  1. Getting this thread back to actually what it's meant for...

Been playing a bunch of the new Doom tonight, definitely surpassed my expectations! It's the most fun I've had in FPS game in a very very long time. The whole flow of the game, in terms of movement and shooting is extremely well done, to the point that even playing with a controller doesn't feel much less accurate than playing mouse and keyboard. Graphics are great, runs really well, it's only using one of my GPU's and I'm still always over 60FPS with all settings (minus DOF and motion blur) set to Ultra.

It's almost like they took the original Doom, and turned it up to 11.

    Some of my screenshots.

Yeah it's a good game got it myself as well played a little last night before going to bed. It's tougher than the original Doom games but it definitely has the original Doom like atmosphere about it I agree. Nice screenshots btw.

My AMD problem was with laptop graphics drivers.  Maybe they weren't missing, just taking a time out.  I gave them four days to show, but that game does not age well.

The MS problem wasn't with their spying, just with me knowing what's going in or out of my PC.  As for dodgy activities, I'm not engaged in any but it looks like MS is.  The software is from MS, but the PC is mine and that's where MS thinks they are entitled to dump or remove anything whether I want it or not, whether I know what it is, or not.  That doesn't seem dodgy to you?

I have a couple of SSDs for the PC, so I reckon I'll be getting much faster boots soon without Win10.  I am content with 1080p and 60fps.  And RAM is cheap, especially if I stick with DDR3 for a while longer.  I don't need the best tech, just sufficient tech.  As for privacy, I don't have anything to hide but that doesn't make my privacy less important.  Generalities are insufficient and I'm still dubious.  I'm willing to give Win10 another try, but not until I see solid reasons to do so.  I'm aware that eventually I'll have to give up on Win7, but not yet.
Yeah I'm dubious about Win 10 as well if it's any consolation. I've given it a try but I ended up with more problems than positives out of the few days I spent with it so went back to Win 7. I may go to Win 10 eventually but that'll likely be when I next go for a new PC besides my computer's running fine for now and I'm able to do what I want for the most part with Win 7 so things are working well.  Although I've had to spend most of today reprogramming it as I had a virus that was making my Anti virus system freak out like crazy. Fortunately it's solved now.

It needs to go to the last game so Newcastle have something to play for and beat Spurs, which means when Arsenal win they finish 2nd. So in Spurs best ever season they still end up finishing behind Arsenal.

not going to happen I'm confident we'll beat Newcastle

  4. Looks like we've both hit some good form then @RevolvingPrawn as when I was playing Dragon Age Origins I got past the broodmother during the dwarf section without any of my team going down first time I've ever done that and again earlier was fighting a tough section in Mark of the Assassin DLC for DA2 and again got through  it first time usually takes me at least 3 attempts. Still got to take omn Duke Prospre and his pet Wyvern but I feel moer confident than usual I can do it better than before

  5. Not an easy thing to say this but well done Leicester you deserve it.

Still hopefully we can still hang onto 2nd. Besides at the start of the season if someone told me Spurs would finish 2nd in the league I'd have taken it. Hopefully next season we can continue to do as well as this.

FIFA may have all the licences but the game feels empty and half assed. I suppose thats what happens when they focus on easy money of Ultimate Team.

Yeah that's why I tend to prefer FIFA more tbh these days. PES gameplay is solid enough but having to keep downloading patches every year just to put the real team names and kits into PES can be a real pain in the neck. Especially as sometimes they don't work. I'm surprised Konami just don't give up and just let EA get on with it. Because in my opinion Konami are fighting a losing battle.

  7. Whilst at work today I saw that PES 2016 was down to £17 and had the license for the Euro 2016 Championship. I like buying the World cup and Euro's games when they come out using all the stadiums, cool intros ect....

Got home and holy **** what a disappointment....the whole game....it has ONE stadium from the Euros, and only 15 of the 24 teams licensed. And like another 8 or 9 stadiums both generic and real life. And they seem to have less teams licensed than before.....it's just such a poor attempt.

