I here you need a wheel for PCars to really work.  If thats the case, what cheap wheel should you get for PS4?
You don't need a wheel. Controller works just fine but you need to adjust the settings. The standard settings for controllers are not ideal
Of course you need a wheel for a racing game like Project Cars, man. Look, a controller is perfect for games like those from Codemasters as they are arcade. But simulation is something different, get a proper steering wheel for it.
You really don't need a wheel for pCARS. They have been saying for years you need a wheel for CM F1 series as well and now suddenly it's so arcade that you don't need a wheel anymore?
pCARS is SIM but you can tweak it to arcade as well. Like I said before, if you play pCARS with a controller you will need to adjust the settings because the standard settings are not ideal for controllers.

Exactly that's why I chose to get it. I can't race with a wheel mainly because of my disability but with the assists and things you don't really need to in this game. Obviously it has a pure sim style type of feel and racing style to it but it's mainly there for those that want it. But if you don't then it's got the option of turning those things off. I'm playing the game on a keyboard and handling it just fine. I've already won 2 championships in my career and an Invitational event just now as well. so it can be done

I hadn't really paid much attention to PCars, but after you lot were banging on about it, I've done a bit of research.

WOW. Do whatever you want in whichever race car you want whenever you want. Customise whatever, create your own race weekends, I can put practice sessions in (CM will hate me!). Read the reviews, not a bad review out there, they love it. It's brilliant.

Wow, that is the way to make a game. They asked the community what they wanted, listened, then gave it them. After the Spanish GP qualifying, I am popping to Tescos to buy it.

That CM, is how to make and market a game.

You won't regret it I can assure you.

Wow what an awesome price for a high end 500GB SSD, shame I don't have the funds for it at the moment. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/500gb-samsung-850-evo-25-ssd-3d-v-nand-sata-6gbps-read-540mb-s-write-520mb-s-512mb-cache-97000k-iops?owpid=2557291&utm_campaign=Scanshot+455+08%252f05%252f15&utm_source=scanshot&utm_medium=email

If I was going to buy anything it would be the H110i GT first though. Wish they'd make a 360mm radiator version though.

yeah that is a good price mine cost about £200 although mine's a Crucial

check out this insane day/night transition its soo dark looks soo good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P15g5x-C_4
What I like is how the game accurately depicts the amount of lighting at the various times of the year. For example I selected 4 am as my time on the 10th May and you could see the sun coming up as I went to do a couple of laps round Brands Hatch. I then did it again this time selecting 20th December as the date and it was dark as hell as it normally is at that time of year in the UK and had my headlights on

At first the karts were a pain in the ass but on Project CARS once you start to learn how to drive the different cars  it feels smooth and just fun to drive just like I feel right now with karts, you could never get that on the F1 games. However I do still find the road cars quite heavy but that's probably because I'm so used to playing F1 games and haven't ever really played a game with a realistic handling model. I play on a dual shock 4. PSN: Max__Air. I love driving the Formula C cars as well they are beautiful to drive. We should start a league for those on the forums anyways seeya

yeah I'm better with normal cars and open wheelers than I am with Karts decided to quit that career and atart at Formula Rookie level though will probably will come back and rty the kaqrts again once I've got moer experience with the game. I'll  just skip the karts for now and do some practice races until I get a grip on them then try again.

Just won my first 2 races in Formula Rookie at Oulton park though so I'm feeling much better now.

  6. Think I'm gonna have to increase the AI too but a little higher ;) 70% right now but I'm beating the AI by 5 seconds in quali with the Formula Rookie at Oulton. I'll do the races and see where they're at first though before upping them to 90%.

yeah good idea as the cars and AI are different depending on what you're driving I've noticed as I'm struggling in the karts whereas I had the AI beat in Formula Rookie earlier

  7. GFot to asy the Karts are really tough I'm struggling to cope with them but I'mgiving it my best shot 2races and I've got 1 measly point. Starting to think I should have started in the Formula Rookie's

  8. Got my copy too, got it installed and did a bunch of laps around Nurburgring with the Formula Gulf 1000 cars. Feels really good so far, but I've had to go out so it'll be later tonight before I can get a decent go on it.

Yeah it does had a blast in the Formula Rookie cars and won a couple of races against the slowest AI setting at 10% but I might tweak that up as I was whipping them. As in qualifying I was about 4.5 seconds faster but at least I know I have a level I can retreat too if I find things too hard going if I decide to increase it.

Not played the Gulf cars but I'll probably save those until I get to that level in career as I'm thinking I'm ready to start one now

I picked up Project Cars for the PC yesterday and WOW!  Nothing out there even comes close!  Asetto Corso's graphics, despite all the hype, are terrible!  Looks like they used totally different contrast and shade values for their cars that are different from the track environments.  Totally screws up its immersive value.

F1 will again look great I'm sure, and I will buy it.  But only because it provides all the new cars, drivers, and tracks for the entire season.

As for rFactor2...it's already losing me.  It feels, looks, and plays like a game despite all it "sim" values.  Half the time it's cars look as if their rear ends aren't even on the road!

Project Cars has taken longer to get out than any other game/sim has.  But it is definetly worth the wait!

Have to agree with that haven't got around to doing any races yet but I've just been doing some practice laps round Monza on it and found it great fun. F1 2015 has a lot to live up to if it's going to compete with PCars this year as P Cars has set the bar pretty high.

  10. took about 3/4 attempts to get a clean lap out of the Formula A cars at Monza but it's good fun so far. Did a few laps in the Formula Rookie car too found those quite easy to drive. Also had some fun with the Pagani Zonda R and the free DLC car the Lykan. Next step have some fun with the AI

    What settings do you suggest?
I suggest just running a few practice laps/races in solo mode and just keep tweaking and changing the setting till you find one that suits you really as that's what I'll be doing in a few minutes as I got my copy today as well. Haven't got started or installed it yet though. I did see a vid on the Team VVV channel where Alan I think his name is talks a little about P Cars control systems you might want to give that a look

Woke up today in a good mood, then turned on the TV :| The stupid thing about elections is a lot of people vote for a face, rather than actual policies. Where I live it's been Lib Dem for as long as I can remember (David Laws) but it's now Conservative. Still a huge amount of people that didn't vote in what was an important election. The people that didn't vote will still moan about stuff. Not voting doesn't show the parties that they don't like any of them, it shows that the parties don't need to care about them.

This is how it would've looked if we didn't have first past the post.

Same as my area mine's either been Conservative or Lib dem as well

It sucks I have to wait until the 12th of May for North America release.

you do get some games before we do  a lot of the time though it's just on this occasion we're getting the game before you this time. You could always byu it on download through Steam though assuming you're on PC that is.

I have it, obviously B) difference is this is the first time in like 4 years I haven't been allowed to play it. Yep they locked the game for a large section of investors, only a few days though.
well luckily you should be able to play it again though but I'm looking forward to getting started on a few practice laps and races before I get my career underway on it.
