  1. To be honest no career mode doesn't really bother me much. Probably 90% of the single player races I did on the last 2 games were using real drivers anyway so it won't be all that different. The main things that really interest me is physics and AI so I'm hoping both are improved this time round.

It does bother me though because I primarily play in the SP modes on games and without it it's unlikely I'll spend as much time playing it but then if I want career mode I suppose I still have the earlier ones for that and the old engine isn't that bad. I have to admit though I am impressed by the graphics this year. But this is more a game thread discussion than a stuff thread one

I say while those two have their hands full in GD, we go crazy here :joy:

Have to admit though my stance has been softening on the game in the last few days though. Still not happy career mode's been left out but if what they've said is true and they're working on a better career mode I am prepared to wait I think as long as it does make a comeback next year. I was determined to wait till the sales and I still may but it still looks a pretty intriguing game even without career mode. I'll probably make a decision within the next 24hrs whether to buy at full or wait till  the sales though. But the F1 bug in me is encouraging me to buy it now regardless of my feelings so far I'm resisting but not by much.

  3. Yesterday I decided to play F1 2010, for old times sake.  Holy shit i've forgotten how good of a game it is. Yeah, the graphics aren't so great, there isn't a safety car and it isn't the most realistic of games but i've been having a ball with it. On F1 2013 career, I got up to China before I got bored and put the game away, on F1 2010 i'm already up to Korea and am in a pretty tight 6 way battle for the championship.  It's such a shame Codemasters decided to move away from the "live the life" angle of the game, answering questions from the press and receiving contract offers from your manager in your trailer just adds so much more to the game.

that's the main reason why I still enjoy playing it 2010 & 2012 have always been my favourites of CM's series. I'm not so sure I'll enjoy 2015 as much which is why I have chosen to wait for the sales and buy it on the cheap I don't really want to spend any more than £20 on it tbh.

Yea the G27 pedals work well with it, although the adapter is a bit crappy.
Crap how the shipping costs like double the actual product :L

yeah so9metimes if I only need something that doesn't cost much I just ask mum to get it when she next goes out shopping instead of ordering it. It can be annoying having to pay P&P when the item itself is quite cheap

  5. got to say I was worried about the Hakkon dragon fight going into it just now. Fortunately though the dragon's no harder than the other dragons in the rest of the game. The only difficult part is he does tend to bounce around the arena a lot but unlike some of the other dragons he doesn't buff himself up although he does call in dragonlings/deepstalkers occasionally to help.  The dragons are quite tough enough to take on anyway so was pleased about that. I was worried mostly because the foot soldiers and the rifts aer mu8ch tougher to deal with in that area as well. Left me with some nice loot though. Going to see if I can make some nice armour out of it.

  6. The Qualifying system does not need any changes. It's one of the few things I think F1 has absolutely nailed. No other motorsport series has got it right.

tbh though, I wouldn't mind a sprint race on a Saturday! Maybe just 30 minutes. However, that's not what F1 is, so in the long run, I hope that doesn't happen.

I agree I don't think there's really too much wrong with the format just the tech they're using really just make the sport more driver orientated and see what happens. TBH I think that's all we really need atm. Also try and make the racing closer and moer competitive is all that's required really. The basic format I'd keep the same As I quite like the knockout system of Q1 and Q2 with the top 10 battling for pole to wrap it up.in fact the qualifying system is about the only thing they have just about got right in recent years so I hope that will not change.

  7. I've spent most of the day playing continuing my DAI playthrough as a rogue working through the Jaws of Hakkon DLC interesting DLC actually. I'm finding the battles quite challenging compared to the main game but I'm still coping fine with it. It did catch me by surprise at first though as I nearly died on a couple of the rift fights but I survived them but I can see why it's recommended level 20 as he enemies in that area are tough as nails. But if you can kill them you do get lots of good loot. In fact I've got an armour in that level that's worth about 30 points moer than the top armour in the main game as well. Interesting stuff I know they're planning more DLC for DAI but if it's a good as this one I know I'm going to enjoy it.

