them to my satisfaction at least I just hope F1 does the same.Cap10 said:Neely Furtado what.. Really that's awesome would love to go one on one.. I mean online racing btw ;)
Well Auto Grid is not my priority and it very disappointing that we haven't heard anything yet about F1 2014!
Hope it on nxt gen because if it just the same as f1 2013 with 2014 season upgrade not going to support this... unless there are significant new elements and features added and improvements that justify it.

Had a feeling you migh t say that we don't seem to agree on much do we :p -
I agree I think sometimes though Ai can be a little over the top at least I think so. Based on what I've seen I don't think that's the case with Autosports AI. NFS Shift games can be like that occasionally as could Grid 2's. F1 2013's AI I thought wsa over the top too. I certainly think based on what I've seen Autosport is a lot calmer so hopefully a lot better to race against.RTAnoskills said:It may have been just because he was in career mode. All im saying is that kind of behaviour online, is NOT clean racing. If you drive like that and consider yourself a clean racer.....your not. (Thats 95% of the Grid 2 xbox 360 online community)If people would just take the time to read up on racing etiquette they might learn that barging a car out of the way isnt clean. Neither is screaming up the inside of people on the racing line, just as they turn in, to apex the corner.

Platy said:I have hope that Assetto Corsa becomes a really good online racing game. There's a long way for it to go though but the actual driving/racing part is great.yeah it looks really nice doesn't it I recently bought it on Steam I'm not really a big sim fan but it looked really nice and I couldn't really resist.
Just completed Shift 1 I'm so proud of myself :D

never played Iracing or rfactor myself there are plenty of people who have on here I think. With CM's games they're more of a semi sim nature rather than full and by that I mean they put in a lot of assists and different levels of AI to cater for all types of players whether they be newcomers to motor racing or experienced racers again like a lot of people on this forum I'm not experienced at full sims but I do enjoy a good semi sim because although I'm a big racing fan I'm not a particularly quick driver in comparison as I quite often play on the bottom levels because quite honestly I'm not fast enough. -
I doubt it as they are 2 separate teams yes they both work under the CM label but they are different teams but then I just hope that team does a good job of freshening up the F1 games like the Grid team have done with Autosport because the Grid team have set the bar very high. Especially as the F1 game probably needs more of a freshen up than what Grid probably didAndi said:Does make me wonder if F1 2014 is going to suffer because of this since they basically flat out refuse to talk anything about that game aside from the fact it is happening.
-
I could be wrong and I probably am but I always thought CM took the sound from the cars they're modelled on or if they can't gain access to the cars themselves then they take sound samples from elsewhere -
TBH not a big fan of the track racing it on Shift but it's not in Autosport at least not as one of the main tracks it may be added later as DLC but right now I wouldn't count on it -
I generally use the default setups as well I don't like playing around too much with settings plus racing AI generally you don't need to I don't think -
Open wheel and touring cars both have races that last up to 5 laps you can choose to have 3,4 or 5 laps anyway Endurance races have a maximum time of 40 minutes all 3 disciplines have practice and qualifying though. Each stage of the career mode does have multiple races in them though so you have say a couple of races at Brands Hatch then another couple of races at another venue like Yas Marina. It looks like that career mode is structured in a similar way to the Shift games but it's supposed to work in a similar way to the original Grid game as near as I can tell from vids and things I've seen.
I assume you're reffering to Grid Autosport right?

you get al the cool jobs and let @justbiglee carry the can wonder how he feels about thisLoore said:Just a heads up but Autosport will be at E3 next week. Ill be there with it and as a side effect I'll be slightly out of action and there may be delays in getting back to you.
Have no fear though as @justbiglee and @Hatta will be stopping by and helping out around these parts.
Regular service will be resumed in a week's time :)

Yeah I'm pretty impressed with the turnaround CM has done here too maybe from the likes of EA given their resources it could happen but for CM to turn things around this quick is very impressive and they deserve a huge amount of credit with what they've tried to do especially with the quality of the game too as it looks like a very high standard all things considered. I just hope it plays as well as it looks based on the feedback we've got on the press release video's of the game my guess is that it does. Only time can tell thoughRubyRuby said:Yeah, well I'm impressed with what Codies seem to be putting out in just 13 months. Not to say that I think it's all good.