Although once again it plays so much better than Fifa, as per usual. Fun to play but I'm one of those that likes a variety of stadiums....and the San Siro and Giuseppe Meazza ARE NOT TWO DIFFERENT STADIUMS, THEY ARE THE SAME
Agreed the Guiseppe Meazza is San Siro's other name but there you are that's what you get I suppose when you hand licenses over to Konami a half assed job

I absolutely love Dark Souls 3, over 24 hours of play and I'm so hooked! It's one of the few games that forces you to actually learn and get better. Beat the boss Curse-Rotted Greatwood and got very lucky, I killed him and just as I did he killed me, but I killed him first so it counted thankfully. Such an awesome game, I can really see why it's such a popular series. Onto the road of sacrifices, starts off pretty hard until you get how these new enemies attack. It's so open ended, so I bet I've missed some secrets, so I'll definitely be completing the game more than once. Most games these days you are way overpowered so it's not a fair fight, in this game you are matched really well, enemies may be stronger but you can outsmart them. Think I might but Bloodborne at some point and use my PS4 for the first time in like a year.
Yeah sounds a boit how I feel like when I play the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games

Do you remember the days when you'd be off the forums for a couple of days, and then you'd come back to about 100+ new posts and would spend ages reading them?

Now it's more like 2 lol.
Agreed it's got extremely quiet in Off topic lately the main F1 section seems t be ticking over to an extent but here it's pretty dead. But then I've spent more time on Boiware's forums than here lately as there always seems to be activity there of some sort.

Last night I lost count how many times I died trying to kill the first boss in Dark Souls 3, loving it so far though.

Seen people on Steam saying they have stuttering with a similar system to me, but for me it's the smoothest game on launch for a long time, no stuttering and a constant 60fps. Maybe they haven't installed the latest driver or something.

Yeah that's omne of the main reasons why I'm a bit sceptical about DS because I heard it can be a rather difficult game. I 've got into a lo tof RPG's lately but this one I've always given a wide berth because of that really. Besides I recently treated myself to the Baldur's Gate series. Although it's an old game I'm actually looking forward to it given it's made by Bioware and they make great RPG's

Bit of an odd one when I thought Codemasters themselves were struggling
    http://www.pcgamer.com/codemasters-rescues-evolution-studios-to-form-multi-platform-racing-powerhouse/

In other news, I finally took the plunge and bought Dark Souls 3, roll on 11pm tonight  :D I got a slight discount as I own Dark Souls on Steam, so it was about £36.
Indeed I though t they ewer as well but I wish them luck though.

  12. Have to admit though I do feel a little sorry for Villa though considering in all he years I've been following football they've always been part of the top flight so it's going to seem a bit strange not seeing them there next year. Especially considering they are quite a respectable club as well. But more often than not you don't win by playing nice these days it seems. In fact I don't even know the last time they were relegated

It still needs to be approved and published by WMSC though, so I wouldn't call it 100% confirmed yet :#

I would have thought that since all the teams have agreed to it it will be though.
This is Formula 1, logic doesn't come into it bud.
True but seeing as the teams won't settle for anything else they may as well give in otherwise we could end up with a situation where we will see no action in qualifying

  14. Good news everybody!

finally it seems sense has prevailed let's see for how long.
Well, there is this piece of information floating about:

    https://twitter.com/adamcooperF1/status/718104386052964352

Not really sure why the format needs any sort of review. Sure, improvements can always be made, but this sounds like another unnecessary change waiting to happen.
that's why I said let's see for how long because they'll always want to try to change something

Anyone going to get Dark Souls 3? I've only played the first one, but didn't get into it much as the PC version was a mess. I was going to buy the updated DX11 2 version but didn't for some reason. It's the kinda game I like so I'm not sure why I didn't get  2, but I'm seriously thinking about getting 3.

Probably not it's not really my sort of game per se. I know it's an RPG and all that just not sure it's my kind of RPG. I did order the Baldur's gate series to have a go at yesterday  which I'm looking forward to trying even though it's old. But then I've been enjoying Bioware's games a lot lately so I thought I'd add to them

Eek, I'm about to reach 600 hours playing Ark, not bad for an early access game :D

Found this  awesome huge open cave in this modded map, can't see it in the pic really but Thor's hammer is in the middle, no idea why but it's cool. So many interesting places compared to the standard map, love games like this that are open to mods, gives you unlimited stuff to try really.

    ps I have no life.

    lol
don't think either of us do :p but tbh that's the way I like it atm. but then I've sunk 1600 hours into DAI according to Origin over the past year
