  1. @sjsharp2010 I definitely recommend it, it doesn't come across as your average shooter to me :) One of the best things is you can go full stealth with throwing knives and cutting throats, or just stomp into every room, balls out and dual wielding assualt rifles, and both approaches work :)

And you can buy a Steam key for it for £22 if you shop around, well worth the money!

@SILVERARROWS Imagine Max Mosley's Nazi stripper sex party, only minus the strippers and plus robotic dogs who's idea of fun is having a nibble on your face ;)
will probably buy and set it to download while watching the Monaco GP then :D

Demanding PC specs =/= Good game.

Hopefully yes it does have a recommended processor spec of an FX8350 which is the processor powering my beast so obviously quite demanding.

been playing PES today and you'd be thinking the league was upside down given Fulham are in a champions league spot and Liverpool are near the relegation zone still plenty  of games to play though as we've only just finishjed playing matchday 10

Recommended for Ultra settings is an i7 4770k ;) The only thing I'm lacking on the ultra requirements is a GTX 780. Should be all good for a mix of high and ultra though with the 770 :)

Talking of games with fairly high sysreq's, I got Wolfenstein: The New Order today. I'm surprised by how much fun it is! The game has a great feel and a great look to it, I can't help but imagine that if Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Bioshock Infinite, Metro Last Light, and CoD: WaW had a sweaty orgy, Wolfenstein would be the bastard result :D
I do wonder what goes on in your mind sometimes ...
it's probably best we don't know tbf :p

yeah I've seen the new Wolfenstein game it does look good. I'm tempted but I do have a lot of shooters. I may look at buying it on download from Steam but not sure at the moment I shouldn't have too many problems with watchdogs though as like you I have the 770 and 32gb in RAM to play with as well

They are not all the same, and the oval racing in SHIFT was fun although the 1/4 mile oval seemed more circus than race.

    Frank
you must be talking about the Rustle Creek track as that was really short would have thought though that if we see an oval Indianapolis would be the most likely one given it made an appearance in Grid 2 but as you say they're not all the same and like any other tracks you see in motorsport need different setups to negotiate them successfully

given where @Loore has supposedly gone we could end up seeing COTA in Grid Autosport and given Indianapolis was in Grid 2 we could see those tracks not too sure about the others though
Riverside's a tough cookie, and I know that with the short development time Pocono is even a stretch, but my wishes don't necessarily have to be realistic. Honestly, the only facepalm moment I'll have is if the Indy Car is in without Indianapolis. COTA would be a VERY pleasant bonus, and I've been yapping about it since they opened the circuit two years ago, mostly due to fan provincialism, but also because it's a complex racetrack and loads of fun to play on in the F1 games (game? 2012 was the last one to get a physical release in North America).

Having just checked @Loore's twitter feed, I don't find it strange that he went through Dallas (DFW is major air traffic hub). If he was here to see some racetracks there are only a few major permanent facilities in Texas he'd have visited:
    • Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas (right next to Dallas, the track is just north of the metropolitan area). Hosts IRL/USAC Indy Car racing (Dallara DW12) and all three of NASCAR's national series. The track is a 1.5 mile tri-oval. There aren't any other layouts used by major competion.
    • Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas. This would have been a 2 hour drive from Dallas, not accounting for traffic. There's an airport in Austin, but it'd have been cheaper to fly him into Dallas and use a car. Used for F1, American Le Mans Series, and a V8 Supercars race in 2012. A road course with multiple layouts. He mentions a lot of screaming about a basketball game on May 14th, this was the day of Game 5 between San Antonio and Portland in the NBA playoffs. Austin doesn't have an NBA team, but San Antonio is about 80 miles south of Austin. Circuit of the Americas will also be the site of the X-Games in a few weeks time, with parts of the circuit being used in the Rallycross course.
    • Texas World Speedway in College Station, Texas. This is a 2.0 mile oval with 3 or 4 road course layouts. It's just west of Houston, and it'd have been cheaper to fly there than take the 4 and a half hour trip by car (maybe). It hasn't been used by any major series for competition since the early 1980s, and is currently only used for club racing and testing by teams in IRL and NASCAR due to the similarity in the Ovals shape and length to tracks in Fontana, California and Brooklyn, Michigan.
well I haven't checked @Loore's twitter feed as I don't follow him but I do know that they don't usually use ovals in the Grid games (having played both 1 and 2) generally unless it's a half oval half track type race track like like the F1 Indy track was they have done that and I do know from @justbiglee that he said he had gone to Texas which immediately made me think COTA because COTA is already in CM's games as part of the F1 series as it's in both F1 2012 and F1 2013  I should know as I raced on it earlier today on those games and won and I know that other forms of motorsport use it as well so I though t maybe they're looking at adding it to Autosport as a possible venue.
judging by thee Endurance info looks like I was right with my suspicions knew I should've been a detective :p

  6. The video shows the race in the day time as well as night. I thought it was stated that endurance races are set during the night? I really hope it's like Grid 1 where you started during the day, drove through the night, and finished during the day.
there's probably a combination of day and night events but it would be nice to see a day/night transition in Grid Autosport like we see at Abu Dhabi in the F1 games

  8. Watch Dogs is dispatched! I'm hoping against all hope that it arrives tomorrow now :D
mine's been dispatched as well it's got a delivery date of Tuesday but in my opinion the sooner the better really :D
Well it'll either come tomorrow or Tuesday, no inbetweens unfortunately! I've had Tuesday release games arrive on Saturday twice before so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :)
agreed but I'm suer it's a good game certainly should be given it's got quite demanding PC specs :)

And I reckon that is the reason Codies want to have flashbacks in Grid Games.  To make the games more welcoming to more new recruits.  So, how to implement flashbacks for new players without alienating the veteran fans?

