I don't think F1 2014 is their top priority at this moment in time Grid Autosport is but once Autosport has been released then I think will come details on the next F1 game but until then I think we just have to wait they've already said they can't talk about F1 2014 yet and I suspect that this is the reason why. -
I agree and this is a question we have to ask ourselves in that do we trust them enough not to make the same mistake twice? Generally I have to say in my opinion I do because CM have in general have made more games that I do enjoy playing than games that I haven't and I've owned and played many over the years (and this is always going to work in their favour) which to me indicates that generally they care about their products. They know mistakes were made last year with Grid 2 and F1 2013 I would put in that category too it was all in all a bad and unlucky year for CM but it sounds to me that they're now obviously very keen to try and put that right with Autosport. I think they will they're just too smart to slip up again especially as prior to 2013 all their games have been pretty high quality. They said that they've listened and judging by Autosport's features that they've released it certainly appears to me that they have. The only unfortunate thing here is until we have the game in our hands we can't know for certain but for now like you I believe them.CaptainJack said:

As I don't make use of multiplayer features this doesn't bother me but the single player stuff does and to me at least from @Loore and @justbiglee's standpoint they've made the right noises that I wanted to hear in order to convince me to get the game I know it's their job to promote the companies work. Sure have, enough that I want to play the game and that I believe from the evidence at hand that it will be worth the freight. But there's still room for reservations, criticism and disappointment. Won't be the perfect GRID sequel of course. Even GRID has never been perfect, but it is my yardstick. I'm pretty sure I'll still have criticism of GRID A even while I'm enjoying it, and I'll post the good along with the bad right here (or on the next Codies forum). For me as a single player the true test is how long I will be playing it. I have a lot of games, good and bad, that I don't play any more. Still playing GRID after almost six years. It will be interesting to see if I continue once I've put some time into GRID A.
I believe GRID: Autosport is going to be at least a pretty good game, and maybe a lot better than that - for single players.

For the first time in many years Purple is even being somewhat positive about it, could that be an indicator ?
After the debacle of Grid 2 I think that maybe we are of the mind that, well, it couldn't be worse than that ?
Aren't we all a bit defensive when it comes to passing over money for a product ? I mean, no-one likes feeling the fool for being ripped off.
There are sales people who do care that we get a good product and those who couldn't give a damn just as long as they get the money.
We have certainly attacked CM with being the latter . .
So now it becomes a personal decision, do we believe and trust Loore ?
For my part I say Loore has put his whole credibility firmly on the line, he comes across as a guy who believes in the product, which is as good as it can get, and good enough for me.
Say it fails ! . .so what, how many times have we tried and failed to achieve something ? something we gave our all to, can't knock a guy for that . . .and don't forget, Loore is just a guy, he's not his job, that is what he does, let's not confuse the two.

tbh that really is the only thing they have in common thoughPeteTheDuck said:Both South American, but Montoya was chubbier than Maldonado is.

PC/keyboard, offline single player.yeah like you I'm a single player myself and for me it sounds good better than Grid 2 anyway and I do enjoy Grid 2 I've only really got 2 problems with Grid 2 and one's pretty minor and the other's a bit more major although both aren't that big a problem in general and don't stop me enjoying the game.
The first is I found the AI a little too aggressive but only at times I know that being touring car type racing they tend to be more aggressive anyway but I just felt that in 1 or 2 places I think they took it a tad too far and that it needed toning down just a notch. I was able to compete with them so it's not a major problem the other issue is I felt the career mode was a little short and needed expanding on tbh. It would have been nice to have had a larger variety of events to keep us coming back for more. Grid 2 is still a good game though and I will probably go through it again at somestage. Career mode could have used more work though. It sounds like Autosport does have a more expansive career so maybe they've done something about this in the new game

yeah they shift about depending on how successful you are in each of the teams you race for in your career they shift about in 2012 as well as in 2010 and 2011 but they took this out in the 2013 game for what I don't know but I certainly preferred it when it was in. For example in the career I'm doing right now on 2012 I started with Marrussia in year 1 in year 2 Marrussia were in and around mid table through most of the races and picking up the odd points finishTourgott said:
Hm I played the hell out of 2012 but never experienced this. Are you sure?sjsharp2010 said:
It was like that in 2012 and the earlier games but for some reason CM took that outTourgott said:As for the career it should be much more difficult to get a seat in a Tier1 team. Would make the career mode more challenging. And maybe it would be a good idea to make the strength of the cars random in season 2. So maybe in season 2 Ferrari is the best car, in season 3 Mercedes and so on.

I think @loore said they had something to do with reflections or something on the textures can't be 100% certain though maybe @justbiglee could shed some light on the subject if he's around but can't be too sureAndi said:
Apparently PC is getting a DLC on launch with high detail textures, I'll assume they aren't cockpit related but it would be nice...Purple44 said:I thought the reason why there was no cock-pit view in GRID 2 was because the consoles could not handle high detail cock-pit view and handle the other eye candy that Codies wanted to do with GRID 2? And Codemasters was unwilling to do high detail cock-pit view just for the PC.
GRID Autosport is for the old consoles, 360 and PS3, so this problem has not gone away.