RubyRuby said:Hey, sjsharp. Surely you don't play GRID at the default settings? Seems close to impossible to me on a keyboard. I play at Savage with Traction Control on, usually. Played quite a bit at the middle setting (forgot what it's called) before I found my sweet spot. Maybe it's just the difference between game pad and KB.
FrankGrid 2 I did but then that's an entirely different game I do use the default settings on the F1 games as well though as well I don't really remember the settings I used for Grid 1 but then I never progressed very far with it it's probably just a case of going ion and given it another go but at the moment my Grid 1 isn't working anyway keeps freezing up on the loading screen not sure exactly why but I guess that's another problem to solve. Given Autosport is going to be released and I'm practicing on Shift and F1 at the moment I'll stick with them for now then come back and give Grid 1 another crack assuming I can get the game itself to work.
Just out of curiosity @RubyRuby what settings did you use for Grid 1?
-
I would say yes I'm pretty happy playing at the default settings (on most games) and just changing the controls to buttons Ilike to use but I recognise that some things do need adjusting from time to time -
I quite enjoy the X men films got the first 3 on DVD in fact I think I've got the Wolverine film as well haven't had a chance to get around to watching it though.RevolvingPrawn said:Edge of Tomorrow and X-Men Days of Future Past.Edge of Tomorrow was actually pretty badass. Really enjoyed it, and even though Tom Cruise was the usual Tom Cruise, the action and story was good enough to keep your interest. The best part though, my friend going to the toilet and then falling over on the steps when walking back in. I choked and cried from laughing :pDays of Future Past didn't do quite so much for me. It was ok, definitely watchable, but it just didn't pull me in. But none of the X-Men films really have if I'm honest.

in agreemenrt with you there this game is definitely looking better and better all the timePeteTheDuck said:The list looks good. I think it is a really good decision to include more actual race circuits. This is what was missing from GRID 2 and what made the ToCA games so enjoyable for me. And the tracks look great too, with some great locations. Thumbs up from me! \:D/

Here's another vid from Sim racimng this time driving the Open wheelers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbKmjYEyBH0 -
In the early races I don't think so because it looks like certainly in the inside sim racing vids the option to change things is pretty limited possibly later on once you move up into the bigger teams and higher tiers within each discipline it probably will become more important. But I think the first season or 2 in each discipline will be simply get in the car and drive type races. -
just secured my second career win at Monaco on F1 2012 I think there's hope for me yet :p -
not necessarily if it's just added in as an extra practice track or something just needs to be programmed right so it doesn't segregate everything like the Grid 2/ F1 2013 stuff didMTonly said:
I agree that it's better to have tracks available in both online and offline modes.RubyRuby said:I was sort of with you until that last part. I agree about G2 tracks (I'm more interested in more tracks than in more cars), but putting out a track or car expansion pack for multiplay but not single play would be a big mistake - like putting out an expansion pack for a platform or two but not all platforms supported in the original release. Which Codies did in GRID (08) and royally pissed off a lot of fans. That's one of the old major issues that this team should take to heart. Don't release any DLCs or expansion packs until they are ready for all platforms and both types of connections - in other words, if you're going to raise the tide make sure it floats ALL the boats.
My point is that it's better to have all GRID2 tracks at least in Autosport's multiplayer than do not have them in the game at all. Adding tracks to multiplayer may be much easier for developers since multiplayer tracks do not need to be integrated harmoniously and consistently into single-player's career while such single-player integration may need much efforts and these potential efforts may be the only reason for developers not to include all GRID2 tracks into Autosport (at least I don't see any other reasons why some GRID2 tracks are missing in Autosport).

Well guess I'm just less picky then :p