In the end it was a typical England display, so sad to go out like that, especially when were the better team.

yeah I think we played better than them the whole game I think Japan just basically stood there and waited for us to make the one crucial error which unfortunately for us we did. Our girls can come home proudly though given it's the first time an English womens team have made it that far and the furthest any England team have gone Mens or womens teams for 20 years  so they can be proud despite the defeat. I'm  proud of them for representing England in the right way and doing as well as they did.
In hindsight based on the game we should have made the final but bad luck strikes at cruel times

Anyone see Venus & Jupiter pretty much side by side tonight? It's the closest they get for a while, sadly I didn't have a camera on me so couldn't take a picture.

    Yep space geek...
Don't worry I like space too. That's why I'm a big fan of sci fi  with Star Trek and ME and all that.

If England won the Womens world cup, it would be cool. But it will never be the same as the mens team winning it for me.

But aren't USA and Germany both miles better?

Also, someone pointed out on Reddit that USA vs Germany and England vs Japan was very WW2-esque

they're supposed to be yeah but we all know that when it comes to this stage of the tournament it's how you perform on the day. TBH the game between England and Canada. I found more entertaining than most of the Premier league matches I've watched this last season. Either way though win or lose the women have done themselves proud just getting this far given it's England's first ever semi in the women's game. So I'd be telling them no matter what happens from here on in they can be proud of themselves if I was their coach. Chances are though we've got a better chance at winning in the women's game right now than we have in the men's though so we may as well take what we can get.

Because no one watches women's tennis, golf, cricket, rugby, etc and goes "this isnt as good as the men's version ", so why is there a need to do it for women's football?
Uh, i'm pretty sure people do...

If you were to show a Mens football game, then show a Womens game back to back or another sport then they probably would think/say that the Mens game was better

And I will never understand why people will do this.
    I don't think I will either.

    |Yeah but I have to admit I tend to watch more of the female players than the mens when it comes to the tennis not that I watch much of that. Mostly I think because most of the  female tennis players aer quite pretty I think. I'd never belittle them as a lot of them are quite talented at what they do.. In fact when it comes to music as well I tend to listen to mostly female artists. I think again mostly because I prefer female singers.

I have to admit on my tennis games I have like the topspin series I play on both the mens and womens circuits mostly to get moer out of the game too. TBH the mens sports is full of faults now mostly because of the money I think in the games at least with the womens game they play honestly. I have to admit in a lot of sports it's a shame that the men don't follow the womens example. Because a lot of mens sports are being shown up.

Why not just like it for what it is instead of comparing it to the men's game?

So pathetic to belittle a sport, or even a league, because its not up to the standards of something else. As long as its competitive does it really matter?
Eh? I said i had enjoyed it and some of the games have been exiting, and whats wrong with comparing it to the mens game? Its football in the end.

Don't really see how saying the quality is poor is belittling womens football when its true, a lot of the goals have come from defensive errors or poor goalkeeping. I like competitive games, but i also like to watch good quality football and France were the only team that had that ability
tbh the majority of goals come from poor defending or bad goalkeeping even in the mens game.

Agreed I've watched one or 2 womens football matches on BT Sport and enjoyed them in fact probably a bit more than some of the mens football lately. Also I'm quite looking forward to the womens teams being added to Fifa and doing some custom cups/leagues with them. Not sure how much I'll play with the mens teams right now as I've still got career modes on the go on Fifa 15 right now. But it depends on how much of them I get done before it comes out I guess.

Higher quality than Scottish football  :p

I think the quality has been pretty high tbh, it's a lot more honest compared to men's football.
yeah I haven't watched much of it but I did see England's game last night that was good. I think the womens game is more honest mostly because there's not as much money polluting it most of the players just seem like ordinary folk ulike the mens game where if you want a good player you've got to pay through the nose for it these days.