Ido think CM| aer learning from their mistakes but the problem these days in business and especially in the sports world is that people want results and are not interested in excuses that's why football clubs are always changing their managers and don't care if they have to sack someone to get the results they want. Obviously it's not quite the same in business but after what happened with Grid 2 and F1 2013 I think they must have ben concerned given the changes they have made and decisions with Grid Autosport let's just hope that they pay off for them. Based on what I've heard I think they will but only time unfortunately can answer that for certainCaptainJack said:

I tend to reflect somewhat on the human condition involved, after all, we are dealing with fellow human beings with all their fallibilities, just like we have to deal with our own.
You'd be amazed at what I have received from different companies by treating them with respect and a kind word when the product I bought from them was faulty . .the mighty Amazon not only showed unexpected generosity but also a letter from the management expressing thanks that someone acknowledged their efforts, saying that such sentiments are genuinely appreciated by the staff.
But if you have put your order in, and I remember you weren't so keen with Grid 2, then you also have detected some merit . . . and there is definitely something about this game which we can't quite put our finger on ?
Maybe it's the intuition at work . . .
Crazy as it may sound, part of my reason for my buying the game is in sending a vote of support for the company, this is also why I said if the game fails there will be no criticism from me.
A lot of water has passed under the bridge over the last 6 years and for the first time I think we have made headway with CM. Small steps, you know the meaning of that . . .

yeag it would be good but I can't see that happening right away because of the time it takes to transition everything over and program the new rules and such and we all know the F|1 games are made to deadlines maybe once the new systems aer in place then maybe they may consider adding this kind of thing but I just don't see it happening this time around thoughJJRosso said:I cant see why we shouldnt be able unlock these tracks as a reward for completing parts of the game. Sure online will be without a couple of tracks on day 1, but as usual people will require them quickly enough. Imagine this "complete Classics scenario mode with all golds, receive an extra (not yet included) classic car and unlock the Old Silverstone track". Or "Complete all F1 scenerio with all golds and unlock Turkey, Nurburgring and McLaren as a career mode starting team". It would make certain modes more playable and rewarding.

well I haven't checked @Loore's twitter feed as I don't follow him but I do know that they don't usually use ovals in the Grid games (having played both 1 and 2) generally unless it's a half oval half track type race track like like the F1 Indy track was they have done that and I do know from @justbiglee that he said he had gone to Texas which immediately made me think COTA because COTA is already in CM's games as part of the F1 series as it's in both F1 2012 and F1 2013 I should know as I raced on it earlier today on those games and won and I know that other forms of motorsport use it as well so I though t maybe they're looking at adding it to Autosport as a possible venue.Speedball said:
Riverside's a tough cookie, and I know that with the short development time Pocono is even a stretch, but my wishes don't necessarily have to be realistic. Honestly, the only facepalm moment I'll have is if the Indy Car is in without Indianapolis. COTA would be a VERY pleasant bonus, and I've been yapping about it since they opened the circuit two years ago, mostly due to fan provincialism, but also because it's a complex racetrack and loads of fun to play on in the F1 games (game? 2012 was the last one to get a physical release in North America).sjsharp2010 said:given where @Loore has supposedly gone we could end up seeing COTA in Grid Autosport and given Indianapolis was in Grid 2 we could see those tracks not too sure about the others though
Having just checked @Loore's twitter feed, I don't find it strange that he went through Dallas (DFW is major air traffic hub). If he was here to see some racetracks there are only a few major permanent facilities in Texas he'd have visited:- Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas (right next to Dallas, the track is just north of the metropolitan area). Hosts IRL/USAC Indy Car racing (Dallara DW12) and all three of NASCAR's national series. The track is a 1.5 mile tri-oval. There aren't any other layouts used by major competion.
- Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas. This would have been a 2 hour drive from Dallas, not accounting for traffic. There's an airport in Austin, but it'd have been cheaper to fly him into Dallas and use a car. Used for F1, American Le Mans Series, and a V8 Supercars race in 2012. A road course with multiple layouts. He mentions a lot of screaming about a basketball game on May 14th, this was the day of Game 5 between San Antonio and Portland in the NBA playoffs. Austin doesn't have an NBA team, but San Antonio is about 80 miles south of Austin. Circuit of the Americas will also be the site of the X-Games in a few weeks time, with parts of the circuit being used in the Rallycross course.
- Texas World Speedway in College Station, Texas. This is a 2.0 mile oval with 3 or 4 road course layouts. It's just west of Houston, and it'd have been cheaper to fly there than take the 4 and a half hour trip by car (maybe). It hasn't been used by any major series for competition since the early 1980s, and is currently only used for club racing and testing by teams in IRL and NASCAR due to the similarity in the Ovals shape and length to tracks in Fontana, California and Brooklyn, Michigan.

yeah either way we know it's in so it's all good :DRubyRuby said:I agree with Workhorse. That's Time Trial. In Time Attack you compete against other cars on the track at the same time from a staggered start, rolling or standing. You race for a specified number of laps and the shortest lap time wins.
And Tuners, yes! It's great fun beating Vipers in a Skyline R34 in GRID.

Simple for me too really I'm just a general motorsport fan that liked the idea of a good rallying game. I have watched some rallying on TV but I'm not as familiar with that as I am other racing disciplines My favourite discipline of course is F1 as I pretty much watch that every weekend it's on.(Exce4pt when something ilke a World cup is on or something then I may miss the odd race and just watch the highlights.) I don't often watch practice but I always watch/record every qualifying/race session as the early morning ones at the start and the end of a season as they tend to be at weird times for me so tend to record those ones to watch later in the day. -
sounds a bit like me then :pjustbiglee said:
