Go into Origin settings, then look where it's downloading it to and it should be in there. This one should work for your PC http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 Install it, restart PC and then try installing the game again.
didn't like it at first but eventually it worked DAI is now back up and running

    Try installing this Vc2013 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003
Or go to the folder where the game is downloaded and find VC

Unfortunately the game is not showing up in any folders atm and that link you gave me is saying it's not compatible with my PC.

Just run into my first problem with Windows 10 attempting to download Dragon Age Inquisition and it won't install Been thinking about getting a disc copy of the game for a while as I've played it a lot since I bought it including the DLC of which there is more to come. Bought a disc copy from Amazon hopefully when that arrives I can get it working

If you can't install the download version, the disc version will be no different. You still have to download most of the game. Does it give you error message?

yeah it does It says "The VC++ redistributable package was not installed successfully Setup cannot continue" and that was after waiting 4 hours waiting for the game to download. Strange really as it installed nice and fast on Win 7 when I bought it. It sounds to me that one file or somethings been kicked out. Strange really as so far all the ME's have gone on nice and smoothly in fact they're running better than ever based on the opening levels of ME3 that I've played.

Anyway my DAI disc copy has already been dispatched so it's too late to cancel that. Besides even if I switch back to Win 7 means I'll be able to install it faster anyway using the disc. I'm hoping I don't need to switch back though but so far it's the only glitch I've found. Shame really as DAI has become one of my favourite games this year

  5. Ahh, no no, I mean when you right click on a game and go to properties, under one of the tabs there's something along the lines of verify game cache integrity or something, it basically checks and makes sure all of the games files are intact, and if there's any missing or with problems it'll redownload them. If a game worked on W8 but not on W10 then just run that bud.
Ah right haven't encountered any issues thus far but I've only installed Tomb Raider atm

  6. That's weird bud, I only really ever verify files when there's a problem with a game. Most of the time though they just work without trouble
Once they're installed they work fineit's only when I initially install them I have to have Steam online to verify everything. Once it's installed though and gone through an initial boot up everything works fine. So normally when after I've installed one I usually boot it up to the main menu to clear it.

Devastated. Just lost my main save on Grand Prix World as I hit bankruptcy :(

aww had that problem a few times myself when I played the game.

Just about to start assembling my game library on Windows 10 now. Just need to get Steam and Origin back up and running. Also need to install my older games too to make sure they still work. Had a few problems with my headphone drivers but aside from that it's been working well  so far. I did manage to get the headphones working eventually though.

If you have any problems with games in Steam crashing on launch with W10, just verify the game files. I've done it a few times now and verifying has worked each time :)
yeah I know I quite often have to verify my installations everytime I install a new Steam game anyway on Win 7 as well so am used to that.

  9. well there is one nice thing about Win 10 is that it's a lot faster or at least feels that way to me. So far the only things that have been awkward is finding the various functions but I know it's all there as last night I accidently installed some malware fortunately I did get rid of it though but took a while to find the uninstall features. Fortunately though I eventually managed to find the control panel and set it up on my Start menu. So should be easy to find now

Yea you won't really see any improvements in games, not until games use DX12 ;) I do actually believe Microsoft now though, that they are showing the PC platform some love. Can't wait until Gears Of War remaster comes to PC, think it's going to use DX12. They did release the first one for PC, but it was a right mess.

I'm also looking forward to Fable Legends, it's not single player but it all does sound good considering it's F2P. I'm signed up for the beta on X1 and PC, normally I wouldn't even play a Free2play game, but I'm willing to give it a chance. Sadly it does have a slight pay2win as you can buy gear, would have been better to just be able to buy cosmetic stuff. But you do always play against others with similar level equipment, so I'm not sure pay 2 win will affect the game. I hope they release a Fable 4 at some point, as I'd much prefer a singleplayer campaign.

well now that Win 10 is out I think we'll see it though just had to switch mice on my computer as I think that was being troublesome but hopefully now I've fixed those issues I can start to see the benefits of Win 10

Yea I love Windows 10, it is by far the best OS, as it actually feels modern. Instead of having that separate metro UI, it's now fused together and works really well. I kinda want to sell my IPad and get a Windows 10 tablet, or tablet/laptop.

yeah went in nice and smoothly on my machine  one of the smoothest installations I think I've vber had of an operating system. If it runs my games as smoothly as it went in on my machine me and Win 10 are going to get on very well  I think. Still yet to test my games on it but I probably will at some point today as I still need to get a few other programs/drivers installed first so that I can hopefully get everything working.

  12. You'll deffo have to backup your PCars save bud, I did a fresh reinstall a couple of weeks back and lost my PCars save. Seems it doesn't use Steam Cloud

Strange but it doesn't really matter with regards my P Cars save so much as I've only really done 1 season it's more a case of I do want to save Autosport as I've done between 20/30 seasons of that give or take either way I've done a lot and I haven't even raced the top end cars on it yet

    Got Windows 10 downloading now.

