I personally believe that 2013 is worth it because the handling model is much better and the game is just a bit more refined than previous versions. If you play on PC people have actually made mods that make the game like the 2014 season with liveries and driver changes etc.
the classic's are good but career mode sucks a bit though

  2. I think you're underestimating the casual player @RTAnoskills    There will always be rammers I'll grant you that but I think the average newbie does want to learn and get better though and IMO I think they should be given the chance otherwise yet again you will be left with just your friends to play with right?

CM have to find a balance here between catering for new players and the experienced alike it's not easy and I know I wouldn't like the job but it's the job they've got.

Sorry for sounding harsh but stop whining about flashbacks, if you dont want to race with flashbacks on just join/create a custom lobby without it. Simple as that. Flashbacks are nice for the newer players.
TBHv I agree unfortunatelt there seems to be a few on here that don't I think it's just a case of finding a compromise somewhere not suer how but that's for CM to figure out I guess

Is JEV's time at Toro Rosso up? I know he's been unlucky this season, but Kvyatt does seem the better driver and that is sort of the point of Toro Rosso. Da Costa there next season and Vergne to Sauber?
That's if Sauber even makes the grid next year.

Seriously, they're in the [watch your language please Mex - Lee]  at this juncture. Not only have they been passed by Marussia in the WCC, they're under threat from Caterham as well. Ericssons's 11th place equaled Sauber's best finish, so if they pick up another 12th place then Caterham will be ahead of Sauber on countback.

Given the team's financial state, this race has probably sealed their fate and signed their bankruptcy notice. Both Sutil and Gutierrez were in a position to score points and they screwed up big time.
would think they'll pick up points at some stage so I don't think they'll be behind Marrussia for long at least at the end of the season would expect they'll take their spot back ahead of them

Let turn this around, have just one playlist that has flashbacks available and have this playlist be a smorgasbord of the the different tracks and cars so the "new" player get expose to what GIRD A has to offer if newbie did not take the time to do career mode first to learn the tracks before going online?

Also GRID 1 online was very successful for 3 years before the online servers were turn off, with no flashback options. I don't see how having flashbacks would make online racing with GRID A stronger.

From what we saw with GRID 2, flashbacks hurt the health of the online community!  :(

I'm curious how flashback going to effect the damage to the cars. Codies say griefers will damage their cars and then will have to pay to repair them. Codies says this will discourage the griefers. But, if griefers get to use flashbacks, will that not fix the damage to their car? Then the griefers will not have to pay to fix their cars? So with flashback being use online, whats to stop the griefers from causing trouble?

I want to race in 10-12 PC player lobbys, On a Saturday, being a US player, odds are I will see a good selection of custom hosts to join if there no region lock. But the rest of week, custom hosts will be harder to fine and more likely only have a few players. So if want to get to race in a full lobby, the playlist will probably be your best bet.

In GRID 2, I did most my racing online in the playlists. Mostly in Hardcore when it got patch in. And thanks to the pre-order bonuses and dlcs mess, about half the custom hosts I could not join anyway!!

I think @Loore said that Flashbacks would be limited so they can't  just be used willy nilly so that should prevent people doing it too much if at all

  6. well got 4 cracking strikers in my Spurs squad on PES 2014 right now Adebayor Soldado Defoe and Negredo all of whom are scoring goals for fun 2nd behind Chelsea right now with the 2 Manchester clubs taking up the other CL spots but then my whole squad is chipping in really in terms of goals

Just started a new career on FIFA 12 as Sunderland player manager. I'm sick of winning everything so it's a harder difficulty.
yeah I tend to tweak the settings up if I end up with a season where I've won everything too. When I have a season where I've not won anything then I tend to turn it back down if I have an inbetween season then I stay where I am. Good fun though

  8. Well  as we have one for the football manager games I thought I'd open up a thread for the more active football games FIFA and PES and the careers and such we have going on them so feel free to discuss anything FIFA/PES related here

Just please no arguments as to which is better than the other :p

you can even share vids of your best goals if you like

After watching my fav race, the Monaco Grand Prix this morning I fired up F1 2001 on my 55 inch screen, and using a Thrustmaster Hotas X that I originally bought for my flight sims, I was surprised to get a 23.2, which is only perhaps 2 seconds off the leaders in the real race with all the new drivetrain and energy recovery electronics that of course aren't figured into the 2011 version!  That's the best I ever did!

Now a couple of questions.  I used to use a Microsoft Precision Pro stick for racing before I got this new stick, and one thing a really liked was the fact that I could use one of the 4 buttons laid out on its base for braking and reverse.  For some reason it almost felt as if it worked like a real brake pedal, providing graduated braking in a way I've not ever been able to match on any other stick's buttons!  On my Thrustmaster there's not even a button on the stick or the throttle side bases low and responsive enough to use for braking so I either have to use the pull-back-on-the-stick method or one of the throttle buttons which are all uncomfortably high for me!  So right now I'm using the #5 or #7 buttons on the throttle side to handle my braking!

I know there's very little I can do about this situation but I was wondering if the next version of F1 set up for the 2014 season will first be setup as a sim with all the new changes brought to F1 racing this year, second, if there is anyway a braking control can be made that really provides graduated braking other than by having to use the stick to do so.  Also, what other changes do I have to look forward to, and when is it planned to be released?

I'm really happy to have found this forum, and if everything goes well in the next version I hope to find an MP racing league as well!  But in the meantime I greatly appreciate any response!

Unfortunately we don't kinow much about F1 2014 yet other than the fact there will be one as CM| have yet to share any details I think they're focused on getting Grid Autosport done first before directing their attention F1's way

And I cant remember my last Grid 2 session not on the hardcore playlist, purely because I dont want to be casually trashed by flashback users.
The flashback playlists are not used by a lot of people, please have a playlist (or two) without flashbacks, for the more 'serious casual !'  :)  players to jump in and race.
See the playlists have changed the way I and a lot of others go online, I have done only a dozen or so of my 3.5k+ Grid 2 online races in custom lobbies,  flashbacks are not required here.
You may well be onto something here Loggy maybe what we need is maybe having a kind of half sand half situation where some will allow those that haven't got the idea yet to still race with flashbacks and for those that don't feel they need them can go onto the alternative ones just prompt the player to select which group they wish to join before going in. Don't know if it woulfd be done but it could be a halfway house measure that would suit everyone