    Frank

P.S.  Not all of us used flashbacks even as new players.  GRID was only my second contemporary racing game and I managed to get into it without flashbacks, but that doesn't seem to work for everyone.
yeah back on F1 2010 I tried to get into the game  without using flashbacks as well as I felt using flashbacks might feel somewhsat cheating the system but I just found the handling to difficult without them even on Amateur difficulty. It's not that I can't race it's just I think that sometimes I have a tendency to push a little too hard when I'm chasing another car especially if I'm close to that car and trying to get past them. I used to use them more than I do now though as I tended to use them all up when first playing it. Nowadays though I've managed to get good enough to not need more than 1 or 2 a session at most the only place I tend to still need them all is Monaco but then I've always found that a somewhat chaotic track and hard to get to grips with. If I'm out front on my own then on the odd occasion I've managed to get through without using any but thsat is quite rare when that happens.
But are we talking offline sjsharp2010, if so, I would think most here do not have any issue if flashbacks are available offline for those that want to use them.

But online it a different story. Griefers use flashbacks to their advantage to cause more trouble on the track with flashbacks, some players will take more risks in their racing if they can use a flashback to fix their bad decision to go to fast into turn and get sideways, causing player behind him to hit his car.

The quality of racing will be better in the playlists if there no flashbacks to use. Having flashbacks in playlist will drive good players away and cause online to die off early. IMO

I know we are talking about online and all my experiences come from offline but to me it's still more or less the same thing as you're still racing with other cars on the track the only difference is the cars are controlled by humans rather than AI at least that's how I see it

You mean text chat is in now? That the only way that will get GAS on my buy list on release day.
    No I don't mean that.

I have said all along that if the driving model is spot on that will get us buying and the rest of the stuff can follow.
I now know, through someone who's opinion I actually trust, that the driving model is spot on and very similar to Grid 1 . .and I'm talking about someone who has tried it.

Loore is definitely a clever bugger, lol . . . he knew exactly what to do . .  and I thought only politician's created leaks.

    ^:)^
that's why he's a community manager and we're just lowly consumers
    :)) :p

  11. wel we've never been the best exactly in Defence attacking we've always been pretty good though but it's nice seeing Spurs in the top 4.

almost at the halfway stage of my season and after slipping down to 11th after having a somewhat poor run of 5 games without a win and 3 of them defeats we've recovered back up to4th with 3 wins on the bounce since I've taken a more hands on approach so looking like taking moer responsibility myself has certainly helped will upload a screenshot of my league once I get to the halfway stage

is that Dover Athletic I see in League 2? they're going really well in your game I hope my Dover goes as well in due course

I've always disliked how much Hamilton goes on about how hard he's had to work to get into F1, we get the message Lewis.
Pretty sure Alonso & Vettel started with nothing, and i wouldn't be surprised if Hulkenburg, Grosjean and others didn't have a luxurious life.
it's just playing mind games with Rosberg he knows Nico is his main threat for the title this year not Alonso or Vettel it's just his way of shooting one accros the bows just like a lot of Football managers do to each other even I do sometimes on my Football manager games

  13. just ended a 5 game winless streak with victory against Basingstoke made some changes to the training regimes and am taking a more hands on approach myself given the team were not doing as I asked. Fired one of my coaches in the hopes I can get someone in to really motivate the team

  15. MMMmmm that'll do nicely..

I REALLY do hope that text chat is added, (either on launch or as soon as can be done after launch).

It was such a cornerstone for the community, without it we're stuck with Steam chat with friends only or having voice chat active all the time, we all remember how much fu it was to hear some ignoramus in the lobby eating a packet of crisps, or worse yet those with the chat set to what you hear thereby drowning out your engine in favour of theirs, making the game nigh on unplayable or difficult at best.
If CM subject us to any form of Steam chat they will be creating the start of another GFWL type campaign against them, just like the one Purple was so enthusiastic about, and never once bending from his objectives . . .

In Grid 2 it was made clear, very clear, WE DO NOT WANT STEAM CHAT . . .
they may not have much of a choice though if the game is incorporated into Steam that's the problem with these online services they not only require you to activate the game through them to play they force you to when wanting to play multiplayer and stuff work through their services too Origin do this as well that's why I generally prefer the simplicity of the old days when we could simply just stick a disk in the machine install the program and use it. Almost as bad as suggesting you need to have 24hr internet connection on your console just to make it work on the new systems