  13. I've put my PC in the upgrade system just need the OK to download now as I hadn't reserved it as usually I turn Windows update off when my computers running smoothly as I don't like it messing me up when in the middle of a game. Which Windows update has a habit of doing when I have it turned on. So I had to turn it on and run through the various updates to get it. Hope it doesn't take too long though. In the meantime will do another season or 2 on P Cars and Grid Autosport I think so I can save those to the cloud

Wow I'm loving Windows 10, everything @RevolvingPrawn said was correct. Even coming from Windows 8.1 this feels like a big upgrade. Edge (IE) is awesome, and so is the music app. Without me doing anything, it added all my music in seconds. Microsoft have listened, the way it fused it all together into a really modern feeling OS is fantastic. I would highly recommended anyone with 7 or 8.1 to upgrade.  Once Edge allows extensions it'll be perfect.

Edge is a completely new Browser for Windows 10, IE will be still there but moved to a folder out of the way with other older programs like paint.
Yes I know that as I used it last night, meant to put IB. They had to keep it due to Edge not being the finished browser yet.

Yeah will probably go for it today at some point as I have a couple more games to do but they shouldn't take too long as they're just my CM F1 career mode saves and in those cases I 'm only going to do the 1 race weekend and leave it at that. So hopefully by the end of my play today fingers crossed I'll be using Windows 10 as well

Yeah IE is still there according to vids I've seen. I will probably still continue to use it at least until I can find my way around Edge anyway. Because I tend to use a combination of IE and Chrome on Win 7. I tend to only use Chrome for accessing the Dragon Age keep site and for Bioware's forums because IE doesn't work too well on those sites. For general use I prefer IE though mostly because I can set up the toolbars just the way I like them best on IE. So for general internet stuff IE works best for me

@sjsharp2010 You don't really need to make sure your saves are in the cloud, as it's like a update. You can start a fresh but you can also just keep everything, just like when Windows 8 came out ;)

I'm going for a fresh install though not an update because my PC is having a few problems that need clearing out right now anyway. So basically I'm wiping everything off my drive so I need to use the cloud to keep what I want to keep if I'm going for that. If it was going to be a simple update sure I wouldn't worry so much.

Edit got to the point where I can stop on the Witcher 1 finally I think. In the case of the F1 games I'll likely just do 1 race weekend on each game to save them. On my other Steam games I have going I'll just likely take it to the next checkjpoint so this next step will be quicker. Once all that is done I'll be ready for Windows 10

@RevolvingPrawn Time to install Windows 10.

Enjoy it going to be another day or 2 before I'm ready to install  to try out but I hope I'll be ready to give it a try at somestage over the weekend. I'm busy trying to get my games saved over to the cloud first before making my move. I have the equipment I need as I keep backups on flash drives anyway. I'm just trying to get to a convenient place in my gasmes to stop and save to the cloud. Almost done that with Witcher 1 once I've done that I can do that with the other games.

True, but I still enjoyed it. There are many games that don't have replay value, but I still end up playing again. Unlike consoles I can add mods that either change things, or make graphics a lot better which then change the feel of the game. ;)

So do I. My point and click adventuer game The Longest Journey which I played again recently I've played loads of times although technically it only has 1 ending but I've gone through it plenty of times. The only games I've got that really have multiple ways of playing are really my RPG games.

  19. My PC is being a right stupid machine atm Don't know why as I've done checks on it and everything looks OK. Weird. It's not one thing in particular but I've been getting a lot more crashes lately in games and everything seems to be running a lot slower. Usually that means I end up having to reprogram it but with various games on the go I don't want to lose them atm Thinking I might need to use the cloud systems for my asves and then redownload them when I've done it.

Maybe I'll try Win 10 while I'm at it. After all if I don't like it and can't get things to work the way I want I can always go back to 7 as I have Win 7 on the disc that came with my system

And Windows 10 has rollback system so if you don't like it you can go back to W7 exactly as it was before you install 10 ;)

I'll likely go with a clean install  though if I do. Because on a video I was watching yesterday on youtube recommends that that's the way to go otherwise there's a good chance that the problems I'm having atm could follow on over. Need to put my Witcher asve onto the cloud and transfer my current Shepard into ME3 first before I can as those are the most important saves that aer important  to me atm.  That's mostly because I usethe standalone copy of ME2 which doesn't use cloud saving like the trilogy version does.

Also asve any other games I want  to keep onto the cloud systems they use I'm basically doing that first then I'll probably take Win 10 for a spin

  21. I haven't updated yet, I'll probably wait around a fortnight or so. Dad updated his last night and apparently his display driver either isn't compatible or hasn't been updated so now he's getting crashes every 10 minutes or so.

neither have I but then I'm quite happy running Win 7 anyway so I'm not going to rush into it. I may even wait until either I get an upgrade or get a new machine anyway even if it does mean I'm paying whereas I'd get it free now. Mostly because I don't want to do what I did with Vista and end up jumping the gun especially given how bad an experience that was. It does look good but so did Vista  at first until I discovered it's flaws
